Teams are undoubtedly targeting Thomas (& Mavididi offers little support). To be fair King Power have also targeted him by offering him a 4 year deal 🤣. He’s crap but somehow the powers that be see something in him that barely any of our fans do.
-
Another abysmal showing. We offer no threat whatsoever.
-
If you think that the use of the adjective ‘exceptional’ belongs remotely in the same sentence as Thomas, Stolarczyk & Okoli, then I hope that you received the Oxford English Dictionary as a Xmas present this year to enlighten you as to what the word exceptional actually means. It’s not the same as piss poor!
-
We’ve recently offered Luke Thomas a 4 year contract and he’s only got one leg so Antonio sounds perfect for us on a similar 4 year contract! It could only come true at LCFC

He’s crap but somebody has deemed him worthy of a new 4 year contract. This decision epitomises our piss poor player recruitment/retention -

Totally disjointed 2nd half. No legs whatsoever and that ‘midfield’ that we had on display for the last 20 mins is just so physically weak. We’re just not very good in all honesty and when you look at the likes of Barnes, KDH & Maddison (when fit) that have moved on, they are literally in a different league to this shower. We’ve not really been in control of a game for 90 mins all season. Our demise has been alarming! -
All 3 are surely worth renewing their contacts and extending them at this point in time 😬
-
Yeah and all the idiots at the time on FT saying things like ‘I hope that we don’t ease off when we get 6 or 7 ahead’. We didn’t even win that game with any conviction. Marti’s clearly got to go and the incoming manager needs to clear out the deadwood (& be backed to do so). I cannot recall a home game this season where we ran out comfortable/deserved winners.

It’s called sarcasm pal 👍 Sorry beaten to it.
-
I’m far from convinced that he has genuine pace even at this level. When have we truly seen him outstrip a defender on the run? I cannot recall an occasion when I’ve thought ‘Wow look at him go’. Couple this with his lack of anticipation and his lack of physicality, it’s easy to see how even average defenders keep him shackled.
-
Exactly - Winks had nobody to play football with later in the second half. He’s technically head & shoulders above the 2nd half midfield replacements that he was subjected to.

I don’t know what you saw to make that claim. Every sub was a downgrade on the replaced player bar Daka because he and Caranza are both equally crap. -
This team has very few goals in it. No threat from midfield from Winks/Soumare/Skipp. No threat from Mavididi who is really poor atm. No real threat from Ayew as a 9. No threat from set-pieces. It’s really depressing to see what we’ve become.

He’s different class in this league. To be fair he appeared to be a model pro under Maresca in terms of his attitude. Probably hugely disappointed personally by the appointments of Cooper & RVN that followed - not surprising. It wasn’t his fault that that RVN changed the expectations re: overnight stay (something that was not required of him beforehand) & given his circumstances, he had every right to refuse in my book. It was like night and day when he came off the bench on Saturday to dictate the tempo and direction of our play in the second half.
-
Soumare spends his time on the shoulder of his opponent when we are in possession (never really making the effort to receive the ball, other than to wall-pass it back to the CB’s) and then he’s 5yds behind his opponent when we’re out of possession! Their goal yesterday epitomised his lack of commitment. Winks has to start & a Winks & Skipp pairing would be better IMO. Replace Skipp with Ricardo when fully fit.
-
Winks changed it for us today. Sets the tempo just as he did last time he played at this level. Just wants to get on the ball (& his teammates are happy to give it to him) unlike Soumare who hides behind players rather than offer. Poor old Skipp will never be able to play the more advanced role that he had today but I think he would be better alongside Winks than Soumare will be. Monga made a great cameo performance - a mature showing for such a young prospect.

Being a keeper yourself, how did you rate his ability to command his box at corners, free kicks and when crosses were sent in, then? Having played at a decent standard myself, I never felt that he had the physical stature to impose himself and this was a definite area of weakness. -
I don’t see us beating either of them. For me, although the points tally does not reflect it, we are comfortably the worst team in the Prem sadly.
-
All strikers miss the odd chance (& yes he’s missed a few good chances this season) but even the best strikers in the league would struggle to create goal scoring chances with the dreadful service that he has to endure.
-
Even prime Vardy would struggle to score with the absolute dearth of creativity that we possess in midfield. Crikey, trying to get Ndidi or Soumare to pick out a slide pass inside the defender that he requires is just too much. He’s never been a player to individually beat 2-3 defenders or more with high levels of individual skill before scoring but we’ve currently got nobody capable of finding him with a half decent pass or cross (usually a cut back required). With the right service he’d still be capable of double figures in the Prem & significantly more in the Championship. He’s not the problem!
-
We’ve even reached the depths of rewording the chant to: ’Come back Maguire, come back Maguire W—e need you We’ve now got these two The mess is fu****king massive!’
-
Shame that this squad don’t possess this guy’s level of desire. Get well soon Nigel
-
Careful what you say, they visit the KP soon - we’re no better sadly.
-
He got a tune playing us twice so not much of a bloody tune to be fair.

On this weekend’s evidence, how do some people still believe that Saints & Ipswich are somehow worse than Cooper’s ‘team’? United beat us without a whimper and Liverpool would destroy us. We asked no questions of Chelsea. Thank Christ he’s gone - the squad is weak, signings have been poor (BEK looks potentially useful) but there’s no way he was keeping us up. It must have been horrendous for the players to go from Maresca’s attention to detail - I didn’t always appreciate his football but I appreciated the way he instilled his blueprint right from Week 1 - to Cooper’s seemingly laissez-faire approach. Praying for a progressive appointment (but fear that it won’t be!)
