  1. The other player I will never forget was Kante in that side. Best DM ever. Ranieri made that team click, at least for one magic year. Les Ferdinand was pure class too, even though could only manage 20 minute cameos.
  2. I have renewed, as have those around me. Not optomistic and next season may well be as bad as this one, but I enjoyed the football more than I expected last time we were in League 1. I don't have much hope of an immediate return, I think that unless things change at the top then we will continue to drift. So why renew? Well I suppose that it is the triumph of hope over experience. Being a staunch supporter is about about the unglamorous games, not just the big ones. The weekend wouldn't be the same without.
  3. Sure but Seagrave is a symptom of how management has gone wrong at our club. Expensive, looks good on paper but fails to deliver. It is the Soumare of training grounds. It certainly makes no sense to keep both Seagrave and Belvoir. It should all be concentrated on one site including the womens team and acadamy.
  4. The big difference was not Rowatt for Cifuenties it was Jordan James becoming unfit. He was the only good thing this season. If he had stayed fit we wouldn't have been relegated. Our midfield has been pants without him.
  5. The rot started with Seagrave. Sure it looks on paper a great facility but the reality is that it is a white elephant and we lost all our fight and soul. The players got too pampered and comfortable, too entitled.
  6. To be honest the football may be better in L1, it was quite enjoyable last time, not least because we won most matches. Getting pounded every week in the Championship is no fun. Its not the League that we are in that bothers me, but rather the complete lack of direction and communication. I really do not want another summer like the last one with no manager or signings.
  7. I will be renewing. I have had my ST for 12 years and might have to move away from the Midlands in a couple of years so want to get as many games in as I can. In any case there is always more to talk about afterwards with a crap performance, just look at this site 🤣🤣🤣
  8. Not mathmatically so, but the writing is on the wall.
  9. Well not today obviously! 🫣
  10. He is a good player, but like most of the team his confidence is completely shot. He is out of contract at the end of the season, but cannot see him wanting to stay. Next year's team is going to be miserable to watch.
  11. He doesn't need to run about, just get 11 other guys to! I remember when he used to sit in the stands rather than touchline.
  12. If King wants to give him another chance then we should back King. At least until the final whistle.
  13. Lookman vs BEK tonight. Should have kept Lookman.
  14. What is the plan for our club as a business this season? 1) To draw a line under the FFP sanctions, and not get back in the same mess. 2) To get the playing staff wage bill under control by selling the expensive ones and winding down contracts. 3) To not get relegated by the points deduction, and to sneak into the promotion slots if possible. 4) To have a manager willing to work with what he has got and the youth team, and all on a shoestring. If it isn't Marti then it will be someone else like him, or worse like RVN This sort of restructuring is going to be the same with or without KP in charge, and it is unlikely to produce scintillating football on the pitch. What interests me as a season ticket holder and active supporter is seeing some sort of long term strategy beyond fixing the finances. We won't really know if there is until the end of the season and the summer window, but I expect it to be a slow rebuild in the Championship over several seasons. There is no magic wand.
  15. So who is out there wanting to buy us? Tumbleweed....
  16. Yes "Be careful what you wish for" is right. I remember the management before KP, and it was crap. Financial problems put us into administration, then the dross of the Mandaric years. I've only been going a quarter century, but there were shite owners before then too. So ditching KP without finding another buyer is like walking away from your wife and still expecting Sunday lunch and a blow job. Sure if there was an eager buyer who genuinely had both the funds and the expertise to get us back to the highs of the last decade then we should look at the deal. I am sure Top would be interested too, as he has enough hassles in his life without us. There should be a reckoning behind the scenes over the financial mismanagement, but new owners are not a magic solution. There's loads of clubs out there with owners hated by their fans.
  17. It is Twixtmas and everyone is dozing on the sofa full of cold turkey sanwiches.
  18. No, just a percentage each year to meet its charitable objects. Charitees are required to keep enough reserves to cover future commitments. I really don't think there is anything odd with this.
  19. Maybe, but that's progress! He is young and keen, so might get better and is at least entertaining to watch.
  20. I am becoming a big Silko fan. Crazy name, crazy guy. So much energy.
  21. I thought a much better performance all round (Ayew and Mavididi excluded). Ben Nelson very good, Skipp and James a great pairing and DCR showing his finishing. Both Page and Silko looked decent, neither out of their depth. Silko deputised as striker quite competently. Good to see Marti freshening it up with some earlier subs, even if 2 were forced by injury. We played decently albeit not brilliantly both halves of the match for the first time in ages. Derby were pants with no idea or plan, but you can only play whoever turns up. A double over Derby closes the year nicely.
  22. Well that was a great performance (apart from the stupid goal conceded). This does look to be our best starting line up and the players do look confident and up for it, apart from the bit of a wobble for 15 minutes after their goal. Skipp is a man transformed and MOTM in my eyes, but pretty good performances all round against one of the form teams. Things are looking up.
  23. Femurs heal well, not like knees etc. Our only financially realistic option for a striker this window is either a loan, someone untested (like Carranza) or someone experienced but not getting games. I think Antonio is worth a go on a pay as you play deal.
  24. Marti, Jordan and Bobby's Blue Army! ( just dropping by to see how many FT heads are exploding!)
  25. Ricardo hasn't played a midweek game all season.
