SunSport can reveal the 39-year-old remains one of the names in the frame to replace sacked Philippe Clement, despite interest from Leicester City.
  2. Anyone else have the feeling that our first championship pre match conference will be Ruud Van Nistelrooy talking about needing alignment having not spoken to the board yet and wondering what his future is 🤣
  3. Exactly where I'm at. Plus his style requires quite dynamic players who are comfortable on the ball, something any future manager would certainly benefit from.
  4. He played well in Serie A in a campaign fighting for Europe, and played generall quite poorly in a team absolutely sapped of any confidence and everyone around him making multiple clangers per game. He has potential, but he's a sellable asset. If we get rid of the dead wood on high wages like Faes etc, and manage to bring in our targets and Kristiansen is viable then we should keep him, he's 22 and has time to improve in the Championship. If we need cash then sell.
  5. We can only hope that the club have told him he must 100% play to our wingers strengths, I doubt it though.
  6. They see me ROHL IN.......
  7. You’re completely right, it’s got to a point I don’t really feel anything about the relegation, what’s the point in wasting my mental health worrying about the nepobaby owner and his crew, neither them or the players give a toss so it’s not worth worrying about. Will still be supporting the club but I’m very much in the “I told you so” frame of mind towards the ownership. With that said though, as a fanbase we do need to hold these charlatans to account before they destroy the club completely
  8. He just completely nullifies them of their flair, very much wants them to turn around and pass backwards rather than drop the shoulder and run at someone.
  9. John Rudkin: Okay, another successful season has passed, let’s look to the future. Okay, so the wingers are our best position, our defence is the weak point. Let’s sign a manager who nullifies our best assets but also leaks goals for fun. Yes, I’ll sleep well tonight. Another day being a winner.
  10. Trying to avoid caring about this club and the football we are about to endure once again.
  11. Speaking to a few Southampton fans about how Martin pretty much destroyed the flair and excitement of their wingers has made this a monumental NO from me, it was a no anyway but our best 2 players are wingers, It would be the most king power move ever to look at the squad we have then go for a manager who completely nullifies their talent. If I have to watch Mavididi and Fatawu beating their man only to turn around and pass it back to the full back or play it into the midfield I’ll be done with this club. I cannot do another season of Enzoball on steroids. DANNY. ROHL. IN. Urs Fischer, Sean dyche, rydstrom, 10 other names I’ve mentioned on this thread. Anyone but sideways managers.
  12. The club U-Turned on Jesse Marsch when fans turned. It's not too late. I really like everything about Martin apart from his god awful football.
  13. Atleast there is a silver lining everyone. It's the last time we see the likes of Soumare in a Leicester shirt
  14. Can we make you head of social media at LCFC?
  15. Im chaining myself to the ground if it's to make way for Martin.
  16. Im chaining myself to the ground if it's to make way for Martin.
  17. Aluko looks quite nimble for such a tall frame. Hopefully we have another gem in him
  18. Great start to the game then an expected quiet spell away fro home, I don't think we've been too bad.
  19. Worth every penny #skipp
  20. Really surprised that Will Still has had to drop to the Championship, don't get me wrong it will likely be a prem club in 12 months time, but given the work Still has done in France I'm surprised he has dropped down the Championship, i'd have imagined top flight clubs would have gone for him.
  21. If Sunderland fall short today, what are peoples thoughts on Regis Le Bris?
  22. Seen it a lot recently, I don't mind constructive criticism but there's been so much personal abuse towards people. I saw people getting personal to Luke Thomas of all people in one of the match threads recently, I'd even go as far to say personally abusing Rudkin is ridiculous, criticise his role in the club and his performance, but personally abusing someone who has been with the club a long time and was also a large part of our recent successes is just getting toxic. Ruud has been a massive target for that crowd too, and how can we forget Steve Cooper. I get it, the club is a mess and we are all frustrated, but there's no need to get personal about it.
  23. The crazy thing is, the EFL want the big earners off of our wage book, the fans want the big earners to never wear the shirt again, the players themselves don't want to be here, the only ones who want them are Top and Rudkin
  24. Can the punishment from the EFL be them forcing us to sell: Faes, Coady, Winks, Kristiansen, Soumare, Ndidi, Skipp, Ayew, Ricardo, Daka and BDCR even at a loss? Corr, that would be a bad punishment... That will really show us EFL I promise it would..
  25. I watched the Lineker interview back last night, he shows a fair bit of emotional intelligence and understanding of players and football, but it's so frustrating. Everything about that interview is something I can get behind APART from the playstyle. If it is Martin, I believe he would leave the club in a far more sustainable position than what he would be inheriting, and I don't mind going up then coming back down as part of a long term continuity plan where we build sustainably without needing ÂŁ150m spending sprees then massive clear outs when we go down, Martin is pretty much everything I want from a manager apart from the style. I can envision a situation where if we do sign RM, in 12 months we will have a lower wage bill, a younger squad with a lot more potential and an identity, I just think he would then get sacked 6 months later in the prem, but we would definitely be in a stronger position for a new boss to take over.
