I think the 2023 figure was wrong on that. It was 9000+ which for 7 games is 1,300 per match, when you subtract rain hit days/games over before day 4, there’s no way we were getting that many. The 2024 figure is likely a lot closer to the 2023 reality.

The good thing about being in division 1 is that we’ll be playing teams that bring bigger crowds (Notts, Yorkshire, Somerset for example). As long as the team are competitive I think there’ll be more engagement and the new CEO seems to have her head switched on in terms of squeezing everything out of the resources that we already have. The couple of times I’ve been ‘the plaza’ has been great. Live bands, loads of food stalls, the players doing a walk through of the crowd before the game. Really enjoyable experience and you get to see a bunch of players proud to represent our city!
