Played a 7 a side tournament at Elland Rd and he was our pro. It was some gimmicky day out. Genuinely a class bloke for what it’s worth. Didn’t come across as the cocky pr1ck he did as a player whatsoever.

Am I correct saying our only options up front are Vardy and Daka? Wolves must be worried!
-
Anything remotely difficult decisions always go their way, the officials would much rather get it wrong in their favour than anyone else’s. Not that it was even close anyway, it was about 20 yards directly in-front of him.

Everton 4-0 LCFC, post match thread

Don’t worry, Connor Coady will enlighten us with something truly inspirational and everything will be ok. -
I’ve always thought signing in January is purely necessary for: 1. Replacing outgoings - have we lost anyone other than Hamza? 2. Gap fill long term injuries - can lead to overpaying on a fee as is the nature of the window (short term) and a bloated squad, over paying in wages (long term). 3. To get over the line - again, doesn’t always work and leads to extra financial burden long term. A properly assembled squad in summer, along with sensible, productive outgoing loans SHOULD cover a club for a season barring any long term injuries to key players. The time, value and opportunity to integrate players/manager is there in the summer. Yet we end up scrambling around then too, so we have no hope for a successful January. It’s hit a point where I dread signing players because you can see where it’s going. Massive fees and wages relative to the players quality/potential. It was more exciting trying to sign Maynard and Mackail-Smith than what we’re doing now, which speaks volumes!

I agree with the sentiment but I don’t think this phrase helps with the stigma. I am impartial on almost all subjects, as I can imagine this post might come across as a bit ‘soft’. Other peoples lives don’t interest me much, each to their own and all that, in all respects. However, it just reads wrong (negative connotations) for something you’re trying to champion.

His career in football is over. Whether his personal/professional stresses caused his ill judged decisions is another matter I guess. I think there’s more to this. Whether a tabloid had more on him and this is a story (not meaning made up fwiw) for them to sell rather than some other, more crippling truths? He may just be lining up a book/autobio to line his pockets. Either way, as many have said. Excuses after the fact don’t fly. They come across as a deflecting tactic and I’d imagine, nobody actually cares.

That got me

Would there be any reason this has been done after the PSR outcome? Could it be Top trying to free up some avoidable outgoings (interest) for a final push to bring signings in. Last chance saloon to secure his asset’s worth?

Could we get some context when starting a thread like this please I’m lost! -
Ferrari is the prestige, but I think they must have a car Hamilton likes for him to go there. Doesn’t seem like someone who’s racing for the money, he’s hungry.

Cheers mate, I tried GolfShot but the app seemed to want me to be playing golf 24/7 telling me I’m 8km from the green randomly 😂 it must know I’m really bad and think I’m playing! I play at the Manor (Driglington) and Willow Valley (Brighouse). I work over your way and there are some lovely courses by the looks of it. Definitely up for sorting something out as the weather turns. Where do you usually play?

It seems nobody below 15th wants to avoid relegation. No doubt Everton will be better than (not as terrible as) 3 teams again and Wolves probably have enough to be clear with games spare.

The amount we paid for a player we didn’t need was absolutely insane. That money on a striker or a solid centre half could’ve made the difference this season. Oliver Skipp wasn’t what we needed. Even more annoying we paid Spurs half of the Maddison fee back for essentially nothing. No impact, nowhere near able to recoup what we paid (meaning we won’t shift him), no use to us. Not a dig at the player, more the fact that he was ever on our radar and the transfer was actually sanctioned. Every transfer is a gamble, but this one was never going to be a fruitful one.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

One thing I don’t see with Vestergaard is him being soft. Always seems strong to me, I could be wrong but he generally comes across solid in a ‘pure’ defending perspective. That doesn’t necessarily mean he’s effective overall, as we saw last night when he dropped in playing the opposition onside. -
Does anyone use an Apple Watch for golf? I’ve got one that I’ve never used, and just wondered if anyone uses one for yardages. I use GolfShot and Hole19 on my phone, but hate getting it out every shot (especially in the winter). So, any advice? Or am I better buying a Garmin or similar which are better designed for golf? Cheers.

I understand they might’ve needed a change, before/in Jan makes sense. Moyes for Dyche makes no sense though.
-
I agree. Just thought at his sharpest, it’s a chance not a half chance. It’s a moot point anyway I guess.
-
Yeah but when you lose that edge, everything else you do becomes rushed. When he had the extra yard, he takes that onto his right and slots it away. Another day, he scores from the same position. Even the half volley he hit over, I think he’d have adjusted better a few years ago for a better strike. It is what it is, but he’s still got something about him that not many have. Really think we’d struggle to upgrade on what he is currently, which speaks volumes about the club!
-
Can’t fault the effort and the passages of play there! Disappointing from Vardy (@Daggers 👍🏼). Would expect him to take at least one those chance. Although I wouldn’t put the poor pass and a couple of poor finishes solely down to his age. VK - mostly solid but does his best JJ impression every now and then. Faes winning the ball on the front foot is crucial to the attacks. Breaks the first line easily with a simple pass when he steps out. Nice to see the quick transitions but again, this relies on resolute defending, which seems to be something we’ve struggled with for a while. Good signs but still plenty to do!

Will do!

We look competent. Palace look like we usually look (terrible). 3-0 Palace then…
