  1. The comparison is he’s their best player (probably) and Ward was our 4th choice keeper
  2. For context Brentford have been paying Mbeumo less than we were paying Danny Ward. Our top earners should be on around £50k max.
  3. Carrick does tick a lot of boxes - attractive football - promotes youth - free - played in the premier league golden era Whenever I’ve watched boro thought they were easy on the eye. Looked to me as though the squad was not deep enough to compete
  4. I keep going round in circles but have landed on Dyche again. We need stability and he doesn’t appear to be someone who uses clubs as stepping stones. The Championship is poor. We could afford to lose 6/7 of the current squad, replace with cheaper alternatives/ academy players and we’d be competitive - even with a points deduction. If we were to get promoted, he would be our best shout of grinding out enough points to stay up. No promoted team can go up and expect to stay there being expansive, it would be a battle and would need a sensible approach. Some have commented about his reluctance to play youth - I think that’s just been because he’s been limited with options. He looks to me that would pick the best players available regardless of age. We need an identity- I think he would give us that and would work at reconnecting the board, staff, players and supporters.
  5. Sheff Weds and their owner charged over not paying staff. Hoping this gives Rohl an out.
  6. Nothing will happen about it though as the authorities are too busy trying to figure out how much to punish us for contracts we handed out before PSR existed.
  7. Seems a bit dodgy to me. Botafogo are in part of the same group as Lyon who Forest have sold £50m worth of players to last summer. Looks a bit like some of these owners are being clever at moving money around.
  8. Spurs are just a basket case of a club, whoever goes there will struggle. Rohl would be up Brentford’s street but I think Fulham would go for a more tried and tested
  9. Positives for me are: - Vardy signing off with goal 200 🐐 - Introduction of Monga, Evans and Aluko to 1st team squad - Getting some money off the wage bill - Andy King joining 1st team set up - Forest bottling Champions League and Coventry bottling promotion (small wins) Negatives: - Both transfer windows - both managerial appointments - Fatawu injury - lack of accountability and communication from the board All of the negatives result in poor on-pitch performance which is a bit of a given. Rohl on 2025/26 👀
  10. It’s the combination of not selling YT for big money after the cup final win and reinvesting well as we had done previously and then having an absolute howler in the market the season after. If we would have sold Youri for £50-60m, which was realistic at the time we could have had broken even that window and still been stronger for it. Instead we let him go down to 1yr of contract left and signed Soumare, Daka and Vestergaard for a hefty loss. That ruined the following season meaning we couldn’t replace Schmeichel and had to shop in the bargain aisle in January. Regardless of who comes in as manager we need to bring someone new in to oversee transfers as in the last 3/4 years there have been a lot more misses than hits.
  11. 100%. The rules are designed to look like they are doing clubs a favour when in reality they are there to help the leagues manipulate the standings.
  12. I think we would be a brilliant move for him. It’s a step up but not a huge risk. If he does well he could have a long tenure with us, if he doesn’t I don’t think his stock will take too much of a hit
  13. Better for everyone if we move him on. Ben Nelson is the future - he needs to be first choice next season. Don’t want him spending the whole year bailing JV out of trouble. A year with Coady would be good for his development
  14. Delap off to Chelsea for £30m with 30% sell on to Man City. Poor deal from an Ipswich point of view, I can only imagine they didn’t foresee quite how good he would be
  15. The longer this drags on the longer it looks like what we’re planning revolves around us officially being an EFL club again. Surely if who were going for is a free agent this would have been done by now
  16. If compensation is paid for a manager does it work in the same way as buying a player regarding PSR? if he cost us £3m and we gave him a 3yr contract is that £1m per year?
  17. Could this be this years Potter > Cooper. Rohl being the dream with Martin backup?
  18. If we do appoint Danny do you think admin will announce it with a pic of him and Top embracing under the header of… Wok n Rohl. I’ll get my coat.
  19. If Daka tried that he’d hit the corner flag. Hell of a strike
  20. Winks bossed the championship last time round. If he stays, and RM come in, I’d expect the same again.
  21. Need to renew Stolarcyzk and Alves as a priority. If we get a good offer for JJ this summer I would take it, if not I’d offer an extension as long as his demands are reasonable. I’d keep Coady and Riccy around this season. CC I would then let expire, Riccy decision would be down to how much he’s been available this coming season. try and get rid of Soumare, Daka and Ayew now and if not at least we know they’re off the wage bill in a years time. Shouldn’t Luke Thomas be on the list?
  22. He’ll end up back at Celtic 25 goals in treble winning season
  23. I hold hope that a European club will come in for him due to his international form. Even if we had to subsidise part of his wages it will save us a lot of cash.
  24. Sell him or agree to a termination
