  1. He’s like a wet paper towel.
  2. That was after the 2nd.
  3. He’s bad but we can’t put that on Ward. They’ve just used us as training cones!
  4. Faes can not play anywhere further up than CB. He might, but he can’t. The bloke can barely function as a football player. Wins a few ball, tries to do his job but he’s just not very good. Suicide football playing him as a defensive midfielder (I typed CDM, but I deleted).
  5. Swap Onana for Mads? I wouldn’t swap them now or ever. The only thing going for Onana’s CV is that he plays (poorly) for Man Utd. He’s terrible in regards the level he’s expected to be playing at. That level, again is only high because he’s at Man Utd, he could have a West Brom shirt on and nobody would bat an eye!
  6. The 10 minutes where we equalised and Bournemouth got their winner could be a huge turning point in the relegation battle. There must be a buzz in our changing room and Ipswich will be absolutely dejected.
  7. Surely putting Faes on at this stage is pure ego massaging.
  8. My sisters ex (still good friends) plays for Accrington Stanley ‘who are they?’. An away game at Anfield is unreal for a young lad I spent more on at Xmas 2020 for some boots than gifts to the rest of my family, to make sure he wasn’t left behind at his club at the time. I always used to laugh, when he would go for trials at Bradford, Leeds, Burnley… yeah I’ve been there mate, don’t get your hopes up. Anyway, I pay £5 to play and he’s got 10 years on me and is gonna be walking out at Anfield after scoring 2 to get them there. I’m not jealous, I just wish I was better
  9. Absolutely. I think even if we rebuffed offers, he would still be the same. Kasper must be his idol, even though they play together (train in the squad). I don’t think he’d dare downtools with the influence Kasper has in the national side. Kasper is a pro, he does his work… but he loves City. If we were to lose Mads, I’d take Kasper back for the dogfight. Proper
  10. No idea where to put this, but as a CB myself, Vestergaard would be a dream to play alongside. So assured on the ball, lets the defenders defend, takes it off the keeper, the CBs/FBs and the midfielders. Always finds a pass, usually forwards. Defends like a man. Body on the line (there’s no chance of injury, ever), but he dominates challenges, forceful in duels, doesn’t often lose his battles. I think him or Coady can make Okoli a good defender. I think he’s always got an issue with being dropped because he knows he’s better than what he selected, by a mile. Okoli, JV, Coady… rotated or as a 3 is the one. We’ll submit possession most weeks, but with that, if we have a solid base, Vardy, Daka, Mavididi, McAteer, Ayew breaking. We will win enough points to stay up. We’ll have games that make us want to put our head in a blender, but we will do enough.
  11. The thing is, his next move will probably be his big one. Nobody is paying us £100m for a goalkeeper, even if we have had clubs pants down with some transfers previously. It’d have to be Bellingham to Dortmund then Madrid type scenario. He’s definitely got the potential to be world class. I just can’t see him ever moving for more than what we sell him for, nor his market value touching £100m due to GK contracts ‘generally’ being lower than other positions.
  12. Yeah that one, couldn’t remember who it was on. It fell perfectly for VK to absolutely cream him!
  13. Thought the ref was good last night. VAR took an age but seemingly got things right. Poor system but the right calls are important. It’ll be much better with the auto (semi-auto?) system being used. Also, anyone got a replay of the very ‘strong’ challenge late on in the 2nd half?
  14. The jink and finish were good but he’s never going to be the player we thought we signed, unfortunately.
  15. Summerville to tear us to shreds along with Bowen… no idea what the thinking was starting Ings. Massive half for us.
  16. He’s been good. You can paint it however you like but I think many will disagree (that doesn’t mean you’re wrong). The tackles/battles he’s won so far might not look like much but they’re ones that swing the tempo or stop dangerous situations maturing. To have some doggedness in the middle makes a massive difference, but we’ve been under it and he can’t do it all on his own.
  17. I think it’s because he allows the opposition to drift past him every time. N’Didi the same. Both far too passive. I think N’Didi hesitates to committing himself as Soumare offers very little backup should the ball break from a challenge. Both look scared to engage early or commit to a loose ball. Skipp on for either.
  18. I know I was hoping there was some forethought to whatever is going on!
  19. I’m starting to see why they let Cooper have Chelsea. Would’ve done a new manager no good taking charge for that game, half the squad were on international duty during the break. RvN can hopefully galvanise the squad to get enough to stay up… it won’t take too many results and he might just get enough.
  20. I might be getting mixed up being a bit hungover… but do you mean 0.66 goals per game?
  21. I'd rather go in with a new manager bounce, pick up more than we expect rather than let Cooper sail through and us achieve nothing. I'm not anti Cooper whatsoever. He's our manager and after what we saw from BR, I know Cooper wants us to succeed. He's an honest man. On the flip side, changing now and getting someone in, with the run we have, could be on a hiding to nothing. It's a massive gamble either way. Top definitely wants the best for our club, Rudkin needs to go but he did oversee our brilliance as well. I know there's a lot of chat about what we need to change in the boardroom, but I don't for one minute think what's going on is down to lack of willing. Unfortunately for us, it's complete ineptness running through all levels and I can't see it changing any te soon.
  22. Cheers, yeah it did seem like they were okay but it wasn’t really a true test. 7 iron being an easier club to hit with decent figures also didn’t really give me full confidence in what I was seeing/doing. It was the lie angle that made me wonder whether I’d not be getting the full value of my shots (distance) but I understand it’s much more technical than that… appreciate the advice!
  23. Fellow ‘golfers’… Yesterday, I went for a fitting - and the store ‘luckily’ had some in that fitted me. However I’m sceptical whether they have just forced some clubs onto me that are just about suitable. Ping G425 irons, +1’’, 3 degree upright (white dot) with midsize grips. From Pings fitting chart, I probably needed +.5 and 2 degree upright but borderline to what I was sold also. Was hitting the 7iron 170-180 (carry) and straight… although didn’t try any of the other clubs bar the PW which I think carried around 130-135. Club speed on the 7 was around 90mph. Now after years of falling in and out of love with golf due to never been fitted, I’m not sure whether these ones just suit me better rather than being exactly what I needed. I’m 6’3 and was right on the cusp between Blue and White dot lie angle. The shop was an independent one and was just wondering if you guys could advise on whether it’s worth going to the local Ping store or AG for another fitting and be adjusted as necessary. Haven’t taken them to the range or course yet.
  24. Keep possession, like before. Do nothing with it please for Christ sake do nothing with it. You boys aren’t going to keep us up, so just try hard, try hard for your googly eyed master. I would like to like him, but we have 9 points because of the players. We’d have many more with a better manager.
  25. Went for a pint, was going to go home, get a curry and watch it. Had 87 pints instead, thank the Lord I made that choice. Anyway, that squad was League 1/2. I don’t think tonight’s game has any kind of gravity that the Ipswich game does. 3pts Saturday, everything is good. Let’s not forget, however ‘shit’ Man Utd are, we played a real second string, they’re one of the 3 biggest clubs in the world.
