Note the bit I said about starting in the next FY. I'm aware of the manoeuvring and we're likely talking sub £10m for the buying club on their accounts year 1, but it's still possible for some of them that it could be a tipping point. Unlikely but still a possibility
-
So we need to sell ASAP so it's in this year's accounts right? Anybody realised that the other clubs mooted might not be able to sign him because they want the transfer to start in next year's accounts? So add that to the possibility that he doesn't want to leave and it's not quite the slam dunk some people are making out

Jesus, an actual piece of decent football journalism. Whatever next
-
Definitely the physical side that's killed him. Actually think it's fair to see why he was so highly regarded as with an extra yard of pace and a bit of bulk, he could have been a top class full back. The caveat to that is it also relied on him continuing to show the defensive nous and attacking threat that he first showed when coming through, which sadly slowly disappeared.
-
Definitely better but Rutter being picked as the striker is ridiculous with his massive tally of 6 league goals in 45 league games
-
Isn't that what you get when you've been sat down too long?
-
What a fall from grace. Crazy how solid he was when he came in and that he was good going forward, with a brilliant delivery. Not seen any of that for so long. Fresh start needed for him

I've sat in the Kop at Anfield and the atmosphere was genuinely one of the worst I've ever experienced. European nights are different but I do think people get way too fixated on the ideals of these places rather than the reality. All clubs have worse atmospheres that they used to, including away ends, for many different reasons. And as I get older, I realise that the idea of a great atmosphere probably peaks when you're mid teens to early 20's

But it's highly pertinent given the charges were dropped and a lot of the evidence was made public? I was responding to somebody who didn't know about the case so whilst not being specific, I was simply trying to give the context; which is, if the charges were not dropped there is a 99.99% he'd have been found guilty (even accounting for the protection famous people get). We're not talking about Benjamin Mendy or 'player x' from Everton where the evidence isn't public and refutable. I didn't know that she had a child with him until a few mins ago, and not did I know she had in fact got back together with him. So I think my assumptions were correct. Yes, I did suggest that money was involved but if you read what I actually said, you'll see that I also said that she is likely to have some serious issues, which is very sad. You're right, that she may indeed love him and human beings don't have a lot of control over who they do love. But, there is no way you don't have huge self-esteem or self-worth issues. And the idea that their relationship is 'otherwise strong' is absolutely laughable. It's one thing to do something by accident in a moment of anger and show immediate remorse but to do what he did is despicable and is the not the way you treat somebody you love or what any healthy relationship looks like. Let's not pretend that what happened was normal as is just something that happens on a relationship. It's not for me to decide who she can or can't be in a relationship with but don't expect anyone with a moral compass to sit there and not question it. And rather ironically, you've made it more mean spirited as I didn't know her name so was speculating/commenting on an unnamed person, and now it's an identifiable person... And don't forget that she leaked and published this information herself, only to then drop the charges, so she has opened herself up to scrutiny. I don't know the woman so have no personal vendetta against just stating that she is intrinsically linked to the case and her actions are highly relevant for a fuller and more complete situation, so that it's not a case of people suddenly thinking that as Greenwood wasn't found guilty in the legal system, it means he didn't do what he clearly did
-
Well the charges were dropped... (But there's audio evidence of what he said so pretty obvious he paid off the woman in question, and who's likely one of those girls who sadly, has some really insecurities so wouldn't suprise me if she went back to him). Let's just say he wasn't convicted, but the evidence is clear as day that he's guilty. Not sure abusive quite covers it.

Laughing because it's depressingly true.

Had plenty of talent and ability. The key thing was that he was so slow and lightweight. Meant he needed the whole game to be a lot slower. Add to to the one footedness and he was always going to struggle in the PL

