We don't. Our chance creation has been pitiful. We're 17th for Expected Goals this season but 10th for Goals Scored. We're 5th in shot conversion (score with 8.6% of our shots). Our most creative player (Fatawu) has created 7 big chances, ahead of Ayew on 5 and Thomas on 4. Exceptionally good finishing (Fatawu running his own Goal of the Season competition for example) is what has kept us above Oxford.

Fair play to any Wednesday fan that wanted to go and watch that. Couldn't imagine going to the City Ground to watch us get relegated in February.

This is one hell of a comeback. They were buried half an hour ago.

I forgot about him entirely. I don't really see him staying fit but I suspect he'd play ahead of Vestergaard in that case.

It's him or Soumare. Both genuinely laughable signings and we signed both in the same window alongside Vestergaard and Bertrand. That summer put us back 15 years. Heads should have rolled for it yet here we are, living with the consequences with the same people in charge.

Him being preferable to Ayew isn't enough to start him. It's like playing with 10 men. I actually think Mukasa is the answer. Especially when James is back. I see our best 11 being something like; Begovic Ricardo Vestergaard Nelson Aluko Skipp Winks James Fatawu Mukasa Mavididi

The world is fretting over Arsenal's play-style as if it's not just the counter to the previous most successful style of play. Chelsea, Leicester and Chelsea again implemented a very successful counter attacking style of play that relied on defensive solidity and pace in attack to win titles in the mid-2010s. Other teams then try and replicate this success. Man City then turned that on it's head with Pep Guardiola's Tiki-Taka style of play that ensured the counter attack wasn't successful because you simply couldn't get the ball off of them in dangerous areas. Other teams then try and replicate this success. Klopp's heavy metal football was the counter to this by pressing these teams to within an inch of their lives until they made mistakes. Other teams then try and replicate this success. Pep then reinvented his Tiki-Taka by employing defenders who could push into midfield. With extra men in midfield it makes you very press-resistant. Other teams then try and replicate this success. Arteta is now relying on big athletic lads who are desperate to head the ball and who can turn every set piece into a huge opportunity. When you're playing teams who fancy their chances as mini-Man City then you're easily bullied and you can't do much with the ball when it's almost never in play. Other teams will try and replicate this success (some already are). I'm not clever enough to predict the next change in the game but you can bet that in a couple of years time, those who want to play with 4 centre halves and 60 minutes play time per game will be found out at the top level. If I were to guess though, it wouldn't surprise me to see the classic counter attack come back into fashion. I'm sure our 15/16 team would beat this current Arsenal team.

Yep bloke at work has said as much to me too. Also said they really don't like Rowett there. They think it's got all the hallmarks of us going there and reviving our season with a statement win. Trouble is that I think the opposite.

I fully believe him that he won't bring the likes of Ayew and Winks into the team until they've proven to him that they don't care. I just worry he's going to give them 3/4 games first.

We have to view this game as winnable. They're even worse than us at the minute with next to no games available. If we are comfortably beaten in this then I think it's Goodnight Vienna. I'm really not sure what Rowett's track record is with playing inexperienced players but I think he has to given how out of form our experienced players are. I think he'll play the following; Begovic Ricardo Okoli Nelson Thomas Winks Skipp Fatawu Mukasa Mavididi Ayew and that makes me ****ing weep. Just have to hope he's seen enough of us play or that the likes of Andy King have been honest with him with regards to players like Thomas, Winks and Ayew.

I've just seen the goals he conceded. While he doesn't cover himself in glory I think they'd have been good saves if he'd made them. They're the sort of goals we were conceding under Danny Ward and Daniel Iversen where every goal gets a full investigation. What I mean to say is that none of them are howlers by any stretch. The problem for Iversen and Ward is that for every goal they conceded like this (where they might have been able to do a bit better) they did concede a howler. I haven't been watching Celtic play often enough to know Kasper has been doing there regularly but ultimately I don't think you can be shocked when you sign a 40 year old keeper with 800 games played and he can't quite regularly save low hard shots anymore.
