  1. Just look at the majority of the posts at the start of the match thread. So many posters called it when the team was announced. How can so many fans see it but not the Manager?
  2. Leicester - plenty of possession, no goals - City. Like a fecking broken record.
  3. It's still early in the season I know, but it seems we should write it off and plan for 26/27. Trouble is; we are awful and have a points deduction incoming, so we might have a too close for comfort, brush with the bottom three.
  4. The absolutely bottom line is, we are not very good.
  5. Freeview CH75, show film of 60s (and 70s) groups giving live performances back in the day. I've seen some great ones on there recently.
  6. I would say 60s. There's a warehouse along Silver Street that stocks LSD!
  7. There was a debate on here recently about what exactly is 'Being British'. They used to say home is where the heart is. Sadly, on too many occasions, 'British citizens' hearts are very much elsewhere. We have the potential problem in Birmingham, primarily because of the recent Gaza situation. We had violence between Muslims and Hindus in Leicester over issues in Pakistan/India. There will be probably more such disturbances in the future too. I despair.
  8. Local MP Ayoub Khan, an independent for Birmingham Perry Barr, who campaigned on a pro-Gaza platform in last year's general election, supports the ban - perhaps not surprisingly? He went on to say that his support of the ban is based purely on the polices safety concerns. He staunchly said, 'We should support our police. But then he completely undermined this unequivocal support for the police by adding - '.....on this occasion I do'.
  9. Shopkeeper testing a lightbulb worked before you paid for it
  10. What an incredible and emotive piece of film this is. The fellas emotions cause him to stagger in disbelief and unbridled joy. Very moving.
  11. Video Plus numbers. I've not been able to record a bloody thing for years now.
  12. One for the, 'Birds you Fancy.......' thread?
  13. Kasper. One of the bargains
  14. I hope you didn't get ripped-off like I was. Tenner for two tablets that turned out to be these......... The rotter took advantage of my desperation and colour blindness.
  15. I can exclusively reveal the identity of Zear0
  16. We have a small 2' dia pond that that has had frogspawn deposited therein* most years. Often however, it can all disappear overnight. I wondered if some animal laps it up during a midnight feast, especially as a neighbour reported frogspawn (vomited?) all over their patio one morning. * One year, I was passing our pond and it looked like it was coming to the boil as there were loads of bubbles appearing. Closer inspection revealed 6 or more pairs having a proper frog orgy.
  17. I think so these days. We had a replacement window a couple of years ago and the company asked for a 33% deposit, another 3rd just before the job was started and the rest on completion. We have just had new internal doors fitted and the firm wanted a 50% deposit, with the rest on completion .
  18. Ironically, this was more pronounced in the same demographic as the TB cases. Surely it's clear? In the case of TB treatment nowadays, it is very treatable. Sadly, in days gone past, it was an absolute killer. My family on my mother's side, was absolutely decimated by it. My Mother herself only just survived, but with a massively impaired lung function. If you fall into one of these risk groups, you risk yourself and others - as demonstrated in the piece I originally linked to. There is a free test available in this area because of the heightened risk in these parts for a reason.
  19. Then get treatment?
  20. Alas, because of the apathy, the consequential medical care is anything but free to the taxpayer and adds, unnecessarily, to the NHS burden. Also, the longer lasting affects of TB on the life of individuals, both immigrants and indigenous folk alike, can affect your whole life. It is, quite simply, avoidable.
  21. We have the highest TB Rate in the country. Unfortunately, not surprising and, as you read the article, pretty annoying...... .........The body also said 82% of TB cases in 2024 were found in people born outside the UK, who often migrated to the country with the latent disease, which then became active. In Leicester, there is a free test available for anyone, with or without symptoms, who has entered the UK within the past five years, has lived for at least six months in a country with high TB rates such as India or sub-Saharan Africa, and is aged between 16 and 35. A free test that, clearly, too many do not take.
  22. Spotted this mushroom in Bradgate Park today. I've never picked/ate wild ones before but apparently these Parasol mushrooms are delicious.
