Every time you think the club has maybe done something remotely positive (in this case, Rowett's appointment in palatable) they find a way to just drag things down even further. Can't fvcking stand the people 'running' our club. One step forward and two steps back. This won't change until they're LONG gone. None of this would have happened if we were ran competently from the beginning. We got ourselves into this mess and somehow make it worse every single time.

I think we'll see an upturn of form, but... 6th place typically requires ~70pts. Last season was an anomaly with 66pts being enough. We're on 32 currently, so we'd need to earn 38 out of the 42 available points to get there. Even Champions-level form wouldn't be enough - 2.2ppg only gets us up to 62. On the flip side, 50pts is almost always safe... but one relegation spot is already confirmed and the other teams around us are doing OK at the moment, so I imagine the safe point is going to be on the higher end this year. Our recent form will see us struggle, but a handful of wins and things are looking a bit healthier...

That team was full of so many complimenting players who just allowed each other to shine. Shinji was limited, but it somehow just worked. A proper workhorse that helped elevate Vardy/Albrighton/Mahrez and still popped up with the occasional iconic moment of his own. Always played with a smile on his face too, unlike some of our more recent players in those forward positions... Him and Fuchs in particular were such great characters off the pitch too. God, how I miss that squad.

Not renewing my season ticket: I cannot be only one
Xen replied to LinekersLugs's topic in Leicester City Forum
Kept my ticket this year - mostly because I wasnt paying attention and it auto-renewed and I figured I'd take it as a sign and persist a bit longer. But I've been to only 4(?) games I think, and passed the ticket on to family - or just let it go unused - otherwise. Made the decision a couple weeks back to pack it in - I'm not likely to be back this season, and definitely won't be next. I've said before on here that if I still lived in Leicestershire I might struggle with that decision a bit more - an extra 2 hours travel each way makes it a bit of an ordeal - but frankly with the way the club has been going, I think even if I lived next door to the KP I'd be giving it a miss. It's a crap position to be in, and I think its only made worse by the contrast to the highs we've had over the last decade. Its gutting to be where we are. Used to be proud to talk about being a Leicester fan, now I try not to bring it up if I can avoid it... -
If we do get relegated, then we certainly won't be in a position to repeat our last League 1 season. Which means that we'll be almost guaranteed to have the lowest league finish in our entire history (if we don't go into liquidation first...). And just a decade after the fairytale season winning the PL. We're going to need a statement/unexpected win in the next 3-4 fixtures to give ourselves the belief again, I fear. There's points on the board that we should be more than capable of taking in the run of fixtures after Ipswich, but with these players... It's an uphill battle, that's for sure. I wouldn't put money on us surviving, lets put it that way.

I would've thought training at a start-of-the-art facility would be more appealing than training at a relatively dated women's only ground. It's not like Seagrave isn't big enough to accommodate both the Men's and Women's sides comfortably. They don't need to be shoved into a corner - integrate them in with scheduled pitch usage, rotate gym schedules, players mingling in the canteen, etc etc. Heck, having it all as a 'One Club' philosophy would surely be a positive, rather than being the afterthought which they often seem to be. Other clubs put SO much more emphasis on their women's side (and academies, for that matter), for Leicester it almost feels like they're a distraction sometimes...

Plus, because of the success we had under Vichai and the (understandable) view that the club is a part of his legacy, Top's even less likely to sell up/move on.

No, even without relegation. I've lost the love for it. As long as these charlatans are running our club then I can't see anything improving, either. If I still lived in Leicester then maybe I'd keep going, but its just not worth the upheaval with travelling down from the northwest to see the same old tedium every other week.

He's crap, but always puts in the effort. At times its comical to watch, but it's always reassuring to at least see people putting themselves on the line a bit. In contrast to Ayew, who has a tiny bit more ability but is perhaps the laziest of the lot. It's night and day when you swap them over.

