    Alireza Jahanbakhsh

My thoughts exactly. He’s no slouch by all means and he does have a turn of pace but he isn’t Jamie Vardy with this overall pace. Then again, if he is played more centrally then pace isn’t so much an issue, it’s the acceleration over the first few yards which is key to getting away from the opposition and watching a few videos of him, his acceleration and his upper body strength shows that he can do this comfortably. I think from a physicality point of view, he would fit in well in the hustle and bustle of the premier league. Even if he is played out wide, we may not need to worry about lightning pace as much because it seems like our full backs will be told to push on, support and maybe even overlap which will naturally push players like Jahanbakhsh narrower and more central anyway. He looks a tidy player with the ball and his weight of pass and eye for goal make him a instant goal threat.

    Mahrez replacements

Admittedly, having only watched YouTube videos of him, I think Saif-Eddine Khaoui looks like a player with a lot of potential. His footwork reminds me a lot of Mahrez’s.

    Domagoj Vida

Liverpool have seen an opening 18m (£16m) Euro offer for 29-year-old Croatia and Besiktas central defender Domagoj Vida rejected. Taken from BBC’s gossip column who site 90min.com as the source. https://www.90min.com/posts/6112342-besiktas-turn-down-opening-18m-bid-from-liverpool-for-croatia-world-cup-star-domagoj-vida

    Mahrez replacements

Saif-Eddine Khaoui, 23 year old left-footer who plays mostly as an attacking mid but can also right wing. Just watched this video of him and his balance and footwork reminds me of a certain someone else we picked up from obscurity in the French league. 👀

    Daniel Amartey

Thank you for clearing that up for me. I know he limped off in the game against Bournemouth and missed the rest of the season with the injury but I just assumed he would have recovered by start of pre-season training. Puel did say at the time that he sees Amartey as a right back and that he almost insinuated that he would be willing to give him more game time. Maybe, therefore, he doesn't need to move on quite just yet if he hits the ground running this season?

    Daniel Amartey

Has anybody seen him in the pre-season photos? Is he one of the ones who has been given extended leave due to playing international games in June?

    Yasin Ben El-Mhanni

A very honest and open interview from the lad. I think he’d fit in here with that sort of attitude. I think he’d be worth a punt.

From what I’ve read, he is supposed to be very good at scoring from free-kicks.

    Mahrez to Man City shock

Thank you for answering that question for me. Having seen very little of him over the past season, I wasn’t sure if he had the right attributes to be able to play in the “No.10” role or even be retrained to play in that position given some time and support. Was he deployed in Celtic’s team as a typical European style attacking winger whereby he was instructed to cut inside on to his stronger foot as opposed to a more orthodox, run to the touchline and put a cross in sort of winger? Any insight would be great. Thanks again.
