My biggest gripe with Rudkin is the contracts he awards most players and the fact players are allowed to run down contracts. To be fair to him, signings will be recommended by the scouting team, even managers, some will turn out fantastic, others abysmal, with most somewhere in between. But Rudkin will negotiate the contracts and to that extent we have been stuck with too many players who we can't sell on because of their wages or inflated transfer fee. Hopefully this near miss with PSR will sharpen future planning and get us back to the model we did so well, buying promising young talent with great resale value in a couple of years.

And that's where the problem lies. Unless you can attract a manager with more ability who is willing to come to Leicester, then you have to persevere with what you have. So unless someone like Moyes has had discussions with the club and agreed to join should they dismiss Cooper, then we'll have to stick with the incumbent and hope things get better.

I take on board your points, but that is the whole idea of the expansion - to generate more income and investment. What KP invest in the Stadium upgrade shouldn't have impact on what is available to spend on improving the squad. As far as I understand, finance isn't the problem. We are still a relative wealthy club and there is scope to spend more on the playing side now this PSR ruling has gone in our favour. We could afford to bin Cooper off, but I think this is unlikely unless someone better has agreed to join. Moyes might be the only realistic option. However, I'm not sure a 3rd change of styles of play in a matter of months is conducive to continuity. Nonetheless, if after 10 games we are in the bottom 3, with little sign of improvement on the pitch, the board may need to act.

This is a real lift - not only for the fans but the players and manager. I'm hoping without this points deduction hanging over our head, the players and manger can get this squad playing to their potential.

Correct and apparently we're only likely to register 24 senior players. Telles would be a decent addition.

That's why he needs Coady next to him. Coady will make him a better player because he'll be constantly talking to him about positioning and concentration.

I'll assess after 10 games - I know some will feel that's too long. Hopefully he can work with the squad (depending on how many are not on international duty) over the next 14 days and results in fixtures that will determine our fate (excluding Arsenal) in the coming weeks will see an upturn in our fortunes. If you sack him now, it's unlikely the club will have anyone lined up (as per usual) and more importantly no one is available (and don't suggest Potter cos he's not coming) therefore the next 2 weeks will a wasted opportunity. Even after 10 games if things are going pear shaped we may not be able to afford to release him of his duties.

Coady has to start ahead of Faes for me. May be slower, but he's a great leader and can at least do the basics of defending consistently. Mavadidi deserves to start. A proper 10 should be starting, rather than Ndidi Ricardo is our best full back - play Justin on the left. Ayew should start over Fatawu in games against top 6 opposition. If Cooper can be more adventurous in his team selection, we will start to pick up points.

I sometimes wonder if this is the message the club wants to put out that we aren't in the market for any more players, so not to alert other clubs of potential targets (I know this strategy hasn't worked too well this transfer window with the Soule and Hlozec deals being hijacked)

Looks like Big Jon is still struggling to shift deadwood - Soumare, Ward, Iverson, Thomas all still here with no real sign of any movement. Perhaps this is the reason we are holding back on deals.

Hope I'm wrong, but be prepared for an uninspiring and boring transfer deadline day (as most are for LCFC fans).