I’m probably phrasing it poorly - I’ve got no doubt we had relegation clauses in place, but we’re still massively over the break-even point for this division. And it’s one thing putting in a relegation clause in someone’s contract whilst in the premier league, it’s another thing entirely having a clause that covers a double relegation so quickly and fwiw, I’m speculating based on the competency of the board in general rather than any insider knowledge of contracts. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that even the most switched on board would struggle to get us in line with league one finances so swiftly from the point where we were in the prem

A cold sweat, eh? You know what would do just the job to keep you warmer...

Its unfathomable how far we've fallen that this is a pretty common feeling among fans. Missing games because of how bad we are is one thing, but to feel complete apathy about doing so - even not bothering with watching on tv/strm etc - shows just how much the passion has been sapped from the club and fans. If it wasn't for FoxesTalk I'd have forgotten when this fixture was even being played...

When we were first relegated from the PL, we were explicitly told that the leadership at the club just didn't have a plan for it because they didn't expect it to happen. We absolutely would have had clauses in the contracts for that relegation, but whether they were sufficient or not is questionable, and even when in the championship we were signing players on terms way out of the scope of this league. The fact that we've gone and got promoted at the first opportunity has made them think we're just going to do the same again - clear in Tops interview comments - and that league one is completely off their radar. Explicitly putting in clauses for a double relegation is so far past the level of forward-thinking these fools are capable of. If we get relegated we could halve the size of the squad and our wage bill next season would still be the biggest in the division. From https://www.capology.com/uk/championship/payrolls/ (Not sure on the accuracy of these figures, so take with a pinch of salt) we have 6 of the 10 highest paid players in the division (Winks, Ricardo, Daka, Vestergaard, Skipp, Choudhury) and our overall payroll is ~£39m (33% higher than next-highest Southampton). By contrast, the highest payroll in League One is Cardiff who pay out £13m - a THIRD of what we're currently paying.

Sigh.

Can guarantee theres no clauses for relegation to league on in those hefty contracts, too. If we do go down, we're fvcked.
-
Working backwards, since the FA Cup win these are all the questionable ones. Could add the likes of Skipp (overpriced) and Souttar (always injured) to the list Carranza Vieites Okoli (Not a PL standard player, which is when he was signed) Ayew Coulibaly Edouard Coady Faes Tete Smithies Kristiansen Daka Soumare Vestergaard Bertrand In that same time, some of the notable players in their prime years that we've sold, failed to sign, or let contracts expire: Hermansen Justin Buonanotte Dewsbury-Hall Iheanacho Praet Maddison Barnes Castagne Tielemans Soyuncu Perez Mendy Fofana Schmeichel Lookman Yes, we're at a different level now as a club, but the difference in the two lists is astonishing. Especially when the wages some of those in the top list are on aren't much different from the latter list. We've fallen so far and its good to see the people responsible finally getting properly called out for it. Hopefully the pressure keeps up and we see some major changes in how the club is run. The Trust elections have come at the perfect time for this forward progress. This kind of statement never would've been a possibility under the old regime...

Absolute idiocy. Zero brain cells.

Faes is at Monaco. Soumare got himself a nice deal in the Saudi league. Going back further, Mahrez completely downed tools to force a move, and then had some really succesful years at Man City. Fofana did the same and ended up at Chelsea (less succesfully). Plenty of others have coasted to the end of contracts or into a transfer. Heck, there'll be plenty of players who aren't giving their all because other clubs have made it known that they do want them, and its a way to 'encourage' the selling club to cash in whilst they can. We've got a combination of older players who wouldnt have other clubs lining up anyway (Vestergaard, Ayew) and younger players who've probably been scoping out options for a while (Winks). Our woeful wage structure and general recruitment has put us in a perilous position financially and given all the power away to the players/agents/opposition clubs when it comes to negotiating anything at all. Player's being disinterested is a symptom, not a cause.

If the club ever rebrands - especially to a soulless sponsorship like that - then I'm done. I think the only rebrand that would ever be acceptable is if we do pick up the Fosse name. If they want to buy Leicester without the rebrand, then that's a different question. I'd still rather we didn't become just another Franchise FC, but at least it's slightly more palatable.

"We were so relaxed that we were going to be OK" And yet in the same interview he's basically telling us to relax, it's all fine and we'll be OK. NO YOU FVCKWIT ITS HAPPENING AGAIN
