It’s risk and reward isn’t it. I think the wickets we lost yesterday, especially Pope is a prime example of how it can go horribly wrong.
That’s when sometimes you might want to think “we’ve just lost our opener later on in day 2 let’s just be a bit more sensible here and try see the session through” but the opposition know that any loose ball pitched up is half a chance at taking a wicket.
Today’s wickets Root was fairly unlucky in that fact he’s made an average ball going down the leg side turn into a good ball with the thinnest of nicks off the bottom edge. The ball that got Stokes you simply have to hold your hands up and say fair play.
Then after you see what these lads are putting on and it’s great to watch from an England point view. From the brink of defeat to at least being back in the game.
