My hope is with Chaplin now being fit he will start and the excuse for Skipp being in there was experience. However I fear I’m being optimistic and he drops straight back to the bench for some other turd.

Yeh but to be fair most decent players in their 30s have had one or two serious injuries. It might not pay off he might get injured again first game, but so might any new signing with no recent history of one.

Bit surprised by the negativity. My first thought was good solid signing. Appreciate the nervousness of falling into an Ayew etc mistake but the squad at the moment in my mind lacks a striker or two and a bit of promotion experience. These two signings would look to address that. This is going to be another long hard season, against teams that will mostly defend and we’ll be on away pitches that (particularly during the winter) will cut up. We need a few characters to drag us through games that aren’t going our way and him and Chaplin were part of an Ipswich team that scored a lot of late goals. Not saying it should be at the detriment of giving minutes to the young players - there will be a lot of game time available particularly when the injuries inevitably start.

We live in a world where corruption is so unpunished that people don’t care about how obvious it now is. No point trying to compare it to the foul by Messi on Spence. These decisions aren’t football related.

When I think I can't get any angrier with this club they do something like this. We are the absolute pits. I can only think that it's got to the point where Top and Rudkin are doing this to spite us as some kind of revenge for protesting. There is no way either of them have the best interests of the club at heart and they're proving it with every decision.

I don’t think he’s ready (hopefully one day) and as someone has said we can’t take the risk. However, if the other option is Russell Martin, then fk it give him the job.

What the f is going on with our game. He has caught the ball to bring it under control. Nico Williams clears it if not. How are you allowed to gain an advantage in that way. Is it ineptitude or corruption? I can only think the former because there’s nothing riding on this game!

I don’t mind the foul decision, I can understand it, but there are fouls on at least three players West Ham players - so they’re picking only one foul because it’s the goalie (who has been incredibly weak). I think it’s either a goal or a penalty.

Not only that, the player looks over his shoulder twice before stepping in that direction to block him (instead standing on his foot). It’s blatant. Incredible he’s not given it.

Yep, and social media fuels perception. I'm certain now that we've become a ungovernable country. It's all about gotcha politics and I don't see how we row back from that any time soon. I was thinking the other day I can't think of any player who has said sorry. It's all messages like "disappointed", "not what we wanted", "fell short", "difficult season". f' off. How about I'm sorry I'm paid more than most championship squads and managed to get relegated.
