Like ours, such a consumerist, disposable, profligate society is unsustainable. The current LA wildfires are partially due to the natural physical geography of the area, urban sprawl and encroachment and in the main, exacerbation of these natural processes through climate change, for which the entire developed world is culpable. Areas that are prone to flooding, wildfire and drought are experiencing this with increased frequency and intensity. As you say, if there's one thing that can be pinned upon a significant percentage the US public, lobbyists and Donald Trump and his ilk -- it's climate change denial bred by scientific illiteracy and rampant opinion based populism.

This has the potential to affect everyone in LA County, that's 10m people, 14% of the population of the UK. I have close friends in the Hollywood Hills and several in Pasadena - all have been evacuated. Another in Walnut which is 12 miles from the Eaton fire spent the night spraying his roof with a hose. He said on Tuesday night that he'd never experienced such a strong wind from the San Bernardino mountains. Wildfires are not unusual in California but to encroach on the city like this is unprecedented. An excessively dry summer, autumn and winter has parched the tinderbox chaparral vegetation whilst the Santa Ana Föhn winds from the desert regions - hot and dry - fan the flames like bellows. Yesterday in Pacific Palisades: The other side of the planet. Monday, three miles away from me... This chaos is o our doorstep, coming to a town near you.

You mean Tik Tok isn't already an asinine, broken, vile, corrosive platform? Irrespective, think about the ownership. One of the few things that Musk pussy foots around is Chinese sensitivities and he is eager to preserve his relationship with the CCP - in particular Li Chun - and not to jeopardise the huge market for Tesla and the gigafactory in Shanghai in which over half of all the company's cars worldwide are manufactured there. Also his Mother, Maye, is a silver influencer and a huge luminary in the nation's cosmetic/fashion industry, has recently signed a highly lucrative deal with Aisa Baobaou a Chinese mattress maker and has built a portfolio comprising a slew of Chinese brand collaborations. Her biography has been translated into Mandarin and is a best seller whilst commercial endorsements have helped her to build a sizeable following on Chinese social media. Staying friends with both Trump and China at the same time is going to be a huge challenge for Kekius Maximus and as trade friction and the Taiwan question intensifies, this will be a balancing act that will be hard to maintain. In fact, this is impossible to sustain unless one of them compromises - which as we know full well, isn't in either of their natures. I predict a massive fall out within a year not dissimilar to the split with Bannon only ten times the acrimony. Additionally, Musk/X is capable of inflicting far more damage than Steve Bannon/Breitbart was and as opposed to defying the Republican Party establishment by his subsequent support of insurgent candidates in Republican primary elections, Musk meanwhile will likely shift allegiance back to the Democrats out of sheer spite - the irony. The unsavoury truth is, that Musk is a king maker now whether people like it or not. He spearheads a new era in which the corporate is able to not simply lobby, but usurp the government.

Bart Sibrel is back doing the rounds flogging the same old conspiratorial horseshit about the Apollo moon landings. Through the Joe Rogan Show and recently Cadance Owens' podcast he has gained a huge new audience for his deception that lack the capability and the will to independently verify and substantiate the veracity of his fallacious claims for themselves. Lacking any knowledge of the subject whatsoever they are then made to feel 'special' and privileged becoming overnight armchair/pub stool authorities regurgitating, distorting and inflating his lies in a grotesque online version of Chinese whispers. Where some may argue that moon landing denial is innocuous and not in the slightest bit dangerous it does nonetheless demonstrate the ease of dissemination of click bait disinformation, the process behind this and lays the gullible and suggestable wide open and susceptible to more insidious disinformation based upon an irrational distrust of anything that they deem to be an 'official narrative'. This also breeds anti-science and where this impinges on health issues, is a threat to us all.

