Early 2000s when I was a kid I went to a game against Pompey where afterwards my uncle took me to The Turnstile so he could have a few more beers. I remember there being real concern from police as they were gathered outside and Portsmouth fans were heading towards looking for a scrap. There was a fat, bald man kicking off inside about wanting to go and fight them and he was trying to ignite a chair with a lighter so they'd have to evacuate the pub. He tried to pour some of his beer on the chair to act as some kind of igniter but was unsuccessful in his attempts. It's not the most glamorous story but it's still in head 25 years later. Also, a personal favourite was bonding with Stoke fans a few seasons ago on the walk back to the train station when they kept shouting "Sid" at my mate who is a dead ringer for the sloth from Ice Age. Poor b*stard.
