  1. Agreed. Doyle LB, Justin RB and Ricardo and Winks as a pairing. That leaves KDH or Yunus behind the striker, or radically Cannon there behind Daka/Vardy.
  2. Cannon played ina front two at Preston last season, usually the one in the withdrawn role as well.
  3. The two things that need to happen immediately are to drop Faes and do away with the inverted full back. Look at the goals we've conceded in the last few months, they almost exclusively have come from mistakes from Faes, the RB absolutely nowhere to be seen due to being central (Hamza at Bristol City, Ricardo at Millwall and Plymouth). Thirdly, we have to drop Daka for Cannon or change system and play Daka and Cannon up front together. Daka's prolific form at Salzburg and when he did well with us at the start of his time here was largely in a front two.
  4. We should have utilised the relationship much more, they've had 2 players there in recent years who'd have improved us in Keita and Patris but we don't seem to play the game. Maziz would be an interesting signing in the summer, very classy.
  5. Not had a good season though? Only been marginally more effective than Opoku who we own.
  6. So annoying we didn't get him when you look at the modest fee and that he'd have got a lot of football here competing with Mavididi and Fatawu.
  7. Pure profit as well. I like the idea of replacing him with someone like Gabriel Sara or Matt O'Reilly both whom would come in slightly less than him but maybe we don't even have that luxury and must recruit at a much lower value and exploit some different markets.
  8. Anything over £25m is still a very good deal for us. If we can get more than that despite our predicament then I'll actually give our board some praise for the outcome.
  9. That's what I'd hoped had happened at Bristol City where they were boo'd off and given stick. We then won the next 2 and we were back in a good position, only to lose to two horrificly bad teams.
  10. Abdul Fatawu is not an obscure player? You've name checked Ricardo, Soyuncu and Maddison (also Evans) who were all more of a household name than Fatawu. Last summer was more a nod towards the sorts of value for money and unproven but talented players but we have a long way to go to get back to being ahead of the game.
  11. Mames Jaddison
  12. I like a fairer representation. I also think it derives because the natural order in the league is not the same as the Prem. Players are excelling throughout the league despite their league position. Whittaker and Sczmodics for example have been phenomenal.
  13. Can he please stop persistently diving please? He's actually a pretty robust and difficult to dispossess type player and yet he risks giving up the ball cheaply by looking for a foul all the while. Does my nut in.
  14. Managers have to take punts all the time, or punts to the casual observer. You'd hope behind the scenes there's been enough due diligence and work put in that they have confidence of making a chance. Daka was thrown in from the complete wilderness in December and it kicked us on hugely. Not sure how his confidence evaporated so much in February onwards but that it did. At the very least when Enzo has gone on record as saying we've worked on where we might have to play differently over the last international break, and despite being behind in 3 of the 5 games we've played for large chunks of the game, he's still not felt thr need to deploy whatever that is. It should be Cannon on alongside another striker. He's a player who thrives on chaos in the box for him to get off a first time shot with accuracy. That's what I want to see us do, although it's possibly too late.
  15. He's had some clangers an'all.
  16. He did get sent off for us in the League Cup in 2006/07 vs Hereford and then seemingly wasn't in the team for a month or so afterwards.
  17. No. They've played different roles but if I were to rate (likely biased) the two this season then Pereira has been better IMO.
  18. The Masters, like many majors hasn't had the drama as much in the last decade as it used to. I know I'm generalising here as my era it was dominated more by individual players but there's something I can't put my finger on that feels less exciting. It's possibly because of my relationship I had with golf and betting and becoming a compulsive gambler but it's all rather dull nowadays. Scheffler is becoming a real machine, but we've seen this with a few others for a few years and then they drop off. His ability to correct his swing before impact is something else.
  19. Walker-Peters has been very good
  20. How on earth has Rutter got in over Adam Armstrong?
  21. Yeah it's not good, one of the few things I immediately enjoy when back in the EFL is more Saturday 3pm games. 5 a weekend not at that time is a big shift.
  22. Really sorry to hear that mate. I lost my dog last August and it's absolutely horrible. Such sacred creatures.
  23. Because quite frankly Patson Daka is in the worst form I've seen from a striker all season, Vardy is extremely streaky and his last purple patch seems to have halted with the international break. It's looking like he's best suited to coming on with 20-25 to go. Kelechi is leaving in less than a month. So it is time for Cannon to be given another chance, he's the only one who Enzo hasn't given a sustained run in the side of a few months. He was excellent at home to Huddersfield and away at Millwall but I do have concerns if he's a pure lone striker or yet again he's another striker we own who suits being in a front two (see Daka, see Iheanacho). His strongest attribute is his shooting, especially first time without hesitation. He's a competent link player and he can hold the ball up OK as well. If Maresca were to be brave to make a change in system then him in a front two would be my choice and I'd first try him with Vardy but as I've said, Daka always played in a two at RB Salzburg where he shit goals.
  24. 2 months ago and in that time has proven himself to be incredibly biased and dismissive that his protege could be under performing as a manager.
  25. Will never happen but I'd like to see Sammy Braybrooke come in to the team and push Ricardo in to the 8 role alongside KDH.
