It's more making signings as if we were a Championship club like we did with Hermansen and Fatawu who were arguably better and far better value than the likes of Skipp, Ayew and Okoli etc.
-
There's every chance we are under a transfer embargo if we go down until we prove our way of meeting the requirements for 2025/26 and for 2024/25 that will have already happened. I think we ought to make value for money signings as if we're in thr Championship.

Recording tonight my friend. We don't let up EVER -
I think you're probably right but we also don't seem to negotiate that well anyway, often pay handsomely (eventually)
-
But this happens fairly regularly, even with Fatawu who we'd already had for a season on loan. We then had delays in registering him permanently. Maybe I'm being harsh and I certainly don't scrutinise every other club for robust comparison but there's multiple instances of us faffing about.
-
Am I dreaming it or could Fatawu not train for a number of days in pre-season because we hadnt sorted his registration?

Winks, Coady and Ayew will only have a year left each so hopefully we shake hands and get them gone. -
Amanda Staveley.....

And what's your reasoning for how respected journalists said it was done as early as Monday, didn't get announced until Wednesday and still by Saturday we hadn't got clearance for him to play.

Anyone heard any rumblings about Alves to Birmingham? -
I mean the stats said completely otherwise but this narrative will always remain whilst we're this atrocious.
-
The final 5 minutes of that half were breathtaking. I felt like someone had sat on me. We are beyond clueless. Let's hope in a perverse way this gives us more of a chance of 3 points having played well in recent games and got fcuk all to show for it.
-
I get the risk of injuries with him and for that reason it probably makes this signing too much of a gamble but he is exactly the type of player we need to bring in to stay up. Should have got Haller from Dortmund and Jovic from Milan and tried to recreate the magic from Frrankfurt.
-
Yeah not sure if it's just a purple patch but he's the sort of striker who's potential could be massive. A bit of a maverick.

Can well see him being one of those strikers that by mid to late twenties has honed his craft in to being a decent striker at the highest level. We've seen it with Chris Wood and Andrei Kramaric, were we wrong in getting rid and the gap between then and when they became good enough. As a club we've struck gold with the best striker any club of our size has seen in the last 30+ years but at the same time we've been utterly horrendous at any competition or replacements of Jamie Vardy. Time will tell on this but I'm pleasantly surprised we've got £13m for him.

Evans hasn't got anywhere near the hype of Monga and yet is only 16 himself and is just as mustard. -
Edouard is basically gone. We will not use him, likewise Ward as you say. The question is, can we afford for Edouard to remain and get another striker in? Cannon being sold increases our finances but doesn't open up another place in the squad. Feel like we still need 2-3 to leave and the same amount to come in. Ideally I'd want 4 new players. LCB, LW, RW, Striker.
-
Oh it would be lovely though. I'm trying to think of a system that enables 3 attacking central midfielders behind a striker and there be width and defensive solidity.
-
Vardy is being used far too much currently and it surprises me he's not had more injuries. In the past he's had these horrid spells of form, often on the back of an injury that stunted his rhythm and we just have to play him back in to form. But last year Enzo handled him very well and didn't need to do that and we seemed to get that balance right of him scoring a good amount. We really notice the lack of pressing as a team when Vardy plays, with 3 games in a week I'd be resting him and starting Daka.

To think we'd got a major boost of not breaching PSR and we lost at home to yet another relegation rival and once again didn't score. All hope is now lost which is where we'll probably end up getting a win and the torment starts again. El Khannouss masterclass
