  1. Greed is generally the root of all evil. Not money. In fact, there's a lot more good in the world because of money. Imagine what would happen if you removed all the money from the world... Pretty sure evil would still exist.
  2. I just don't get it.
  3. On paper, that was about our best team. For me it highlights the lack of depth. There's not much on the bench that can come on and change a game. You always need a plan B. When you set up with a strong Plan A, but it doesn't work, it's done.
  4. We were bereft of creative attacking ideas against a well organised defence and made Sunday League errors at the back. It's a fatal combination. Second half, can't deny that Forest were better than us.
  5. The information relating to him being a suspect for an attempted murder 5 days previous doesn't matter because the judge didn't allow that to be disclosed to the jury. The police were responding to the vehicle being noted as involved. When it didn't stop, they have to think of the reasons why it's not stopping, and in the circumstances it was probably reasonable to suspect there might be a firearm in the vehicle. I don't think anyone has said that Kaba was known to be driving, only that the car was involved in a shooting previously. It means that this vehicle is more likely than the average car to have a firearm inside but it's certainly not a given. As it turns out, there wasn't a firearm and it's probably more to do with Kaba simply trying to get away as he thought he was about to be arrested and likely about to go to prison for a long time. At the time of the shooting, the officer has said it was because he believed the vehicle was being used as a potentially deadly weapon. They certainly don't have to wait for someone to pull out a firearm and aim at them before they can shoot them.
  6. I don't know the inner workings of the CPS but then again, I'm not sure anyone does. What I do know is that years ago, it was the police that made the decision whether to charge a suspect or not. There were a lot of cases back then that fell into the "Hmm, I dunno, let's let the court decide" category. The case would then be passed to the CPS for them to handle at court. This led to many cases clogging up the court system that shouldn't really have been sent to court in the first place, and a load of cases that went to court that weren't evidentially "court-ready", leading to offenders being found not guilty when really they should have been. So, early - mid 2000s, the responsibility of charging decisions were transferred from the police to the CPS. The theory being that the CPS can robustly and independently test the evidence to ensure there is a "realistic prospect of conviction". Now, let's say the aim of this was to increase conviction rates from 50% to 80%... The CPS have a mandate for demanding very thorough evidence to be in place before a case gets to trial, but that does allow for some wriggle room for high profile or highly sensitive cases to keep falling into the "Let's let the court decide" category. The decision whether to charge Martyn Blake or not would ultimately have come down to one person, probably with lots of other people chipping in with opinions. There were undoubtedly questions that needed answering and not charging Blake, effectively dismissing the case before it starts, would scream to many "cover up", which brings a whole host of problems with it, that would likely never, ever be cleared up The CPS were stuck between a rock and a hard place, for sure. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. I think justice has been served here, and importantly, seen to have been served. I just feel sorry for the officer and his family who are the ones who have been put through hell to get to this point.
  7. Interesting. The family never mentioned anything about this.
  8. It wasn't political in the sense of playing the game of politics. It was the government acting how a government should act. The first job of any government is to keep our borders secure from foreign military invasion and the second job is to maintain law and order. Without those two things, literally nothing else matters. So when there is widespread disorder like we saw, the wheels of government start to turn to return order to the streets. In this case, that was swift and harsh justice, but guess what - it worked! When people see that people were getting arrested, charged and then thrown in jail for two or three years the next day, all of a sudden people weren't so brave. A wise man once said "Chat sh*t, get banged". Oh, how true.
  9. No.
  10. Let's be real, whether you are Cooper In or Cooper Out, it makes little difference. Football management is a results game and results are good enough right now.
  11. One defeat in the last 5 games (to Arsenal). Back to back wins now. Cooper is going nowhere.
  12. Genuinely thought the FA would come in for Steve Cooper during the international break and we would have swooped in for Tuchel. Looks like that ship has sailed now.
  13. Statue for Ward please.
  14. Win this please. A good cup run will do us wonders.
  15. It's fairly standard. If everyone who was convicted of indecent images of children offences were sent to prison, you'd need to double the number of prisons. Suspended sentences are typical in these cases. Whether that's right or wrong, is probably another discussion, but it is the way it is.
  16. Happy with that
  17. Just got back yesterday from 2 weeks away, using Birmingham. No issues at all. Baggage claim was a little slow but that wasn't the fault of the works going on.
  18. Three games in. New manager. New players. It's going to take some time. That said, Riccy P obviously needs to play and Ndidi should be nowhere near the number 10 position. We're going into the international break with a settled squad. First game back is against Palace who I consider in the same bracket as Fulham, then 5 of the next 6 games are against relegation rivals. We need to not be dropping unnecessary points in those games. I just don't see any point in changing things now. We are set for the season, we now have to be patient. Let's see where we are come the beginning of November. We'll either be right amongst it or cut adrift
  19. You see, could be worse. We could have a manager that is familiar with the squad from a whole season in the Championship, then spends 25m on a new keeper, then plays a relegation rival who have just lost their star striker, and then be 3-0 down with 20 minutes to go.
  20. You've perfectly summed up the 'Leicester way'.
  21. Good on her for grabbing her 15 minutes!
  22. Probably about 0.1m more than the 2nd bid.

    Wout Faes

It's time for his agent to earn his money. Selling a player is much easier than buying one. We just set a reserve and his agent can place him on the eBay of players. Getting personal terms agreed is more difficult, but we have to just say yes or no. I would think a minimum of £20m, maybe a tad less with suitable add ons. If a couple of clubs or more express an interest, then great as the price goes up. With PSR, we can't sell our best assets at knockdown prices just because he's had a difficult few weeks with a new manager. Faes is an elite level pro with a promising international career ahead of him. If a suitable bid doesn't emerge, he'll have to suck it up and make himself more attractive to potential suitors whilst wearing a Leicester shirt.
  24. Truly elite level sport is utterly cut-throat. You need players who have ambition to put everything to one side to become the very best they can be and a management structure that supports those ambitions and accepts nothing less than the very best from the individuals who they pay millions for every year. Soft and cuddly has it's place but accepting low standards doesn't. Having both at the same time is a disaster. With Seagrave, we have a facility that is capable of a foot in the door with elite level players, but accepting low standards from journeymen ruins it all.
