I'm not 100% sure about this but Enzo's matchday squad may be down to EFL squad rules. We have 25 registered squad players. 11 start 9 on bench 4 on the injured list. Daniel Iverson and Yunus Akgun are the only players not listed as playing, on the bench or injured. Tom Cannon is officially in our u21 squad list. I guess Iverson was left out because three keepers would look silly and Akgun isn't on the injured list as he may have had a chance of playing.

If Bremer is the only player we sign pre season I'll be happy. Ideal player to make skipper and a solid defender with a good head. Not sure if he's made the Brazillian squad yet but he'll be looking to impress Tite for the WC and he won't do that sitting on the bench at one of the top six clubs. Offer £30m and keep him happy with a decent buy out clause job done.

I think we desperately need a captain. A captain playing in midfield who can orchestrate the play from kick off to final whistle. Our players for the frst 20 mins today were rudderless. We started the match today not with a team but with eleven individual players who had for some unknown reason forgotten the game plan. This isn't the first time this has happened and I doubt it will be the last. When it does happen your captain needs to be in amongst it, not in goal or at centre back.

Whatever your views on Amartey, or any other player for that matter are, ask yourself a couple of things. 1. Are they good enough to play for a PL team with top ten ambitions. 2. Should a club in our position have a squad good enough and better prepared for unexpected injuries. For me it's simple. We should have better squad players than Amartey. I'm not having a pop at him he's doing an ok job, but ok isn't good enough at this level. Average or above average isn't good enough either. The margins of skill at this level are too minute.
