He might also sit on the bench behind Vesty, Coady, Faes and Okoli - it’s a no brainer he has to get first team football at a level he can gain experience without too much pressure

We have not spent the money we have to send him out on loan - before we got relegated we may have spent £15m for potential but not this season and not likely to do so again in the near future!

He would be an excellent signing - different to what we have and a great dressing room leader too!

DJed Spence would be a good addition

He’s not ready just face up to the fact he’s not ready physically or in terms of footballing to play in the first team in the prem - i think we have had probably the worst preseason in 25+ years with the platform we have and watched all the preseason and the lad still overplays and try’s too much - similar to what BR said 2-3 years ago and he needs to go on loan and play for a decent footballing championship or league one team - playing him in the crock of shite will not help him or us

Those saying he was too old etc are slightly quieter now and also Ayew has firmly showed it’s not the case in management thinking but why o why we never went for him and greaves over Okoli and Ayew I will never know - Ipswich have far more chance of surviving than we do but some of the decisions KdH, Ndidi, Vesty, Ayew, Okoli, Skipp, BCDR…….on top of cooper has to be the worst preseason since we had Peter taylor here - dreadful and sadly it will cost us as there is no way we are staying up with this squad and management plan but worst of all we won’t even have a chance come the January window imo as it will be long over !

Moyes over potter every time in the situation we were always going to be in - we need someone who can work with what we have and find a way to compete - Moyes and Nolan would have and would be perfect !!

We do need another centre back 100% - we need one that can play at the prem level !! Faes and Vesty together are not good enough and I don’t get the Okoli signing at all when someone like Greaves was available …… ridiculous signing

I agree it’s been bang average if not really poor but we definitely should not have spent it all on a striker we should have however bought 3 starters who add quality and been better value - we have for some reason seemed to have just bought mediocre players - low risk, experienced but limited players……..really under whelming but a bit like our management appointment so so strange compared to the last 10 years of running the club when we seem to have been innovative. We will have wasted an instant promotion and we will have to rebuild again next season in the championship and sadly it will have been a missed opportunity and the gap will grow even wider and maybe it will take 5 years to get back this time !

He has to take it at face value as he sees it tbf - Riccy was particularly poor preseason although he was not the only one - I for one just don’t see what VK gives us at all and would rather have Riccy at RB and JJ at LB but time will tell

Insane - Ipswich were at the best club side in the world arguably and Forest are probably an equal if not better than Fulham - personally did not expect a win but if we are to have any chance of surviving you need to be competitive at teams like Fulham with a threat - we were completely second best and only one team was ever going to win the game - don’t expect miracles but don’t be deluded either as we will have no chance of survival based upon the two showings so far! Pick three teams worse than us !

🐐 I idolised Gary Lineker as a young boy and to this day remember him leaving to join Everton with a wee tear in my eye however the day this man packs it in or retires I firstly hope it is with us so he does not move anywhere and despite my now mid 50’s will probably end in floods of tears he really he is the 🐐for LCFC - I do not think anyone can compare his loyalty, commitment and desire let alone his ability are to be admired !!

No because we are newly promoted and have been relegated - it’s not rocket science and if you don’t think that other prem teams like Forest, BHA etc are more attractive too you are deluded - we are making a dogs dinner of assembling this squad but we need a reality check we have fallen now need to rebuild - granted mistakes have been made and maybe are continuing to be but I am not surprised we are not viewed as attractive - it has nothing to do with EM leaving either

Taylors season was desperate and this reminds me of that - I think we got beat 5 nil at home to Bolton and the proceeded to get relegated - he was a complete gimp and has all the signs of being a repeat sadly.

I take some of your points but would i swap there squad and manager for ours - i probably would and time will tell if I am a mug but the whole of this preseason has been a disaster and over the years of watching very infrequently does that not turn into the same outcome especially in the top division!

This will be 49th season and maybe entitlement has taken me over or maybe it’s just age but I have never had so much apathy towards a new season. i still feel angry at the idiots from two seasons ago and last year was the most painful watch despite the results so I was glad when EM left but the aftermath seems chaotic and frankly confusing. unlike lots of you I believe KP/Top have our interests at heart but some of the decision making and approach seems clueless and even I find myself asking what are the owners doing? also I hate the framework of the prem league as we have suffered for trying to be competitive 4/5 years ago and due to FFP feel like we have our hands tied behind our back. I have been to all the preseason games and wanted so desperately to get behind cooper but the players look lost, disorganised, not overly fit or sharp and no clear plan - I don’t mind he was ex-Forest but I do wonder if they have gone cheap and it might not be very cheerful. anyway the theme was deflated but I feel more disconnected and frustrated than ever yet I watched teams produced by Lee, Pleat, Taylor et al but this has been a really tough preseason. moan over !!
