I'd take staying down for a change of ownership, that's all. If you want to stay down and risk doing a Charlton, Bolton, Wigan, Blackpool, Huddersfield rather than what Bournemouth, Brighton, Palace, even Forest are doing now, then you're not wired correctly and competitive sport shouldn't be your passion.

What's the alternative, stay down for years and still not be ready? We didn't look ready for long periods of 2014/15 but soon turned it around and many would've said Sunderland weren't ready this year and had a great summer window. I just don't see the point in not wanting to progress. It's better to come straight back down with PL money in the bank than fall behind similar sized clubs at this level.

If he's fit, over his injury and happy with reduced wages, then yes I'd have him. He's experienced, can lead the line, you'd have thought he's likely to be motivated after the accident and he's more of a presence than what we have. Can play in a few attacking positions. Having said that, it does once again show how far we've fallen.
