The shit hit the fan for me when Brucciani's went bust. Like losing an old friend that gave me so many childhood memories. No more fresh cream, lemon iced buns or a glass of lemonade with a dollop of ice cream in it.. Even after I got married, got older and moved slightly away, a trip to Leicester had to include a visit to Brucciani's.

@Jattdogg hasn't cropped up in the "Long Lost Foxestalkers" topic yet... If he does, we know why.

QoS was decent a decade or so ago. Now it's just childish and another example of BBC tokenism.

If that's the case, why sanction someone for non- attendance? The letter I received stated that each non-attendance costs the NHS £x amount and that someone else could have filled my appointment slot. Well, OK, make it easier to cancel. Just imagine, if the outpatient clerical team had acted upon my cancellation, they could have reduced the waiting list by one. Extrapolate that over genuine cancellations per day, per year, per clinic per NHS area. Thousands, potentially. Don't sanction patients, sort the process out. Make it simple.

As series 2 seems to be doing. BBC tokenism, again.

I imagine this idea has been raised many times by NHS and GP trusts. There must be a reason it hasn't been taken forward. Ironically some people become too unwell to attend appointments, or recover such that there is no need to attend. In the latter case, there should be a direct way of cancelling via some link to the clinic/surgery with a confirmation of the cancellation by return email. I had a fractured finger about a year ago. I attended the follow up appointment where all was going well. I was given another follow up appt for 6 weeks later. The consultant told me that if I felt it unnecessary to attend the follow up, I could cancel. I emailed the outpatients clerical team to cancel as it wasn't required. I heard nothing back until I got a letter accusing me of non- attendance and that my GP would be informed which meant I could need his referral for any visits in future. In other words a clinical practitioner in A&E would not be able to refer me to any consultant without my GP validating it.

Series 1 won awards, apparently.

Vigil. Series 2. Dull, overwritten and badly acted. IMO

I did wonder how much it might cost

One of the smallest roundabouts to have traffic signals.

You're a conspiracy theorist. If some person was pushing lone women into a river why would they first relieve them of their phone and other belongings and leave them over a mile away? You can't just remove a persons clothing, glasses and jewellery against their will. There'd be evidence of a struggle. Obviously, after the fallout from the Nicola Bulley case the police are going to keep shtum.

Can you imagine the sense of righteous entitlement that the far right, Nazi-leaning, redneck Trump supporters will feel if the buffoon wins? They'll feel unstoppable and Trump will feed into, and from, this reaction. Potential trouble ahead for the USA and the wider free world IMO. (Actually, the choice could be between 2 buffoons).

Passed stage one. Two more readings before it becomes law. It could still go tits up for the Gov. Rwanda are bagging millions of our pounds before even one asylum seeker gets on a plane. They know how desperate and stupid our government is.

As I said.

City of Leicester & Leicestershire - The Good and Historical Stuff

If they can make a film of the train robbers and Ronnie Biggs, why not this? Maybe the notoriety of the Biggs gang and the event itself makes a better story than a gangland boss and a murderer? -
As a balance to this, individuals will take their own lives for a variety of reasons. I accept that the refugee ships aren't really acceptable in terms of the apparent conditions, as described in the press but neither are the many hotels and camps full of asylum seekers and there are no figures or reports (that I am aware of) for suicides in these places. No-one knows the true background or the facts surrounding this incident.

I think I'd struggle to find 20 articles of interest or importance in a week in the LM.
