  1. So we tax the people working their arse off everyday then? Those who have little to begin with?
  2. Rehan getting a central contract should hopefully be enough to keep him here! Good that Hull has got something too! A great day for the club and its academy.
  3. He was slightly before my time interested in politics but his Wikipedia page is a greatest hits when it comes to the worst of the worst. The worst excess of American neo-conservatism, culpable for the death of hundreds of British soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq as well as the absolute destruction of a fairly stable country and ultimately the rise of ISIS. A truly horrible piece of work. Rest in hell Dick.
  4. Compared to what Reeves is about to do, why would ‘tax wealth, not work’ be a bad idea? She should go after the ultra rich rather than the masses. If they leave the country then fine, seize their assets.
  5. Dick Cheney dead, if hell exists let’s hope a space is reserved for that man.
  6. Believe there are reports that he was known to MH services and was shouting to the devil, which while presumptuous, isn’t something that somebody with general anxiety disorder does
  7. I think if Australia produced 5 roads, England would probably win the series as it would negate their greatest strength (bowling) and suit ours (batting). However if it’s anything like the India series in the summer, it’ll be 4-1 to the Aussies I reckon. We’ve relied on Duckett a lot up top and he looks in atrocious nick across all formats currently. He could turn it around of course. Pope should play at 3 but they’ll pick Bethell, which means our hopes will be pinned on how well Root and Brook do. I really hope Root has a stormer to shut the critics up. Brook? Well who knows, we know he’s a world class batter but has a bad temperament which he won’t get away with in Aus. Bowling, we just have to mix it up, pace won’t be everything, accuracy will be key, I’m not sure we have the depth in our bowling even if we have a large number of them. Aussie batting line up is arguably even weaker than the early 2010’s but we had a sensational team then to take advantage. My fear is that Smith, Marnus and Head just about do enough.
  8. Think you’re getting mixed up with the Nottingham case? There, the guy didn’t turn up for his medication reviews and instead of getting followed up, he got discharged, stopped taking his meds and then went off the deep end. Mental health services are massively understaffed and staff overpressured, the system cannot cope and more people get missed, not just in terms of harm to others but harm to self too.
  9. Based on everything I’ve read, I won’t be surprised if we hear ‘detained under the mental health act’ in the next few days. What is incredible is the response by the train driver, staff and people behind the scenes, making decisions under extreme pressure that by the look of it has prevented an awful event becoming utterly cataclysmic.
  10. If my maths are correct, that’s 26 goals in 16 games for Man City and Norway for Haaland so far this season.
  11. West Ham and Forest will pick up form, Leeds and Burnley will plod along but likely be 18th and 19th come 2026.
  12. How is MON 73? Looks fitter than most 40 year olds
  13. Rodgers is far too narcissistic to take that wolves job by the way.
  14. I was thinking more medium/long term. You can manage political violence through lots of different techniques from intelligence, community initiatives and if need be, police and military action through the justice system. On the other hand, random acts of violence with no political motives are the sign of a very sick society.
  15. How can a person be in a life threatening condition and then few hours later be discharged from hospital? Is it purely a blood loss thing?
  16. Bizarrely I find this sort of violence without a political aim even more terrifying than the alternative.
  17. Watch the first series of Sunderland till I die again, were that club now except that Sunderland had already started implementing changes before their second relegation.
  18. Apparently there is a police HQ literally next door to the station
  19. Not good news from Cambridgeshire ☹️☹️
  20. Just reading about Yitzhak Rabin who was assassinated 30 years ago today. Seems like we could be living in a completely different world if that event didn’t happen
  21. She was loyal to king power but could no longer stay loyal to such blatant corruption?
  22. I’m stunned how long this is going on for and nothing seems to be being said about. The US government has literally ceased to function while fartface is going around threatening to irradiate the Nevada desert.
  23. So she should be, being the chancellor of a Western European country right now is an impossible job.
  24. Starmer’s going to sack Reeves before the budget I think. Gives him a fresh economic start and he can blame it all on her.
  25. Maniac Trump wants to start testing nukes again while his new nominee for the head of Stratcom tells senate that there’s zero need for it and everyone else saying it would lead to Russia and China testing too, and catching up on the advantage USA has over them. What a fool.
