Because Rudkin has allowed us to recruit a squad with no regard for personality, professionalism or work ethic who are all on high basic wage contracts with no ratio skewed towards performance who don't want to be playing at this level but care too much about their pay to leave.

Being a league below Lincoln is absolutely grim.

Sack everyone. Sack Filbet. Sack the Birch. Sack the stadium announcer. **** it, sack the horn player.
-
Fair enough we're losing but at least we're showing lots of fight and energy that makes you think we can really turn this league position around.
-
I love that every week everyone reacts to the squad lineup in disgust as if we've got a bunch of world class talent he isn't picking

I'd nominate JJ for the "I'm so sorry you've got this season on your record, you don't deserve it" award.

Let's be real here. A lot of the people that wanted KP out as early as ~2013 didn't want them out for footballing reasons. Most were fairly pathetic sorts that were having a strop because a club that had pretty iconic golden yellow kits and trim in the 90s suddenly put a slightly more metallic gold bit of flair on their kit for "cultural" reasons. Or people complaining because the stadium that was always named for a sponsor got renamed for... another sponsor. There was more than a slight uncomfortable taste of xenophobia in a lot of the early complaints about KP. I'm not levelling that accusation at everyone. Some were just the usual Against-Modern-Football types that weren't comfortable with the idea of us having undeniably corporate overloads and I can accept that. @Daggers has railed against millionaire ownership of the club since Mandaric, man's consistent and doesn't have a racist bone in his body. Probably the same for @Sol thewall Bamba But almost nobody was accusing our ownership of incompetence on this kinda scale back then. For a start, we had a different owner. I said this in another thread "King Power" isn't a person, it can't run a club. Vichai was definitely inexperienced running a football club and made mistakes but he generally learned from them and improved. But he's dead. Top is a different person and hasn't got a clue. Yeah we blundered recruitment in 2016-17 but I don't think it's a huge shock that we suddenly had no idea how to react to winning the league. The real unforgivable management of the club came predominantly once we surrendered almost full control to Brendan Rodgers and let him create this mess while Rudkin and Top watched on with no clue how to do anything else. TLDR: some people were KP out before they even bought the club. That's an extremely different thing to actually thinking they're not capable of running the club as a footballing organisation.

Looking forward to @Ric Flair going full Thracian when Louis Page, Will Alves and Sammy Braybrooke still don't get a kick ahead of Oliver Skipp, Bobby Reid and Mavididi.

The weird part is that I wouldn't be "staggered" if we beat anyone, really. It's a shit league and I don't think our strongest side is as abysmal as it's form. Don't get me wrong, I can't see us winning, I can barely see us winning again at all this season. I think there's an intangible funk all over the squad and I don't see it changing without a total refresh. I've started convincing myself that League One will be good for us, get a good clearout and force us to re-think our approach to recruitment. It probably won't and I imagine the financial crippling will ruin us for a few more seasons but yknow. But, yeah, as shit as we are I don't think it would surprise me we actually won a game. I keep getting flashbacks to how devastating we were in the first half against Southampton when it briefly looked like we were ok. I mean that's what we're capable of. It just never happens.

Blackburn are irrelevant. We're now in a straight points race with Oxford and West Brom. We need to get 3 more points than Oxford and 5 more points than West Brom with 12 to play for. West Brom are unbeaten in their last 6 and Oxford have only lost once in that time, winning two. Oh and both have got Wednesday left. We probably, realistically, need to win all four games to stay up. Essentially, Ipswich just relegated us.

West Brom - Potential PSR breach

You'd be very, very naive to think football in general is clean, let alone football in Italy. Believing it's all magically been perfect since Calciopoli is daft. -
I was diagnosed before Christmas with combined type ADHD, I'm currently awaiting an appointment for titration and expect to be put on lisdexamfetamine. I was extremely anxious and on edge before the assessment, so I get it. What I would say, though, is that it's not an exam you have to pass. It's not an interview with someone that's going to try and trip you up and catch you out and do their best to tell you you don't have ADHD. You probably knew already that you do before you even got to this point. What's going to happen is that a qualified psychiatric nurse (mine was legit called Kelechi) is going to go through a check-list questionaire that will cover most of the same questions you've probably already answered in your pre-assessment forms. They'll partly refer to the answers you've given and they'll partly ask you fresh questions but you're essentially just confirming that you do experience the behaviours that you know already are part of the diagnostic criteria. I'm guessing you've done a bit of resarch and you'll have read up about symptoms of ADHD. Just go in armed with a few examples (not necessarily specific times and dates, don't put that much pressure on yourself, it's not a job interview) for when different ADHD behaviours have had an effect on you. I'm going to go ahead and guess that you've had experience with talking therapies at some point in your life? This isn't really like that. It's not therapy at all, you might have a particularly nurturing or warm nurse but generally speaking it's quite a robotic, by-numbers, box-ticking exercise that feels quite mechanical. It's literally like going through symptoms with a GP more than anything else. You'll be fine. I wouldn't quite go so far as to say it's self-diagnosis, it isn't, but they do put an enormous amount of trust in your own evidence and your own experience. They aren't there to challenge you. At the end of the day if you believe strongly that you have ADHD that's generally going to see you get the help you want/need.

