Well that would still be a marked improvement from letting lads a couple of years older just rot in the reserves or not even get on the pitch when they do finally make the matchday squad.

Herein lies the problem, and I don't mean your decision. It's just that the second you step outside, you're straight back to the queue so it makes it nigh on impossible for a ST to take a moral stand. Even as a member and somebody who's never had a chance to get a ST and likely never will, you get trapped in that cycle.

Thing is, we still have absolutely no idea who is responsible for those decisions because there's no transparency. Regardless, it is actually a pretty thick decision to piss off to the other side of the world. Purely to keep up appearances and at least give the illusion that Top is doing everything he can to help the club stay up. Instead he's playing bloody Polo of all things . I agree that in reality it's unlikely to have much of an impact but the bloke can't even do basic PR well so what chance is there of him being vaguely competent as an Executive?

Nope. Football sold it's soul a long time ago and it's just a matter of time until the super league comes back, so would rather some potential success. Ultimately, we just want somebody competent who will run the club in a way that gives us a good chance at success. Mistakes will be made but if a new owner showed they were willing to try and adapt, that would be all we can ask for.

Need to try something different but 3 at the back is the hardest system to play well, in terms of carrying some attacking intent. We'd also either have no pace in the wing backs which completely limits the attacking ability, or in the 3 centre halves and then with our lack of protection in the middle, we'll be even more overrun. And unless Daka and Mavididi are in, no pace to get in behind. We're going to concede goals whatever so feels like what we need is the ability to actually turn teams round and face their own goal. Ridiculous to say but Justin is about the only player who does that at the moment and that's a horribly out of form fullback

Why does it have to be a massive spend though of players we're lumbered with for years? It's possible to show some intent and try and get players in on loan or at least gamble on a few cheaper players in the hope they can make an impact. Choosing to do absolutely nothing was not the answer. The other thing to factor in is that is staying in the PL (even with some points deduction) vs going down has a huge reputational impact. We're now a bigger club than lots of people give us credit for and whilst scraping survival would not have got us back to that title of 'best of the rest', staying up definitely means plenty of players look at Leicester' relegation as a blip and think that we're a proper PL club. Going down again will completely eradicate that as the perception is now just of us as a yo-yo club.

Unfortunately, it's not really in his interest to walk out. If he's already left 1 job after 'falling out' with the board, if he does so again, no matter how justified, that's going to really harm his rep, probably more than getting relegated will.

Even just for a straight £10m we could get far better players, let alone when you look at it with the PSR angle. There is 0 sense in turning it down. Utter madness.

Any wide player with a bit of pace is an improvement on what we have.

But how is is style actually similar? The only think that he can do similarly to Soyuncu is his long range passing. He doesn't have the pace of Soyuncu which allowed him to take risks in terms of positioning and going into challenges. I have never seen Faes totally dominant an opposing attacker in the way that Soyuncu did. He doesn't have the same physicality. Whilst decent at bringing the ball out, he can't do it in the way Soyuncu did. I understand why you're trying to make that comparison, but they are not actually similar in style. If you can't do the same things as another player in your role can (let alone do as well) then you're not a similar style of defender. Even JV was at his best in terms of front foot defending last year but you wouldn't describe him as similar to Soyuncu. I think that's part of Faes problem in that he doesn't have a single role in defence that he can do well. Can't be the front foot defender ala Soyuncu/Fofana, hasn't got the concentration to be a proper backs to the wall defender (though that is his best role), doesn't have the composure/decision making to play as the quarterback and doesn't have the positional awareness/pace to play as wide centre back. He's just not very good at anything and on top of that, has as shocking attitude. Telling that so many people would put JV ahead of him who is also not up to it at this level.
