  1. I'm pleased it's happened. Compensation money in the bank and we can now appoint a pragmatic manager who will give us a chance of stopping up in adverse circumstances, it's going to be a blessing in (a fairly transparent) disguise. Thanks for getting us up Enzo - no ill will against the man and hope he does well at Chelsea.
  2. Crikey. What are Ipswich playing at. On the other hand if he keeps them up it's worth every penny.
  3. Not surprising tbh, he's done wonders for the club and took them out the mire after getting on for 20 years of dross, I'd say in many ways he's their Nigel Pearson, actually even more so as they were in the doldrums even longer than we were and he did it in 2 and a half seasons. Im sure to many younger fans he has a God like status much like NP did / does here and he goes with their gratitude.
  4. Feel hugely for Ipswich if he goes, but let's also be real, he's got then back to the promised land, and even if they drop back down, with the parachute money he's established them as a top half Championship side (imo where they should be) rather than a mid table league one side which is where they were when he came in. There can't be too much bitterness from Ipswich fans once they accept he's off
  5. Be real mate they're a much more appealing club than us as it stands and sadly a step up. It feels weird but history is just that history.
  6. Based on what evidence? I think this season shows otherwise, Ipswich were a shadow of their usual selves without Hurst look how their form tailed off when he was injured.
  7. What exactly is a szmodics? He wears number 8 indicating a box to box midfielder and isn't leading the line but I've seen many clips of him scoring goals through running onto through balls and being the most advanced player - what is his role exactly? Striker or Am?
  8. Glad to see other posters have already shot down this ridiculous post. Yes them getting promotion has outshone us winning the league but it's a much more impressive achievement, just be happy for them.
  9. So so happy for Ipswich. @liz@Lizzibee congrats to you and all the town fans. I'm almost as happy for you as I am for us. The perfect season for me with City going up along with my adopted second team. Willing us both to stop up next year, although I fear we are doomed. Ipswich if they can keep McKenna have a good shot at it I'd say.
  10. I agree they are so bland and corporate, and bring back white shorts FFS it looks like we're wearing some uniform rather than a kit when all blue. Would even welcome gold to break up the blue
  11. FFS Ipswich. Stop bloody bottling. Can see what's going to happen, they will draw or lose Vs Cov, then draw 0-0 Vs Huddersfield and Leeds will squeak in.
  12. We were extremely lucky Vs West Brom in that we could have conceded 3 or 4 another day, however we took that luck and ran with it. So we're ruthless at least. Hamza has bottle though, and if course JV, I'd be keeping him around for sure.
  13. Ipswich and Leicester by a mile. The championship title while nice is ultimately meaningless, we've won the Prem and FA cup.
  14. Yaaaaaas we're bloody going up!!
  15. As long as they leave Viagra on the bench, he's rock solid
  16. I do find it frustrating that he does the same thing every single time and has so little variation but yeah he's young. If he's still playing like this in a couple of years though he will amount to very little
  17. Brilliant stuff sir you've made me literally shit myself laughing. Luckily I was on the toilet at work so no harm done.
  18. Yeah I guess you're right. I feel we did really well in this tight defensive games earlier on in the season, all those second half goals etc. but recently you're right the open and less tactical games may suit us more. Maybe the players have lost confidence in the system and therefore lost some patience to break down awkward defensive blocks as we've lost form
  19. I'm not sure we do struggle against a low block actually. All teams do to some extent - especially when said side have a plan to counter as well - hence why Atlético Madrid have been punching for years. But for me that's one of our strengths scoring against ultra defensive sides I'd say it more Leeds who struggle against this tactic. I'd rather play bus parkers than a side who press us effectively and target our defensive weaknesses.
  20. Hmmm, a team who always win at our place, whilst we are in bad form and the crowd are mutinous. This is going to be ugly. We'll have 75% plus of possession and end up still losing 2 or 3 nil.
  21. Unbelievable, Leeds are just as big bottlers as us. It's a bottle-fest. Feel Ipswich will bottle it too as well. It's so hard to call. 2 of us will crawl over the line eventually and then get absolutely obliterated next year
  22. I hate this club. We are Manchester United light. All the money and resources in the world and piss it away, nobody truly cares. Overrated bald manager, players who are good until they come to our club. **** Leicester. Wish this was 2014 again because that side had passion and grit and won against the odds, rather than losing against the odds.
