He wasn’t poor, but like the rest of the starting XI, there was a bit too much respect given. Not enough 50/50’s won. He was steady but didn’t offer any outlet going forward, Second half he took no prisoners, bombed on and genuinely looked like the player he can grow into being

I accept that some people don’t over analyse everything the club does, like I (unfortunately for my mental state) do, and I’m sure most of the posters on here also do. They’ll be plenty of folk who are happy supporting whatever Leicester do come rain or shine. I envy them in a way, they probably didn’t watch the Lens game

Everything is fine though, we’re a well run club on and off the pitch. I’ll be down on Monday waving my King Power flags, banging my clapper and making sure I leave on 80 minutes to avoid the traffic Blue Army

As have I. Makes much more sense when outlined like thaT

Can’t imagine Yunis being on anywhere near the same money as Zaha, so we’d have potentially made up the difference Seems like we tried to find a loophole to keep the player and Gala happy but can’t get it past HMRC. Seems a bit naive to think we’d be able to circumvent tax laws but then again we are talking about LCFC here
-
Isnt that a 2 loan maximum from other English clubs though? Prem and/or EFL? I thought you can have 4 max, but not 2 from the same club. So if we say get Zaha and Hlozek over the line, both from foreign clubs, we could still add another loan from either the prem, or abroad to go with Buonanotte

I’m trying to separate the playing and the non playing side of the club. I do think a fully fit XI will compete in most games this season, but ultimately the squad as it stands won’t have enough. We’ll be on the end of quite a few galling narrow defeats in the games that really count, where the opposition is clinical and we aren’t. If it weren’t for a points deduction I think we’d probably have enough to scrape the high 30’s / low 40’s and just about get over the line, but with a deduction, I just don’t see us being able to claw our way to safety

Don’t really believe the rumour, but it’s a no thanks from me. Average, didn’t set the world alight at Spurs, good goal scoring record at Ajax, but it’s a transfer that doesn’t feel right to me. 27 in a couple of months. He’ll be looking for a decent contract. Exactly the kind of player we’d struggle to shift if it doesn’t work out, and there’s a high possibility it wouldn’t work out

Loan with an obligation to push
-
9 in 20? he got 4 in 15

Enzo didn’t use fullbacks in a traditional sense, VK is a traditional fullback. He wanted to be part of the Denmark squad at the euros who use traditional fullbacks. We got a loan fee for him and he had a good season in Bologna, we welcome back a better player and one who now better suits the system I think you’re reading into things far too much

Awful news. R.I.P Shakey 😔🦊💙

Enzo lives rent free in so many peoples head. Let’s move on. It seems every thread descends into critique of whether or not we got promoted because of him, or in spite of him. If we’d have got destroyed in the prem playing an inverted fullback, or if we’d have cut team open as we were afforded less respect If he was still in charge I get it, but he’s not, he’s gone. Genuinely sick of reading the same discussion done “ad nauseam” Millwall and Plymouth away were painful to watch, but it’s even more painful to keep reading about it months later

True, I’m 99% certain we’ll address the areas of concern over the coming weeks, whether this is with the right players is another point all together. But it hit home a bit tonight that with the squad we have as of right now it’s gonna be a long hard season
-
I’m really not one to overreact. I like to think I’m quite level headed when it comes to football. Following the Pearson mantra of not getting too high or too low. Yes friendlies are just a fitness exercise, the performance doesn’t overly concern me. We aren’t as well drilled but it’s early days. On the flip side our fitness levels looked high which can be massive, especially at the start of a season What concerns me is the make up of the squad. It’s 3 weeks till the start of the season and we are so devoid of creativity, and attacking output in the middle of the pitch. We got promoted at the back end of April and over 90 days later our squad is considerably weaker. I get there’s been mitigating factors what with PSR, Maresca leaving, KDH leaving etc, but targets should have been identified and moved for as soon as June ticked over to July and the new accounting period started. To give us the best possible chance to stay up Yes the window is open for another 5 weeks, but by then the season is well underway. We need to hit the ground running, we have a points deduction hanging over us and every game counts. I just feel we’re massively on the back foot and the squad balance is not right. It’s not actually giving Cooper a chance to implement anything

He’s a talented lad and needs to move for the sake of his career. Probably been held onto a year or two too long by Arsenal, but I like what little I have seen. For footballing reasons I think it’s a bit of a no-brainer and he’s an upgrade to the likes of Marcel and McAteer All depends on the package though. A loan would be perfect, try before you buy, and if it’s an obligation based on appearance, survival clauses I’m all for it.
-
The perfect loan in my eyes. As good as he is, I really think a season playing at a decent sized club in the championship would bring him on even more We’re stocked with centrebacks, and there's no point keeping him around for caribao cup minutes
-
This is where I am, can’t say I was pleased to see Fatawu playing LWB, or the idea of the workload being afforded to Ricardo. But it’s the first proper pre-season game, players are still coming back and it’s just about minutes Come Lens on the 10th of August and if we’re seeing something similar in terms of square pegs then ill start to be a bit more concerned

Concerns about the direction of the club
Big_Nige replied to Lambert09's topic in Leicester City Forum
There’s been a few negligent relegations through the years. West Ham 02-03, Leeds 03-04 Newcastle 08-09, and Leicester all spring to mind. There’s no way we should have gone down with some of the talent we had in the squad. Although I will say the defence was pony. With a defence that has Dan Amartey as its first choice centre back for the majority of the season you run the risk of flirting with relegation It always feels worse, and far more embarrassing when it’s your own club that something like that happens to. I was, and still am to an extent, fuming at the mismanagement across all levels that caused it to happen. But it won’t be talked about in years to come like the Derby relegation still is, regardless of how shit their squad was that truly was embarrassing -
Too right, unless you’re born on the monsell and got a tattoo of Andy Impey on your thigh you can feck, right, off
-
You spelt Will Alves wrong? In all seriousness if there’s one player who I think will make it to the top it’s the young Spurs winger who played a bit for them towards the end of last season. Mikey Moore. Only 16 and he looks different gravy Those strikers are absolutely honking. Might as well put George Hirst in

Bloody hell. More flair than a 70’s disco. Get him signed!
