  1. Leeds had to do that because of the clauses in the contracts, not because the EFL had enforced any such restraints due to PSR.
  2. I'd be going after Tajon Buchanan on loan from Inter
  3. £6m for an elusive left footed CB who's Argentina U20 captain that can play left back as well. That to me seems a value punt.
  4. Let's be honest if other European clubs were in for him we'd be a very unattractive pick. We need to pick up value from South America where we aren't up against plenty of competition.
  5. Wonder if we'd sign a player for £14m, them have a crap half a season with no goals or assists and make a £7m profit on them?
  6. This was from Monday by the looks of it so it could change later in the week. We'll know on Friday as the U21s are playing. Be very disappointing if one of Monga or Evans aren't in the squad, we've only 1 left winger and on the right it's not exactly a solid choice.
  7. The media need to be all over this at the press conference tomorrow.
  8. That's surely a typo as they've then quoted sources such as Swiss Ramble who have included it.
  9. It's absolutely staggering we're going to go in to our next league game a week today without any new players. Even if things move very quickly (they seldom do) they won't be considered for the game and it's a massive game against a relegation rival. The way this club writes off games as they muck about getting new managers and players in is something else.
  10. Going on Mastermind next month on German 2nd division right backs
  11. Would not be surprised if the loan fee was 1/4 of the transfer fee they paid for Edouard because that covers their PSR requirements for him for the year and not be worse off as a result of letting him go on loan (discounting the savings on our contributions to his salary as well). He was originally on a 4 year deal so if they did pay £14m for him then that's about bang on. But they needed him gone, they were waiting to announce Nketiah once Edouard had been moved and were pretty desperate. If we've bowed down to that then it's galling, but I suppose we were desperate for a striker and blinked first.
  12. We were an EFL club during 2023/24 and their rules don't allow for stunts like that. Been interesting to see if we do this during 2024/25.
  13. Swiss Ramble have included the training ground sponsorship, they've responded to me on twitter.

  15. Swiss Ramble is the best of the best but I do wonder if the training ground sponsorship has been picked up by all these financial experts trying to project potential figures.
  16. Whilst you raise many good points, I can't help but think about the wages the likes of Atalanta, Frankfurt, Leverkusen, Villareal pay. It's far far less than even a low to mid PL team and yet PL teams get swept up in the gamesmanship that invariably seems them overpaying on transfer fees and most definitely wages. This is where a strong strategy has to be in place to move those on to other PL clubs willing to pay them more or European clubs where they fancy a new challenge. We stopped selling players, didn't build enough financial flexibility to make a loss on players that weren't contributing and no resource pool to sign unpolished players with the high risk high reward that comes with them. We to an extent are victims of our own success for thinking we could compete with the top 6 by doing things differently to what got us there 3 times beforehand and that's the problem. Although I do dispute we had the excellence off the field to maintain an effective strategy with sound recruitment year in, year out so our only hope was trying to striker lucky with multiple seasons finishing top 6. We're toast now, this is likely to be the last year we'll be within touching distance of the wealth of the PL and we'll bow out with a horrible set of assets to show for the £80m or so we spent this season. Makes me so nauseous to see our recruitment methodology compared to some of the teams above I've mentioned.
  17. Agreed. He was massively suspect for that 2nd goal vs Man City the other day and I remember him being very iffy last season in a few games he played the inverted full back role. I like him as a Championship player but he's not a PL standard right back by any stretch.
  18. Bought a Ssangyong Rexton, It's costing me a decent whack but they supposedly hold their value due to how good they are for towing etc.
  19. Antonio Cordero - Malaga (Ruud's ex club) contract up in the summer. Right footed left winger (can play wide right too It's a yes from me
  20. Most business this month will be overseas loans so I'm not so sure any false rumours will have much impact.
  21. Naaah he's the sort of player that clubs get hoodwinked they can iron out the mistakes and then they've got a major asset on their hands.
  22. If that's a distinct possibility and we stay up and the losses then drop to £83m including 24/25 then I foresee major issues for 24/25. We've spent nearly £80m last summer, which is £15-20m on the amortised books (although Praet and Vestergaards circa £8-9m dropped off) as well as wages going back up upon promotion.
  23. It's that inevitable silence before we get told it's a difficult window to recruit in and it's now not certain we get the players in. Of the 7-8 January transfer windows this has happened in the majority of them and that's even back when we didn't have the level of financial issues as we do now. You can see it a mile off. We'll be lucky if we get one signing.
  24. I'm sure he said he'd made some estimates on that but that's where there's huge ambiguity.