I work with a guy that goes home and away to every game Boston United play, absolutely loves it. Even their pre season friendlies. So I guess with a certain amount of emotional attachment the answer is no. To watch it as a neutral? Yeah, personally to me it does but I'd say Serie A is pretty damn entertaining to be honest. I think the idea that it's a dour league full of defensive 1-0s is a thing of the past. I like it. -

At this rate that looks very possible yeh. Which is just insane. -
He gets a pass because Fellaini deserved it.

Preseason I was one of them. Even at the time we got the points deduction I thought we'd finish like 10th or something at worst. People can be smug all they want about predicting we'd get relegated this year but I'm sorry the collapse in the second half of the season has been extremely out of the ordinary and frankly disgusting for the level of players we have. As much as we've grown to loathe them and expect nothing from them, the 11 we put out on paper every week shouldn't be 23rd in this league.- 164 replies

Only football I've enjoyed watching for a couple of years now is Serie A. Really competitive league again, not at it's big money height since the 90s but I think that helps. Surprising teams run up the league and the title race is usually pretty competitive. Fun to watch as a neutral and remember that the actual sport itself can be entertaining in its own right. -
I have no problem with a straight red for hair pulling. Don't give me any of that "games gone soft" shit, let me flip that around for you - how much of a raging wuss do you have to be to need to pull someone's hair to get an edge? Absolutely ****ing pathetic. We all love a monster tackle and a bit of physicality I get that. But who is out there getting excited by watching grown adults pull each other's hair? ****ing hell.

I'm sure they'll stay up though. Even if they get a deduction it'll be 3pts max and they'll probably stay above us and one of the other two. -

We said that -
Thing that makes me laugh is that our biggest problem by far is the defence. And who are the players with the contracts that are still going to be here next year that we can't get rid of? Okoli, Vestergaard, Kristiansen, Thomas, maybe even Faes Everyone pinning their hopes on Harry ****ing Souttar who hasn't kicked a ball since Maggie Thatcher was PM and Ben Nelson, whose catalogue of errors isn't far off Faes' and who we probably need to sell to avoid him leaving for free.
-
But I just don't think Monga has looked particularly any good either? Few glimpses early on and a terrific assist for Ricardo back when we looked like there was still hope. But he just looks like a lost little boy most of the time he plays to be honest. There's so little support around him that he's always doubled up on. Mav has been very, very poor but at least he's got strength and pace that Monga is yet to develop.

The 2027s are the biggest problem really. If you're implying Winks has an option, I don't see why either the club or the player would want to trigger that unless it's already happened because it's automatic based on appearances? His wages will be so damaging to us that extending him to try and sell him doesn't seem profitable and his attitude was wayward enough in the Championship that forcing him to play in League One seems daft. And despite how we see him here, he's easily good enough to go and get a good contract somewhere on free agency so much that he doesn't need to extend here. But the rest, BDCR, Choudhury, Vestergaard - that's a massive, massive lump of wages right there that I don't see us being able to get rid of. We desperately want to wipe them out and get a clean slate and some flex in the wage bill to properly rebuild but I don't really see how we possibly get rid of those. I don't see who even loans Vestergaard or BDCR without us paying a huge chunk of their wages. They'll be the highest paid players in League One and they shouldn't even make the 11. Hamza, maybe, is a decent League One DM if we're that desperate? Stol, Aluko, Souttar, Nelson, Thomas Hamza, Skipp, X, X, Mavididi, X Ugh. On paper that shouldn't be too horrible but it's just way too many toxic reminders of the last few years. God I wish we could just gut the whole lot.
