  1. Why get another player towards the end of his career on big wages. If true doesn’t sound like anyone has reflected on last season’s business
  2. Very comprehensive article in the i newspaper today “change is expensive” although no hints at next steps
  3. Last season it was a joke. Very few games one rained off. By the time Leicester played Lens it was clear preparations were way off schedule. Can we not stick to local places like Notts County, Lincoln, Mansfield, Burton etc. Perhaps one trip away for those who can afford a long weekend like Bilbao, Seville etc if these teams will be prepared to play us now we are in the Championship
  4. He might do OK I remember he looked very sharp a couple of years ago scored at Liverpool I think but was injured after that, Wouldn’t rule out another offer from Sunderland
  5. Well if he does come let’s support him. Rohl has plenty of other options. It just hasn’t worked at all with the last 2 managers. As I remember it took Martin a few games to get Southampton playing but they then went on a very long unbeaten run. I’m not worried at this point about how he would do in the Premiership as I don’t know where the goals are going to come from next season.
  6. He seems fitter and stronger this year has a decent long throw as well. I am pleased for him
  7. No shots on target. One striker and he is substituted presume didn’t look like scoring. New manager will have his work cut out even in Championship
  8. Wilf unwell and Bilal family issue (Tanner). Still lack of ambition I thought the narrative had changed not a youngster to be seen in starting 11
  9. Another negative line up still not prepared to risk giving youngsters a full game. Be very surprised if Leicester get anything out of today. Worrying that Bilal not in the squad
  10. We don’t know exactly what has been said if anything to Ruud but it is not great if nobody has been open with him or given him some sort of heads up , But IMO Ruud is trying to make a case for being judged since he changed the narrative and relegation was confirmed. No club can be expected to ignore the results when the club was really under pressure and assume that the recent positivity will continue into next season which will be very tough.
  11. I think it could work with Martin at Championship level but the question is whether that is his ceiling. A lot depends on recruitment - Leicester are still being linked with older players and all possession but no pace won't work and can be so predictable. We got found out towards the end of the last Championship season. You need a bit of quality too if Bilal leaves it is going to be lacking. Winks might be back but who is going to break the lines and convert the chances. If Martin develops the youth and we can get a few young hungry players in I would be more hopeful.. He comes over as someone who would be more inclusive and popular with players but I might be wrong. I still think there are going to be some twists in all this. I don't think Martin or Dyche are ideal maybe someone else is a possibility but certainly I think Leicester need to make some sort of a change ideally looking at the whole structure and I don't think Ruud has done enough to justify staying on.
  12. The Premier league just won't let go having put Leicester on the back foot last summer and now this. I do have some sympathy for the club given how bigger clubs seem Teflon coated. Having said that the club has spent money as if they are still in the Champions league on far too many mediocre players that other clubs were trying to move on.. Last summer was awful in terms of adding to the first 11 and it reminded me of 2021 which was perhaps the start when nobody was sold players were brought in on huge wages. Even as recently as January Coulibaly came in on a 4.5 year contract and has barely started. On top of that I'm not sure how the managers were recruited, Ruud seemed to be taken on almost entirely the basis on his playing career. So little homework on any appointments on and off the field.
  13. I'm not keen on the idea of keeping RVN for a run next season. I worry that a few heads will be turned by beating the bottom 2 clubs at home. Today Ipswich were on top before Vardy scored so who will save the manager next season? All this "changing the narrative" building for the future didn't fit with the starting line up either. It is one thing performing when the pressure is off but it is easy to forget key games against other struggling sides such as Wolves Everton etc that really cost the team this season
  14. Ruud was saying that he was supporting Facundo to shape his own future. I’m increasingly frustrated hearing this type of spin because the youngsters have had very little opportunity during his tenure. I haven’t heard an outstanding replacement mentioned but I don’t have confidence in Ruuds ability to navigate a promotion push.
  15. I haven’t seen any evidence in the last 5 months that Ruud really trusts the younger players with the exception of Bilal. In fact it has been quite the opposite IMO and some players such as Facundo have lost confidence after criticism. Nice to hear a new philosophy but how much substance is there when the young players like Golding come on well into injury time.
  16. One win against a poor Southampton team and Ruud seems that he could possibly be back in for another season. Looking at it from the clubs perspective, if he is sacked then someone maybe several people might have to take responsibility for another disappointing appointment. However if RVN is given the benefit of the doubt some people are suggesting the club might just do OK anyway. So no need for a reset at any level?. If this happens it is the sort of complacency that seemed to creep in when Leicester were last relegated with a much stronger squad thought too good to go down.
  17. I think this is another false dawn against one of the worst clubs in premier history. If we beat Forest away, I might sit up but to be honest you can’t ignore RVNs record over the last 5 months. We need a change IMO
  18. Whatever is talked up at press conferences clearly doesn’t trust the youth. I think RVN thinking about keeping risk to a minimum not the future of the club. We need a bit of pace where is that coming from?
  19. Agree saving face for his part in the decision and not maybe falling out with a footballing legend probably matters a lot. Top had to trust others with signings such as Cooper and the recruitment team so I wouldn't put the new players as his responsibility Ultimately I'm speculating but suspect Top is really hoping that the next few games will give him justification to keep Ruud on for the first 10 games next season. Personally I don't think the results are suddenly going to turn around performances at home have been particularly poor and Southampton will probably fancy their chances as we needed a bit of luck to beat them last time with the sending off etc
  20. I’m a bit conflicted about the Southampton game. Yes I’d like to see a goal for once maybe even a win. But I can’t help feeling that any glimmer of hope is just going to postpone any reset or managerial change.
  21. This is a game Leicester will be expected to win. With injuries there is very little pace in the side and we have seen how half heartedly City track back if caught on the break. Fairly confident Southampton will have the edge and that should surely force a decision on RVN.
  22. I got the impression last summer that Leicester completely lost focus. The club needed another striker and box to box midfielder with KDH and Kelechi leaving but all that got lost buying average players at inflated prices that were no better than existing players. I remember Cooper saying they had to trust each other on recruitment. I had a vision of people working through spreadsheets knowing little or nothing about how these players would fit in. So we had duplication with Reid/Ayew, Skipp similar to Winks, another albeit younger centre back when Leicester had loads on their books. Bilal has been good but still developing and had no pre season. Finally hired a striker with minutes left in the window that has barely played and similarly in January with Coulibaly. Shambolic.
  23. So in the last 9 months Leicester have handed out two 3 year contracts for managers. RVN came with virtually no prem management experience and Cooper very limited Surely there must be some clauses in them?? But then in January signed a full back on a 4.5 year contract and what happened there. Not to mention Golding from Chelsea last summer for £5m not featured at all.
  24. I have just watched this back. Too many players looked like they were on a pre season friendly . Wilf and Soumare in critical positions jogging back almost got the impression main aim was to remain injury free. Faes gets criticised but Coady struggling too. Doubt any of these players see their future with Leicester so why not change it Ruud?
  25. Personally I’d go for Dyche it won’t be pretty but he’s done it all before at Burnley etc. I think he is fairly local. Looking at the betting odds I cannot get too excited with any of the names. I also think it would be a massive risk to go for Carsley
