Feel a bit sad he is leaving but we need the money and to reduce our outgoings. All the best, Wilf, and thanks for being a top player for us, especially in the period 2017-2021.

Not sure pace in behind is going to be that important in Marti's system and in any case most teams will be parking the bus against us.

Can't bear Everton - they've been so lucky staying in the PL for season after season despite being rubbish. Shame he's gone there but hope he does well personally.
-
Do we know why he's not starting? Was his injury that bad that they need to restrict his minutes this much?
-
Really hope Okoli gets a decent run of games now. He's a bit rough around the edges on the ball but his pace and physicality is just what we need. Plus he seems to be a good lad who is up for the fight. I know that should be a given, but with some of this squad it really isn't.

They will also have the new ball very soon in the morning. This will be close, I think. -

To manufacture the chance of a result, Kent needed to declare overnight. Can only think we would rather bank the points for a draw than risk losing by agreeing to set them a target. -

I agree. It's the biggest playing area in the country, I think. -

There was a chance to set up a run chase for Kent but it looks like we've decided against seeking to do that. Can't see why Kent wouldn't have been open to that with a declaration this morning. -

The proposed ground redevelopment looked really good but the question is, would high quality new facilities help County to boost attendances, or be an expensive white elephant? The answer to that lies in determining the underlying cause for the disappointing crowds at Grace Road, expecially for CC games. Is that down to the dated facilities, or other reasons like a lack of interest in cricket in the area, ticket/membership prices, etc. If it is the latter, a few fancy new stands won't help make us more sustainable. -

This looks like a nailed on draw, given how slowly they're batting and the dodgy weather. Glamorgan are on for another win by the looks of it. -

Agree that BEK is an 8, not a 10. -

Stupid shots continue. Van Beek should have focused on staying with Holland. -

The batting in recent games has been very hit and miss. We've largely been dependent on 2 or 3 players scoring the runs, with lots of low scores otherwise. -

Really thought he might today. Throwing a great position away here. -
True but another example of how far we've fallen so quickly.
-
He’ll probably leave but if he doesn’t, I would think about playing BEK as an 8, to give us more creativity and pressing ability deeper in the pitch. The problem is that we would then need to find someone else to play as a 10…..
-
Winks, Skipp, Vesty and Coady as the central defensive base of the team just doesn't work. No pace or physicality at all. We'll get slaughtered on the break if we push the full backs forward and leave those 4 to cover, as we're seeing today.

Surely these 2 can't bat for another 30+ overs but they are looking very comfortable at the moment.
