  1. I'm not sure Fatawu needs a compatriot to help him feel at home, it looks like he has a lot of mates in the squad. But it couldn't hurt I guess, as long as they get on and Baidoo is good enough of course. If he's replacing Wilf they'll need to strike up a good relationship in those RW/RCM/inside forward positions.
  2. Fair enough, I can't argue with that. Football is supposed to be escapism, etc. And I'd be a huge hypocrite to criticise you after just saying that we each choose our battles. I stand by the whataboutery as that is literally what happened, but I apologise if I caused offence. Have a good day
  3. I haven't ridiculed anybody. As I've said above, fight the battles you want to fight and have the energy for. You don't have to personally become involved in taking a stand against it, we each only have a certain amount of capacity. But ridiculing others for taking a stand isn't the way either. And the arguments that other morally bankrupt things happen in the world or perhaps we should wait for a multi-million pound sponsorship deal from Amnesty International are quite weak in my opinion. I love this club and would rather it isn't corrupted by sheer greed or the insatiable desire to compete at the top level at the expense of human rights abuses, military coups, undermining democracy, etc.

  5. Makes me laugh that to take a moral stand against something is being ridiculed because 'other stuff in the world is morally bankrupt too'. Whataboutery at its finest. You fight the battles you want and have the energy to fight and hope that others have the energy to fight the other battles for you. It's like donating to Cancer Research and someone else calling you a pr!ck for not donating to UNICEF.
  6. Flicked over to Sky's Saturday Social to see Nieve Petruzziello (apparently better known as a YouTuber called Stunt Pegg) recommend Arouna Sangante, a CB from Le Havre as being a good option for us next season. I know absolutely nothing about the player or the person recommending him, but just thought I'd share for those more enlightened than I am.
  7. I'm a big believer that if you front up, take responsibility, take your punishment, show genuine remorse and humility and the fact you can turn your life around, then that can be a success of the justice system and people can deserve a second chance. In Greenwood's case, he wasn't found not guilty, it just didn't proceed towards prosecution. There could be a number of reasons for that. Those recordings don't intimate that he is innocent (in terms of whether or not he actually abused his partner, not in the eyes of the law). He seems to be getting on with his life. He's with the woman in question, they have a kid together and he seems to be knuckling down and getting on with his life. They're all part of his potential to become a better person and put things behind him. But he hasn't fronted up and taken responsibility for what seems quite obviously, based on the recording, some extremely awful behaviour. From a legal point of view, there's nothing to suggest that Leicester City or any other club couldn't sign him. But, because of the above, I would be very unhappy if he rocked up here (which he won't).
  8. Points deduction or not, we're finishing above them next season
  9. In my opinion, football is about cycles. It's part of the game. It's just a shame that those teams at the very top never taste relegation anymore. Obviously I never want Leicester to be relegated ever, and I'd love it if we won something or finished in a European spot every season. But our profile as a club is raised massively. We've been a top two tier club for the majority of our existence. At the moment, thanks to the last 10 years, we're back where we belong in the top division in the eyes of many neutrals in this country and around the world. At one point we were being spoken about as being the club that extended the Big Six into the Big Seven (somewhat prematurely, though). Winning stuff along the way has been the most important thing. But raising the profile of the club could bring us a lot of benefits in the future, despite how bleak the current financial situation is.
  10. The key is are we going to be able to improve on the squad. If he gets assurances that are reneged upon I could envision a late departure in the manner of Lopetegui at Wolves. If we can't back him that much, we'll have to be up front so he can make his mind up so either get a new manager in as early as possible or at least know if Maresca wants to make a go of it. In an ideal world, he stays and we back him. He's earned the right and I'm sure we'd all like to see if Enzoball can cut it at the Premier League with the types of players he wants playing the system. It won't be an overhaul but I think if the finances work out we can bring in a few to supplement some of the ballers we have. If he can keep us up, playing some decent stuff, he'll be in much demand next summer.
  11. Design looks very similar to this season's home kit (collar, stripe length and subtle pattern). That said, if it's a Photoshop job rather than the real thing, it's one of the best I've seen! I wouldn't mind that at all.
  12. They can forget any notion of nabbing Vardy but if Wrexham want one of our out-of-contract players, Albrighton would run riot in that division, whipping those crosses in. I wouldn't rule out a third successive promotion if they were to sign him up. A Leicester legend in every sense. Overcame a difficult start to cement his spot and achieve the Greatest Escape. Won the PL, FA Cup and Community Shield, scored our first ever Champions League goal and got another in our win over Sevilla. And now part of the squad that bounced back at the first attempt, helping us to win the Championship title for a record eighth time. While League One is below his level, he deserves to play for an upwardly mobile club intent on achieving more success. If that isn't going to come at Championship level, I think he'd have a lovely time in North Wales.
  13. He came on against Swansea (H) on 30th Jan. Apparently that's his only Championship appearance according to Wikipedia and Transfermarkt.
  14. Actually looks decent in that render. I thought the two-tone blue looked a bit like a training shirt in the previous leak. But if it looks anything like that, I'll be quite happy. I'm not exactly on board with advertising a fossil fuel company but aesthetically the sponsor looks a lot better than FBS.
  15. I think there's a very real possibility something could happen behind the scenes this time. Pockets of fans have been outwardly protesting against Rudkin for a while. And, surely, the owners would take note of the criticism of how we've managed to find ourselves in this financial predicament (despite the fact that, if he were allowed, Top could pump money in to solve it). Having the manager who has just won promotion back at the first attempt - a manager who has been hired for the long term, to refresh the squad and play a brand of football that's innovative and so different to the last 18 months of Rodgers' reign and the Dean Smith panic hire - openly criticise the running of the club should be ringing alarm bells. If Maresca goes and we remain in a hole of our own making, meekly surrendering to an inevitable relegation with no means of turning things around, awaiting a patient EFL and whatever further sanctions they can throw at us, then the backlash from the fans will be vociferous. The owners are loyal - a fabulous quality - but we do need change in some areas. Maresca may not be here in a year or two anyway, but the points he's making are valid. And they should be heeded for the long-term benefit of the club.
  16. So Kristiansen has had a good year in a team that looks likely to qualify for Champions League football. Yet they want a discount on the price agreed when he was a player just relegated to the Championship (admittedly one of the more promising ones). This is a price agreed upon knowing the length remaining on his contract at the end of the loan. What about his season in Italy has led them to the conclusion that he is worth less now than he would have been had he not been part of a successful Serie A side? It's easier said than done, but surely some other sides will be interested in him, including Premier League ones who want to play with a more conventional left-back. I don't necessarily want to sell to a PL rival but we can't keep letting these sides pull our pants down on deals. Bologna have seen Torino messing us about and think they can do the same. No more. I like Kristiansen and his attitude while he was playing for us, but either Bologna pay the agreed price (or very close to it) or we sell to somebody else. Or Viktor's in the U21s or training on his own. We'll see if he's willing to learn Enzo's system then.
  17. Home kit looks like a training shirt with two shades of blue on it. Third is absolutely honking. Away looks like it could be decent. Hope the accents are navy rather than black. Maybe they'll look better in further leaks.
  18. Would be interesting if Leeds do manage to go up still. Next season's games would be a bit fookin spiceh

