Why would you make a plan to sign players you can’t afford? If that’s what’s happened heads should roll

I think we'll sign the left back from Copenhagen, and a centre back on loan and that's it. Feels like all our eggs are in the Gonzalez basket as far as a winger is concerned, and looks like we'll get priced out of that one. The board and recruitment team have had months to plan and execute the transfer strategy for this window and not to land targets in our dire situation is absolutely unforgivable. At the moment i'm more convinced than ever we are going down. This bunch of players don't have the stomach for a dogfight, mentally they're far too fragile. The manager has completely lost the plot. Maybe a different manager might have an impact but it's still doubtful. We're screwed and a lot of this is on Top and the board for allowing us to sleepwalk into this position.

But you only have to look outside of this at the players' body language, the unwillingness to track back, the half hearted challenges, the arguing on the pitch, the lack of desire to do the ugly side when we don't have the ball to understand we are well and truly f********d unless there's a change of manager. Every day he's here we're more likely to go down. How and why they haven't pulled the trigger by now is beyond belief because they're putting the club's very future at risk by sticking with him. Top and the board are as culpable as Rodgers in all this.

The question is do we believe he can motivate the squad to get us out of this mess, and I have no confidence he can. So the board need to act in my opinion. The team needs fresh ideas, more positivity and a kick up the backside.

It feels like a commercial decision over riding what's best for supporters, which, despite all the free beers and donuts, shows you what the club's real attitude to the fans is.

Make no mistake, anything other than 3 points and the pressure is on big time. Rodgers needs to start earning his corn and the team need to show some fight and desire that was sadly lacking on Saturday. A draw or defeat and it's the beginning of the end I feel. Rodgers is a coach in my opinion who's great when things are going well but struggles to find the answers to problems when things aren't going so well. I'm increasingly worried about this season and where we might end up. It's early days, but i don't see anything other than a big struggle to stay in the league.
