I don't need analytics to tell me our players don't work hard enough off the ball, won't put it in the box, don't create enough chances and don't look fit enough. I don't need 20 spreadsheets full of data to tell me our keeper is shite, we pass too much and we cannot defend on the transition. Any match going fan can see the problems for free. A complete waste of a role.

If the idiot wants to talks stats we're 14th in League Two with 2 wins from 7 games and already lost 2 out of 3 home games, one of them 0-4. He simply cannot come out fighting like that when he's had such a shocking start with nothing to back up the arrogance....digging his own grave...it's just a matter of time anyway before he's gone.

In terms of the suicidal playing out from the back, at least with McCarthy in goal - I'm hoping that Riis will give us more of an out ball to go long a bit more and take less risks, with more chance of him holding the ball up, flicking it on or winning free kicks to get us up the pitch. Currently we don't have that physical presence to enable that....we will see

I'm all for giving managers a chance, especially after having so many in the last 4/5 years. But lose to MK and don't beat Plymouth and he's on very thin ice I'm afraid. A bit of pragmatism and variation in our play instead of this suicidal obsession with playing out from the back and we might stand a chance. Otherwise we are going to continue to make mistakes and leak goals.

A bit better with the younger players but still doubts remain… Some nice pretty patterns but the same old problems that aren’t going to go away. Notably super-risky passing out from the back putting us in trouble, no variation in our play making us predictable and a complete lack of cutting edge in the final third. How long is the ‘philosophy’ going to be more important than results.

Another reflection on Saturday's shambles. How bad was Tom Watson? Maybe he's lacking match fitness but he looked like he's been plucked from the west stand. First touch was shocking, got in everyone's way and gave it away countless times.

It's one thing to play BDR in the number 9 role which he blatantly cannot do, but even in the deeper number 10 position he doesn't excel. He should be nowhere near the starting 11 in any position.

I can't believe we are still persisting with him. He hasn't learnt a thing since he broke through. His starting position is all wrong, he can't get decisions right, his right foot is non existent meaning he has to chop inside onto his left all the time, his body shape and positioning is all over the shop when he's one on one, he looks unfit and he cannot maintain concentration. I think he'd genuinely struggle in the National League North. Fair play to him for squeezing a life changing salary out of the club for so long. Stealing a living.

What annoyed me was the amount of loose balls and 50/50s we seemed to lose. Whether the stats back it up I don’t know but we seemed a yard slower sometimes. Hoping it’s first game lack of sharpness but time will tell. If we don’t learn quickly we’ll be too far behind to claw it back.

My big concern is RM sticks with the same wasters that got us here in the first place, namely Thomas, Mavididi etc.... Mentally fragile, error prone and in Mavididi's case, he looks for intent and purposes to have thrown the towel in. I hope RM is brave, plays the Bosnian from the start and throws the new players in. Otherwise why have we signed them if they're not ready? Notts will be bang up for it and won't let us have it our own way for sure.

As it stands today we are heading into the competitive season with no senior striker in the squad, despite the 'recruitment team' knowing months ago this was going to be the case and having the best part of a year to identify targets and start the process. Yes elements of recruitment so far may look decent on paper (I shall reserve judgement until the season is underway), but to be in this situation is unforgivable yet again. What are they playing at? Why are our processes so slow? RUDKIN OUT | KING POWER OUT
