  1. From an earlier poster ROGER SCHMIDT KASPER KJULMAND SERGIO CONCEICAO NIKO KOVAC DIEGO MARTINEZ All these are available, I believe, and would IMO be an upgrade on SC.
  2. It's not about realising how good we've had it over the last 10 years, it's about the now. Of course I want my team to be successful. I support them for the 90 odd minutes on the pitch. It's not the team I have an issue with, I think they genuinely give it their all, it's how they are being coached and game management that I'm concerned with. Fair play to him if luck stays on his side throughout the season and he keeps us up. However, suggesting people are cvnts who express a difference of opinion, IMO, just shows a poor understanding of how a discussion forum should operate.
  3. Are you suggesting you are enthused and optimistic about the way we are set up and play under Cooper. Yes, it's all about goals, but for the most part we don't look like scoring many. Yes I understand we've scored in every game, but it's not as though we look like we could score at will. Luck is likely to change, goals could dry up and opposing teams take their chances. I hope I'm wrong, but the players don't look inspired by the tactics deployed and as a fee paying supporter, it's not that great to watch.
  4. If Cooper manages to keep us up, Top won't replace him. However, tactically I think we are very average. He may prove me wrong, but I can't see our luck being sustained for the duration of the season and I'll be surprised if he does keep us up.
  5. Still seen very little to enthuse me. A decent first half, but the second half was like a siege. Only 1 shot in the second half from Fatawu, which Eduoard managed to head clear. Yes a win is great and the other positive is there does appear to be a willingness to battle in games. However, let's not kid ourselves, yesterday's result could have easily been another defeat. Our defence is not solid, especially from set pieces where we look at 6's and 7's. 3 free kicks across the face of our goal all caused huge problems. Free headers from corners. I'll be surprised if we can continue to be this fortunate or lucky for the rest of the season.
  6. Really - think we'd have at least 9 under Maresca.
  7. It was€8m upfront rising €13m with add ons.
  8. Don't worry Patson's back soon
  9. It's the manner of the win for me. Second half we didn't have one shot. Yes, not one shot on target or not. First half was ok, mainly down to the skills of a loan player. But let's not kid ourselves, Bournemouth were the better of two poor sides. They created chances, hit the post and bar, missed a virtual open goal after 5 minutes and had a goal rule out (correctly). Yes, Vardy probably should have made it 2 - 0 before half time, but that second half was honking. Cooper just doesn't appear to have the nouse to change or affect a game in a positive manner. A poor 1 - 0 win, unfortunately gives him another month, at least, in the job.
  10. I can see a scrappy 2 -1 win, Cooper stays in post, then the next few games we manage a couple of fortunate draws. I almost hope we lose about 3 - 0, so we get rid of this clown.
  11. So you've mentioned Maddison, Barnes, KDH, Evans, Nacho, Daka, not forgetting Soyuncu, Castagne and Armarty. So really it's not the same side.
  12. Think the only way this had a remote chance of happening this week is if we'd have lost 6 or 7 nil to Arsenal. Unfortunately the result at the Emirates was respectable, even if the performance wasn't.
  13. When - we've not really beaten the odds at all this season. Perhaps a draw at home against Spurs goes close.
  14. Only losing 4 - 2 at Arsenal today has stabilised his position. A 5 or 6 goal thrashing may have persuaded the hierarchy enough is enough. Unfortunately I don't have much optimism that our DofF will take a look at the stats and conclude that things aren't improving. It was never going to be easy at Arsenal, but 4-2 hugely flattered us and whilst I'm pleased we showed some fight, I think that was down to the players, rather than management.
  15. And he's also unavailable - injured apparently!
  16. I totally agree - I'm just not that convinced Cooper is the man that can achieve this. It seems we've gone into every game with the aim of not losing, rather than trying to win. I accept some games the tactics need to be less expansive, but as an attacking threat we are poor at the moment. Whilst not conceding more than 2 goals in a game is satisfactory, this has been more due to poor finishing by the opposition, rather than a tight defending unit. For me the players look lost, and whilst Enzo's style didn't suite all fans, at least the players appeared to understand their roles and what the system was. I can't fathom out what we are trying to achieve at present and I think this shows from the frustration of the players on the pitch at times. I hope I'm wrong, but I think we'll get heavily beaten by someone, sooner rather than later, and I fear any confidence we have at present will quickly drain from the team.
  17. So we were the 18th on wage list when we were relegated? All I'm suggesting is that with the right manager, there is enough quality in the squad to create a team that can do ok in this division.
  18. We didn't have the best squad when we won the league. It's how they are motivated, managed and understand what their individual roles are and perform them to the best of their ability. A squad is not a team. Sadly under this manager, nobody seems interested. With the right appointment, this squad could finish up 12th, I believe.
  19. I agree training games don't count, they are the platform for building for the season. Sadly, all I've seen since the start of the season is regression. The team seem to be devoid of ideas, disjointed and lacking any real attacking intent. The only positive is that they appear to run around for 90 minutes, albeit not doing very much constructive.
  20. He's now been in charge 7 games and we seem to be regressing. Utter garbage - Top needs to grow a pair and get shut of this clown.
  21. I think this is absolutely true, but I also think, apart from the financial incentive of letting Maresca go, he ruffled too many feathers and that's why there was no real fight to keep him. Like you say, it felt the club was moving forward last year and now we have no real plan of action other than hire a manager who will give it a go without any real expectations of success or progression. I hope Cooper does well, but is he what we need long term. I think probably not.
  22. He won't set the footballing world alight, but can do a job for us if played when needed.
  23. Either Top was conned or Cooper convinced him that there would be a continuity in style of play and attacking football, I'm not sure. But starting games with no natural attacking midfielder suggests to me, we'd rather try not to lose games, rather than try to win them. The next few games will define our season. Will there be a more progressive approach with a desire to take the game to our opponents, or will sit back and hope we score on the counter or from defensive errors. Apart from a bright 20 minutes against Spurs, I'm not sure we've created too many chances per game.
  24. Unless they get a points deduction for breach of rules.
  25. Yes, but only from the old first division