Prem Officiating Abomination Journal 24/25

How annoying for the Premier League then when Anthony Taylor decided to flout the master plan by failing to penalise Jordan Ayew for the fifteen yard tow off Paul Onuachu's shirt into the penalty area. Get out of here with your dumb, f***wit conspiracy theory. -
Hard to say for certain, but it looks like the thrust reversers were deployed. Reports about a bird strike are unsubstantiated although there is a flame from the engine on approach captured by MBC TV footage. One of the surviving members of the cabin crew reports that they heard an explosion from the right hand side engine shortly before landing. I think you are correct that for some reason, the aircraft landed way down range. The plane itself is a Boeing 737 - 800 that was formerly delivered to and in the service of Ryan Air from 2009 and left the airline in 2016, subsequently acquired by Jeju Air in 2017.

Could you put the central heating on in the safehouse whilst you're about it?

Absolutely second all of this. I still own a Les Paul Studio which is a tuning monster with rather primitive electronics. It's really worth spending more on a higher spec instrument so that you don't have to upgrade. There are however some superb copies to be found. I had an 80s Tokai and it sounded wonderful (unbelievable sustain) and played beautifully. I also know two professional musicians that had endorsements with Epiphone and preferred them to Gibsons. Also, a Les Paul is a heavy guitar, so can be slightly unwieldy if you every play long sets live.

Could This Be the Most Important January Ever?
SpacedX replied to StanSP's topic in Leicester City Forum
The most important January business ever was securing Robert Huth in 2015 on loan from Stoke City, without whom, 'the great escape' would not have been possible and went on to prove instrumental in our title season. -
Per head, amongst 15 - 19 year olds, yes. These tend to be from deprived backgrounds and include a high proportion of Maori and Pacific Islander men illustrating the problems that still endure surrounding cultural identity and colonisation. There is also stigma surrounding disclosure of mental health issues. I lived in New Zealand for a period as a child. Many of the problems can be attributed to schooling and bullying. I was fortunate to live in a quite prosperous area, but it there were nonetheless acute class divisions. It's a beautiful country, albeit tectonically very active but I am saddened by the environmental issues caused by intensive farming that many are oblivious to.

This was several years after they had split up.

They used to show Beatles films at Christmas. The first one I saw was 'A Hard Day's Night' and it completely captivated me. Without having a clue what I was doing my parents took me to W H Smith's that Christmas and I bought 'Rubber Soul' with a voucher I had received because I liked the cover. I played it incessantly until the age of nine whereupon I got my next Beatles album. I then requested them every Christmas.

It's a far better option if Mads is back and given the albeit remote chance that we might strengthen in the January window.

Revolver. I used to get a Beatles album every year, following spending a WH Smith's voucher on Rubber Soul having watched 'A Hard Day's Night' one Boxing Day at the age of 7. Revolver was the most anticipated and it fascinated me even before hearing it. My Dad was hosting an African academic called Dr. Robert Kuburu and I was playing it when he and his colleagues arrived on Christmas Day. I remember being childishly amused when 'Dr Robert' came on. This was such a remarkable progression in their sound and recording techniques and still completely engrosses me to this day. My first electric guitar and amp was also very memorable. Even though they were complete piles of shite, I didn't know it at the time.

To make matters even more insufferable - there are two match threads. Oh joy.

As discussed, it's not exactly a cheap quest - but a very rewarding one nonetheless. If you like the Glenmorangie 12 then Glenlivet 12 will be be very much to your approval. I think it's better. That said, the enjoyment comes from the departure from what you know.

Somewhat similar to your project, it would take archived news footage from a selected year and soundtrack it with the music released/coincident with the events. Should be able to find episodes online, possibly You Tube or Daily Motion.

Yes, that's the one. Spot on.

Do you recall 'The Rock n' Roll Years' programme on BBC?

Now that really is a heavily peated smoked scotch. Not so sure about the absinthe qualities though. Let's ask Americans how to pronounce it... At least she can say Islay correctly!

Egyptian Cream milk stout - which reminds me of Cassels, it's that good. What Guinness shortage?
