I don’t think anyone wants that. Even the best teams in the world don’t do that. It’s perfectly reasonable to find our approach a bit boring, often it is. The main crux of the issue is that the style Enzo is playing is meant to pull teams apart. We do that and then go backwards again, allowing them to regroup. I think the naysayers just want us to be more positive in those situations. We turned it up a notch against Swansea and scored 2 second half - then went straight back into our shell. That handed some initiative back to them. There was no need. We do it too often and don’t kill games we should.

Yes of course he does and that is fine. What isn’t fine is threatening to quit if people don’t support him. Seemed to me he was referring to fans which is ludicrous IF so. Players should support his vision anyway, he’s the boss. The board make their own decisions and that’s between them. It’s ok having a vision and a plan, but it has to be based in reality and reality is we, as fans, like exciting football. We love winning but we know what boring is.
-
How is that a double standard? He said if people don’t accept how he wants the team to play he will leave immediately - tomorrow. That’s a direct threat. No one here is saying if you don’t change how you’re setting the team up to play you should quit. Mostly it’s a desire to see us be more progressive within the style he’s trying to create. In addition try and mix it up occasionally. Who was he referring to when he said what he said? The fans it appears to me and that appears to be a ‘do not question me’ stance. Childish, like I said.
-
That inflexibility will ultimately cost him. People are allowed opinions, especially fans. I like Enzo but he can’t threaten people by saying he’ll leave. That’s just childish. Great managers are flexible, they have a main style but can vary things within that. We need to learn to exploit the spaces we create, not always go back and allow the opposition to reorganise. The very crux of his style is to pull teams around and make space. We have probably the best squad in the Championship, some might say by a significant margin. We should be winning games, most games. His approach will be seen more clearly in the Premier League and saying he doesn’t have the players to implement his style won’t be enough. It is his job to work with what he has. So far he has done very well indeed. It is boring at times - deadly boring. However, we sit at the top of the league 10 points clear. We should get promoted and that is a great achievement if we manage it. Doesn’t give him the right, though, to say people cannot question him.

I sensi this might not happen.
-
That won’t be enough though. To play this style successfully we will need probably 6 very good players. We’re not spending North of £100 million even with sales.
-
It will cost us next season and likely him too. I’m all for having a vision, but the great managers have flexibility and know when to change it. In general our players and squad are far superior to those in this league and so it would be the perfect time to experiment with mixing it up. I doubt Enzo will. I have grave concerns for next season, but I guess winning the Championship again the year after ain’t so bad.

Think it might be Enzo’s job to build a team with the mentality NOT to take their foot off the gas. We stepped it up for 10 mins in the 2nd half and scored twice. If we actually went for it who knows how many we could bag. Oh and just to add, the anti Daka brigade are embarrassing and appear to know feck all about football.
-
Probably win this. Likely be utterly boring again and far closer than it needs to be. Wish Enzo would just trust the players and let them cut loose a bit.

Nice cameo. Need to see more. Looked a little slow to me but didn’t see enough to truly tell.
-
An utterly boring game where we showed our frailties and turgidity once again. Could have won 5-0 and yet we were so slow, predictable and negative in patches.
-
Said to my son as soon as Daka missed that golden opportunity- Oh God, Foxestalk will be on that like a rash. Whole team playing arse and yet we should be 2/3-0 up.
-
Of course we are. Learnt from the Italians to be utterly unrealistic bastards.
-
Do you have a sauce for any of that utter gnocchisense?
-
can’t say as I’ve ever found you unpleasant Fuchy, indecipherable yes, but never unpleasant. Perhaps a modern consequence of having another opinion. How very dare you. as for the match tonight, I’m expecting 0-6. Heard it here first. You can all spank me later.

They thought £30 million was too much. Not going to £40 million are they. Don’t want to sell him anyway.
