Smacks of Rudkin reading Foxestalk on the last evening of the transfer window, suddenly clicking that we need a striker as we only have one fit one who is about 40 years old and realising it's a useless Chelsea spare or this twat. Welcome Edouard you beautiful man. You get those 5 goals that will make the difference.

It's also a Championship team where he'll likely start every week. He goes to a better Championship team, he sits on the bench. Good move for him and us.

Wow the ex Minister for "Common Sense" is very special indeed.... This is of course not offensive at all. Stick to doing Cilla Black impressions you extremely unserious woman.

Who do you want for next season in the PL
Brizzle Fox replied to Fightforever's topic in Transfer Talk
Tanner has zero insight into City these days, if he ever did, so would take this with a rather large pinch of salt. -
Very true but I would imagine if he ends up at Bristol City this may be an option, as he'll only he a backfill until Dickie is back. I think he's done his hamstring so timings would fit. If City want him to have a full season actually playing in the Champs then a different club may be the order of the day.

Oh you are spot on about Mr Ashton. Hard to think of many more poisonous names down at the Gate. The main achievement of Niges time down here was to get the club back on an even financial keel, but very much to the cost of the football side of things.

I've honestly never enjoyed a transfer window so much. It must be the masochist in me, so many threads, so many mediocre players, with the absolute nadir being a thread that has already reached 6 pages and we still don't know which player has actually been tenuously linked. Dunno what I'm gonna do with myself if someone starts a thread with the name of a player that would actually improve us! Golden days. -
Ha ha ha. The very definition of a mediocre Prem player....fits the blueprint though I suppose. We're trying to rebuild the Bristol City midfield of a few years ago.....
-
Bristol City have one of the best defensive set ups in the Champs (4th best defence last season) and looks like Dickie out for a while. Would be a great move for him if Cooper ain't gonna pick him.

Jordan Ayew (interest confirmed by Percy)
Brizzle Fox replied to iancognito's topic in Transfer Talk
Tbf take away the fee and he's probably the type of player who will help us in season that will basically be a big, ugly relegation battle. Caveat that however in that we buy a proper number 9. But of course our star striker purchase/ loan will inevitably be Fofana and he is ****ing shit so we are royally screwed #foxesneverquit -
No no no, so pretty much inevitable that we end up signing him.
-
To be serious for a minute it is shocking how much serious news organisations like the BBC are underplaying these crimes, pandering to the Daily Mail / Express reading outrage merchants. Oh the guy this refers to was also out on licence from a 20 year sentence for drug smuggling. A total wrong un. Or...
-
I posted elsewhere that maybe Mark Ashton had learnt his lesson from previous efforts to bankrupt clubs, but maybe not... Either way it's gonna be a hell of a trip for Ipswich fans over the next few years.

You may be right of course but there is a bit of confirmation bias at play here after only 1 competitive game, in assuming that a player who has pretty much zero Premier League experience is somehow going to be definitely better than a player who has already been proven to be a decent, if unspectacular Premier League performer. Maybe we give it a few games before we make such definitive statements and hope that both players become key and integral elements of our squad, as we will certainly need this over such a long and arduous season. -
Please please please let it happen

Yeah not a natural finisher as that football sage Michael Owen may opine...

I don't have Sky Sports so don't have to watch the incisive punditry from Neviile and Spit The Dog.
-
Tbf I'm more concerned about the decision making behind giving a massively diminished Ndidi a new contract, than signing this lad.

It really is a great place to watch cricket. They get so many things right down there. Always found them a very classy club with very knowledgeable and fair minded fans. -

Gave it a really good effort in the end. A great defence of their title. -
Buzzing for this. Just hope we can get Ayew over the line now. Loving this window.

Damn Turner has just got Handscomb as well. He's killing us. -
No. I was there and it was definitely Madri. Rudkin is a sophisticated, well travelled man who only drinks genuine, traditional, premium European beers.
-
Yeah I must begrudgingly admit Ashton seems to be doing a great job there. Maybe he has learnt from nearly bankrupting Bristol City by throwing out stupid contracts and high wages to rubbish players, so fair play to him.

Come on guys it will be a scripted, anodyne press conference full of empty platitudes. In addition the assembled press (all 3 of them) will throw out the most soft ball questions imaginable, in the hope they can maintain their access and client journo status. #fearless
