Southampton 5-0 post match mutual touching frisky party
foxinsox replied to Daggers's topic in Leicester City Forum
I don't think so, today there was a lot more long forward balls over the top. Enough to unsettle and spread out the opposition. A plan B of sorts. -
There would have been meltdown here if Daka replaced him!

Championship team of possible transfers. Who has impressed you?
foxinsox replied to Kinowe Soorie's topic in Transfer Talk
I was impressed by WBA number 23 today, Michael Johnson. -
I am looking forward to seeing Braybrooke, but he has been out for a year with a nasty injury. I wouldn't pile too much pressure on him, and he might well benefit from a loan to a side where he gets regular match time.

For entertainment value that was best match of the season. Hamza magnificent with occasional seasoning of bombscare. Abdul seemed to be playing deep most of the match to cover Right Back and allow Hamza to do his thing. 3 points the hard way, but 3 points nonetheless.
-
Let's get 3 points and make them sweat. Not easy for Leeds away at Boro. I am impressed by Ipswich, but would hate for Leeds to go up at our expense.
-
Leeds fixtures look tough too. Have we been given a Get Out of Jail Free card?
-
The gods are just toying with us, and Leeds too...
-
I really don't like this inverted full back system. It's not an awful system, and has put us top, at least until Leeds kick off, but is so one dimensional and rigid. Possession without penetration and too slow in the build up, so that the opponent gets time to organise their lines. We are also absolute dog poo at attacking set pieces and corners. When was the last time we scored one? Was it one that Maddison did? It certainly feels like it. There will be a mass exodus in the summer with another year in the Championship. It will be sad to see players like Vardy, Albrighton and Ndidi go this way. We will need to play the kids as we aren't going to have anyone else. It's going to be a long road back.
-
It was away from goal to KDH in space, but haters gonna hate.
-
Daka got the assist for the first goal against Brum last Saturday. That's better than Vardy or Nacho vs Millwall...
-
Should have had a fresher starting team.
-
Yunus into centre for Ndidi, Albrighton on the right at half time please.
-
He did a home game too and was pretty good as I remembered. He let the game flow and kept authority.
-
We might see him Tuesday or Friday. A busy week so will need some rotation
-
Ipswich have a tough run in, Leeds too. On paper our games look better, but we need to capitalise...
-
I obviously want to be above them in the table, but I like this Ipswich side and manager.
-
Would have been a rather worse feeling if we hadn't won! Looks like we are going to have to dovthis the hard way. I rather am enjoying the Championship. Lots of close matches, not too much theatricals, no VAR. I am going to miss it if we get promoted.
-
Purely looking at the table we look likely to go up, but there is no denying our relegation level form and predictable tactics. I will be pleased but surprised if we go up, astonished if we stay up.

You will never hear a bad word about Big Nige from me.

The critical difference that season that shifted us from losing games by one goal to winning games by one goal was signing Robert Huth. With defensive solidity we could attack with confidence.
-
It's obvious now why we made no signing in the January window without being able to sell. It wasn't Top being tight fisted so much as our dire finances exposing us to risk of Fair Play sanctions. Sanctions that the Man Citys of the league seem to dodge via expensive lawyers. The cartel at the top were never happy with us upsetting the comfy "big six" from an unfashionable part of the Midlands. I expect Villa wont be made welcome either. Supporting Leicester has been a wild ride since Top and his Dad took over, and I am glad to have been part of the crowd to see our PL win and FA Cup. It has been the best decade in our 140 year history. What next? Promotion with a points deduction that puts us in a relegation battle from day 1 or a season that fizzles out in the playoffs then a transfer ban? Neither a very enticing prospect, but I shall still renew my season ticket. You've got to be their for the crap in order to be part of the glory. Did the Thais spend too much or too little? Or just plain badly (not that we are unique in this amongst football clubs!)? It seems they can't win with some fans.

One difference between our early games and the later ones is that we used the young wingers more in the first run rather than rely so much on Mavididi and Fatawu. A bit of rotation is going to be needed for 9 games in 37 days. The other thing obviously is that other teams now understand our game plan, in a way that they didn't in the first games. There's not much we can do about that apart from playing different tactics and I can't see Enzo doing that.
-
Yep. I worry that we have been sussed. Those matches were late goals conceded, same as today. At the start of the season it was us scoring the late goals. That's the critical difference.