    Eddie Nketia

I think Nelson needs a proper home where he can be trusted to make mistakes and thrive. Nketiah is a good finisher and could be a long-term competition with Cannon. I'd take both for sure. Smith-Rowe I'm torn on. Looked really decent a couple of seasons ago but would he fit Enzo's system? Does he have the required engine as an 8 or can he be moved further back as a Winks alternative?
  20. Excellent point, it's no wonder he dropped off a bit. We do need someone who can play understudy/rotation with him, whether that's Braybrooke, Sensi or somebody else. A fit and firing Winks has been unplayable at times. If we can keep him in as good a condition as possible, hopefully he'll have another fantastic year next season.
  21. White, blue pinstripes, running fox. Can't go wrong.
  22. I literally can't stop watching the squad singing When You're Smiling and the Fatawu chant in the dressing room. This squad, man We simply have to get the Fatawu deal done.
  23. An absolute belter of a game last night. His ability on the ball is excellent. I do wonder if we'd be better off with Faes on the left and Justin on the right. Defensively there are still questions about Faes, especially at PL level, but he's had a good season and deserves his chance to prove himself now he's had two seasons in English football.
  24. Not to mention, if you have to sell, the buying clubs will likely play hardball and not pay anything near the real value of the players. Maybe competition between prospective buyers could bump prices up a bit, but if we're forced to sell, they'll try to buy for as low as possible. Then, selling at low prices may also not avoid breaching financial rules. So the more prudent and financially responsible option is to avoid being forced to sell and instead sell when your assets are approaching their highest value, especially if your owners have a consistent track record of funding the club and wiping out debt.
  25. Win on Monday and that's the title then. Time to finish the job, then hopefully Ipswich pip Leeds to second. Would be ideal if both Leeds and Southampton failed to make it up.
