  1. As long as they don't offer to tarmac your drive or replace your soffits.
  2. "Whatever that Dutch bloke told us to do, don't"
  3. I saw a Prime trailer for this and dismissed it, now I'll give it a go.
  4. I got it in 5 but for some reason I can't copy and paste it.
  5. The Streets. Disappoining, "Dry Your Eyes" and "You're Fit" are probably the standouts.
  6. Do we really care about Nottingham. Or does size matter to you?
  7. You've been Please give your reasons.
  8. Damnably frustrating when it's a word that has several possible solutions and I always seem to choose the wrong one.
  9. Wordle 1,370 4/6 ⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜ 🟨⬜⬜⬜🟩 ⬜🟩⬜🟨🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  10. Humphries comes across as a sycophant on F1 coverage. This doesn't change my opinion.
  11. I find that continuing drinking helps with socialising with the wife. Unless you're on the Red Stripe. Then it becomes a different kind of socialising.
  12. I think it always has been going way back before FB, X, TikTok etc. It's just that over the last decade I'd say, it's become even more toxic and open to every kind of freak that's out there. and is now more or less out of control. Particularly when the likes of Musk and Zuckerberg control so much of it and all they (seem) to care about is how much money and power can be accrued. Their unwillingness to get a grip on the deeply unpleasant and quite frightening and possibly illegal stuff that is posted suggests that they don't care.
  13. The world wide recognition that's now being reported will ensure the deserved awards that this series deserves
  14. Gareth Southgate's Dimbelby lecture has raised my opinion of him above being a footballer and manager. He's spoken so well and is so right in what he said.
  15. The Tour De France starting in Scotland and progressing through the UK. I don't want to think about all the mamils that are subsequently going to fill our lanes for weeks on end.
  16. My concern with regard to the reviews is the level of competence of those doing the face to face assessments. The reviews are almost always face to face which can be intimidating for the claimant especially if they have MH issues. The reviewer is trained to assess within government guidelines which, by the very nature of that, puts claimants a a disadvantage.
  17. My daughter has given me a small list of her favourite songs to "keep me young". Death Of A Batchelor was one. It's led me into more music by Panic At The Disco, I never really knew of them before she suggested them to me. House Of Memories is another good listen. So good. PS. It's all subjective, like art and films but I like being offered new stuff to listen to that I otherwise might not, and I am prepared to be surprised by. Even at my age!
  18. I couldn't agree more. My daughter who I've spoken about several times, is eligible for the full PIP because of her MH illness. She can function reasonably well until some crisis causes severe anxiety and triggers her bi-polar disorder. She was re-assessed for PIP and, despite her obvious issues, her claim was declined, despite supporting evidence from her Psychiatrist. She went into meltdown as a result and we struggled to keep her safe. We appealed and the decision was overturned before the hearing took place. We now have been accepted as her proxy so we can complete assessments on her behalf and accompany her to any further reviews It's shitshow, and the proposed reforms will almost certainly cause some to take their own lives as a result.
  19. Wordle 1,369 4/6 ⬜⬜⬜🟨⬜ ⬜🟨⬜⬜⬜ 🟩⬜🟩⬜🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Disappointed after all the 2's and 3's by others.
  20. There's been many, maybe thousands of posts on SM saying much the same. There's also loads complaining that it was "slow" and "boring" with no outcome or ending. People who wanted to see a court case. They seem to have missed the point completely. The "ending" was at the beginning. It is not a crime drama. It's about the impact of SM, school experiences and bullying, dysfunctional families, toxic masculinity and misogyny and the effects on the family of he who committed the crime, of which there is no ending. I'm going to watch it again because there are many subtle nuances that I have likely missed. PS. the boy at the centre of this, Owen Cooper, this was his first ever acting role. The song Through The Eyes Of A Child, which played at the end, was sung by Emilia Holliday who played Katie, the victim.
  21. The single shot style of filming was remarkable. When the lad jumped out of the window and the camera followed as if we were by his side. Apparently it was a single camera handed over to different cameramen as the story unfolded And the whole thing was filmed a number of times to get the best outcome in terms of dialogue and errors. They then took the best version and that is what was shown
  22. Wordle 1,368 4/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜🟨 🟩⬜🟨⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟨🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  23. Pedoscope for x-raying to ensure the correct fit for shoes. I remember a shop on Belvoir St had one (Robotham's)? My dad took me for some shoes and I was fascinated by being able to look at the bones of my own feet. They no longer exist for obvious reasons.
  24. Wordle 1,367 4/6 ⬜⬜⬜🟨⬜ 🟨⬜🟨⬜⬜ ⬜🟩🟩⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 That surprised me!