I think you're taking it way to personally. There's no debate that he looked lazy at times (though I suspect that's his running style as much as anything) and that he was such a disappointment this year. And I totally understand why lots of people don't rate him or are frustrated by him, the latter of which applies to everyone I think. But, everything I've ever heard from the guy or from people who have met him, say that he's probably the most humble bloke you'd ever met. If there's one thing I'd say about him, it's he has a complete lack of self-belief and seems the type who needs an arm around the shoulder at all times; a key reason he's never flourished as he should. Honestly, that top was just a bit odd. Maybe an attempt at humour, maybe a sly dig at some people but certainly not some attempt to upstage Vardy. Even if he is incredibly thick, I don't think even he would think he's going to get more love than Vardy! We wouldn't have won the FA Cup without him, so I think he's certainly proven he was important for us. Guess I just find it really odd that such a likeable (albeit frustrating) player would get the ire of some when he's leaving. Best move for all parties but can't you save up the hatred for when Danny Ward finally pisses off (known to be an arrogant tool although he is a fantastic goalkeeper)
-
First part maybe, but the second part? Not a chance. If he'd had that selfishness, he would have been stinking out the place like others and wouldn't have hung around the way Brenda treated him. Plus that single mindedness, or rather a lack of, is one of the very few things that held him back.
-
Huh? You said about the squad at its best? They finished 5th twice, won the FA Cup, Community shield. Had a crap season and still finished 8th. You said you felt that squad was in for a relegation scrap each year? Probably finished where it should have done based on player quality really. Team that went down wasn't the same in terms of how much some of those players had declined and losing others but if they'd just been a bit crap, we'd have stayed up easily. Unfortunately they were utter dross with a clown in charge. Squad is way weaker now, of course. And as I said, the feeling of this being simply a blip relied on lots of things coming back together for us and that's obviously not happening, and has gone the other way. As I said, that was a realistic aspiration 6 months ago but now it's absolutely survival and at costs and as you say, so much investment is needed with the changes off the pitch to get us back to feeling like a solid PL team which is so depressing.
-
It was more than there were still players who'd shown their peak was at that level and the hop that they might rediscover their form. And the fact that Leicester now have a recent history that separates us from other clubs outside the top 6? Not suggesting we'd be straight back in competing for CL places, but it wasn't completely unrealistic to think that if we managed things well (and that's obviously a big if for us!) it might have only set us back a couple of years. Sadly, that's not going to happen now
-
And I thought I was pessimistic! At its absolute best the starting XI and some of the bench were quality, just the odd position where it was lacking (wingers aside from Barnes). You only have to look at where some of those players went and the fees to see that
-
Amazing what a difference a few months makes. Before the PSR stuff and lack of Jan signings, it seemed entirely feasible that we could aim for the top half and get quite close to being back where we were in the development of the club, purely because the lure of playing for Leicester is actually a thing given the past decade. Unfortunately, things have fallen off a cliff since then and it's survival at all costs. So depressing that all that hard work has been undone. Our bad seasons (for the next 10-20 years) could have been mid table finishes in the PL and instead they're now going to be relegation or mid table in the championship.
-
Not massively bothered by it myself but it's a pretty crap look given how awful the ownership has been the last couple of years. And as you say, it's about the players and the club. Do you not think that detracts from the players achievements and must be petty galling that a bunch of no marks are sharing their moment? And again, for supporters who want to feel close to the team, there's a bunch of people with no connection to the club who are able to get closer and be more involved in the celebrations. Think it just reinforces the feelings of this club becoming King Power FC for some

It's been real up and down with Enzo this year. Such a breath of fresh air and immediately likeable. Then his stubborness, lack of flexibility and some handling of certain off the field incidents eroded a lot of that good will, and the latter certainly tarnished his image a man of principles. But there have since been a few signs that he might be willing to adapt. Either way, it's imperative he's here next season. This club needs continuity and when you spend a year embedding a specific style of play, to then abandon that would be pretty bad. Not to mention the love the players have for him.
-
Context is the key here. Rodgers was here for several years with the club in a decent financial position and he slowly took control of the recruitment of very average players on a lot of money. And of course more broadly than that, he ruined the club, threw the fans under the bus etc. Enzo is saying things at a time when we've had success, and the financial issues are very severe. He had to have known to an extent but looks at the club's arrogant attitude over the whole situation would suggest that things were hidden from him. Completely agree with the power aspect, for the reason with Rodgers above

Vestergaard has been good this season but nowhere near as good as some would make out. Got such an easy role in this team and you saw how embarrassing it was when he went up against anyone with pace (Jackson in the FA cup). Still, with money tight, and a bit of continuity, I'd keep him. Rather Faes go tbh. Reckon Coady will work his way back in next year with a proper pre season
-
Shame how it's panned out. Think he's his own worst enemy in that he doesn't have that drive or self-belief to really push himself to be the player he could be. Could have been so different if he wasn't completely mismanaged by Brenda when he did finally get going. Seems like a really nice guy. Wish him all the best

What an earth does the mentality of a national team have to do with club football? Why did Manchester City win the Champions League last year then? Why do Belgium do well in international football but don't have any teams in the latter stages of the Champions League? Why haven't PSG won the Champions League. The answer is because of the quality of the players. The reality is that aside from the very top teams in France, the difference in quality of Ligue 1 and the Championship isn't that much at all largely because of the money involved. Faes has struggled at times in this league and the step up to the Premier League was clearly too much for him last year so there are major doubts over him next year. I know that English isn't your first language but I genuinely have no idea what point you're trying to make? Are you related to Wout to be so defensive of him?

Pissed myself when he got booed
