  1. Ward was always good at penalties, it's open play that's his issue.
  2. Bake off is having its opening show...
  3. We missed out on Corborean. Baggies now 16 points from 6 games, top of the table.
  4. Moyes or Potter might be more interested now that the points deduction is off. We cannot play like we did first half and stay up by luck and good goal-keeping.
  5. I really don't think so, but even at the 2 home games there has been enough entertainment if not points from Cooper-ball compared to 2 Enzo-ball games.
  6. The key lesson to take away is to not get in the same financial mess again. We won't get away with it again. I have never liked points deduction as a penalty for financial and legal issues. Far better is a transfer ban or wage capping for offending clubs etc. It levels the field the correct way. I am optimistic that we can stay up now. We have shown a bit of bite and fight, albeit without much in the way of points so far. I like Cooper-ball more than Enzo-ball as a fan, maybe less technical and sophisticated, but far more entertaining.
  7. Positives: when we put on 2 of our creative players with Mavididi and Beunonotte we scored. They both should have started. Skipp and Winks worked well in double pivot, Skipp having a nice bite to his game before having to be more restrained after his yellow. Mads kept us in the game and his distribution is getting better for distance. All players looked up for it and while unsophisticated the game was more fun to watch than Enzo ball with it's bombscare passing around at the back. Ndidi was the only one with a truly poor game. We have enough to stay up if not too much of a points deduction. Negatives: Not a good midfield line-up first half, Abdul not getting enough of the ball. Vardy should be impact sub rather than starter. Ricky should be starting too. Shocking reffing and time wasting by Villa. It made me nostalgic for the Championship. I don't see Villa doing well in the CL, they will be back mid table soon enough.
  8. Could have done with a bit more creativity in midfield, but fingers 🤞
  9. Yes, hard to get enthused by penny pinching and no vision, but Starmer did win, not least by having hopeless opposition.
  10. We also lack money, particularly if wanting to avoid further financial penalties. It's difficult to recruit to a team favourite to go down due to points deduction. It's a bit Starmer like, boring and cautious, but with a season goal of 17th place not a bad window.
  11. For a skint club I don't think a bad transfer window. Some useful additions, and loans both in and out. We are still stuck with a few duds, and lack definite goal scorers at this level. It will be a struggle to stay up with a points deduction but worth noting that both Forest and Everton survived with a points deduction last season. I am not convinced that we are any worse than the other bottom half teams. I am a bit unimpressed with Cooper so far, and have ridden our luck a bit against Spurs and Fulham but I think we have a fighting chance. It's the hope that kills, but I will be there at 3 O'clock anyway.
  12. He seems to like a shot from distance, and got them on target a couple of times, so adds something to the team. Could well wind up as a bargain buy.
  13. Cracking cross from Fatawu to spot him. Gonna shine this season.
  14. If we were passing out from the back we would be 4 down. Some great saves by Mads early on. Kept us in the game.
  15. I think it is going to be a very short one...
  16. At least it won't be boring!
  17. I would like to see Coady get a chance too, always impressed by him in the PL. We do seem to have a lot of defenders, so I suppose some will be moved on. Need someone who can deliver set pieces better as next priority. So far so good in the transfer season.
  18. Great news. I have the sponsor less credit crunch shirt somewhere...
  19. That's the brutal truth. We need to meet the FFP rules, and that means any new manager has to largely work with what he has got after the summer departures. There will be some bargain acquisitions, and perhaps a few larger signings. I am sure that Potter wasn't willing to do that, while Cooper was. It's a bit of a hospital pass, but any manager who can pull off staying in the PL will have a freer hand second season.
  20. He's always been a Fox...
  21. Don't rain on my parade, this is my best suit.
  22. Knows how to win Silverware and communicate with fans...
  23. I think nearly all use by non ticket holders is by friends and family of the ticket holder. The club used to allow upgrading a child's ticket to an adult so did allow this. Has there been an incident? If no incident then what's the problem? If a significant incident then confiscate that ticket holders ST.
  24. I think McAteer is better on the right than left, so an alternative on the left is needed. Marcal played there a bit at the beginning of the season, but not made it from the bench for a while.
  25. These teams with "nothing to play for" certainly seem up for it.
