  1. Belgium remind me of us under peak Rodgers, great front foot football but never clinical enough and always with the possibility of a defensive error in them, should be up 4 or 5 here
  2. Yeah, I think it could have been a hell of a lot worse. He's shown he can win playing possession style football, he's also shown he can be a real backs to the wall pragmatist. Beggars can't be choosers.
  3. WOAT, what an utter bellend he was
  4. Portugal toothless when faced with having to break down a low block, some things never change
  5. Ferran Torres is shite isn't he? Every time I see him he looks weak, technically lacking and makes our decisions. But he plays for Barcelona and Spain. What am I missing?
  6. Yeah that's true they are definitely lacking a really top forward/ line leader and also some physicality I'd say. Morata can be good on his day but too inconsistent
  7. Not done a predictor but I can see us being knocked out by France at the semis stage, winner being from the other side of draw possibly Germany? Spain if they play without fear could be a force to be reckoned with too but I don't think they are defensively strong enough to win it. Portugal will be there or thereabouts too
  8. Absolutely. You feel that if both bought their A games or pressure free games, Zverev might have been the favourite, like he'd probably beat Carlos as often as not in an exhibition match, but one of Alcaraz's great qualities is his mental strength and that's what separates him from the Zverevs and Medvedevs of this world.
  9. Pleased that Alcaraz beat Zverev who was a miserable whiny git. Alcaraz is something special, his mental fortitude and will to win is very Nadal esque or dare I say it Djokovic, whereas Zverev cannot seem to handle the heat when pressure is really on
  10. Haha good point. Maybe we need to bring back the invisible Andy King to get away with it!
  11. Moyes in. Back 5 of 3 backs to the wall defenders in souttar, vesty and Coady plus 2 full backs staying home, wilf and winks screening in front, KDH breaking forward to support a counter attacking three of fats, Mav and the GOAT. Pick up a few 1 Nils at home, grab a few spawny wins and stalemates on the road, get to about 45-50 pointa which should keep us up unless the points deduction is into double figures - job done, we move on with a more adventurous style and new manager or the next year and Moyes leaves with our thanks and a hefty staying up bonus.
  12. Would be really keen on Carlos Corberan. I think he'd get the best of KDH and Ndidi and probably Conor Coady too. Failing that as much as it pains me to say it David Moyes would probably keep us up. We need someone fairly pragmatic, essentially. Dyche would have been perfect if he wasn't at Everton
  13. McKenna has signed a new contract at Ipswich. Can't figure out how to embed the tweet
  14. Not arsed if he stays or goes, almost totally indifferent, which is a really strange feeling to have about a manager, normally a position which inspires very binary feelings. Probably says it all tbh!
  15. I'm pleased it's happened. Compensation money in the bank and we can now appoint a pragmatic manager who will give us a chance of stopping up in adverse circumstances, it's going to be a blessing in (a fairly transparent) disguise. Thanks for getting us up Enzo - no ill will against the man and hope he does well at Chelsea.
  16. Crikey. What are Ipswich playing at. On the other hand if he keeps them up it's worth every penny.
  17. Not surprising tbh, he's done wonders for the club and took them out the mire after getting on for 20 years of dross, I'd say in many ways he's their Nigel Pearson, actually even more so as they were in the doldrums even longer than we were and he did it in 2 and a half seasons. Im sure to many younger fans he has a God like status much like NP did / does here and he goes with their gratitude.
  18. Feel hugely for Ipswich if he goes, but let's also be real, he's got then back to the promised land, and even if they drop back down, with the parachute money he's established them as a top half Championship side (imo where they should be) rather than a mid table league one side which is where they were when he came in. There can't be too much bitterness from Ipswich fans once they accept he's off
  19. Be real mate they're a much more appealing club than us as it stands and sadly a step up. It feels weird but history is just that history.
  20. Based on what evidence? I think this season shows otherwise, Ipswich were a shadow of their usual selves without Hurst look how their form tailed off when he was injured.
  21. What exactly is a szmodics? He wears number 8 indicating a box to box midfielder and isn't leading the line but I've seen many clips of him scoring goals through running onto through balls and being the most advanced player - what is his role exactly? Striker or Am?
