It's no coincidence that when you see clips of the tour pros in the gym, they're often doing core and leg work. There's so much instructional content on YT these days about 'using the ground' to generate power, so there's definitely some value in improving leg strength I'd have thought. But no one likes doing 'leg day' at the gym do they!

Yep, that's him. Apparently loads of footballers and celebs go to see him at Woburn for short game lessons. Absolute guru.

I play off a 9 h'cap and drive the ball a similar distance to you. Last week I played with three lads who are all off scratch (one of them is an assistant pro at Woburn and a massive Chelsea fan. He spent all round telling us about meeting JT recently who was at Woburn having a short game lesson ). It was quite soul destroying seeing all three of them hitting it 50 yards further than me off the tee. While I'm going into par 4's with a hybrid, they're hitting wedge, so it's no surprise their GIR were so much higher than mine. I miss so many greens in reg that I've had to learn to scramble my arse off over the years and luckily I got up and down more often than not. I'd actually say I putted the best out of the four of us. BDC just released a video on YT saying 'Drive for show putt for dough' is the wrong way round. I would love another 20/30 yards off the tee but I'm 50 years old, weak as piss, and my technique is flawed. No new driver or fancy shaft is going to give me the silver bullet. Good luck in your quest for more distance. Without doubt it will make a difference IMO. But I've resigned myself to knowing my limitations and just trying to play my own game and within myself.

Would take some organizing but I'd be up for it

Said every amateur golfer after every round

People say our atmosphere is shit but the last 10 minutes while Spurs were searching for an equalizer, all I could here was the players talking on the pitch.

No Madders, no party.

Haven't watched it since Tom Baker. The wife still likes it though. Do young uns still hide behind the sofa to watch it?

Poisoned chalice. I'd steer well clear of OT if I was him.

Did you know Newark is the only town in the UK which is an anagram of willy puller?

I like Tony Bellew. Hope he wins.

It could be mate, I've no idea. It was 18 years ago and hadn't happened to me before or since - a total one off. I like my theory of an angel watching over the wife as she's pregnant. It's total bollocks but comforting at the same time

Really enjoyed that, thanks. I watched this a few weeks ago and a fascinating insight from Johnson and Dallaglio as they talk through the game. Interesting that Woodman talked about how emotional he got when Martin Johnson picked up the trophy and what a legend he was etc. whereas Johnson says how uncomfortable he felt on his own and thought the whole team should have been up there.

Lived in the city centre here between '96-'99 and was on a constant state of alert

Could be. The person was so vivid but I couldn't make out exactly who it was. The funny thing is that I didn't feel scared at all - if anything I felt safe. Very odd. The wife reckons I dreamt it all but I'm convinced I was awake and conscious.

Exactly. It doesn't make any sense!

I'm not really a believer in ghosts and all that but when my wife was pregnant with our first about 18 years ago, I remember waking up in the night and there was a person standing at the foot of our bed on the wife's side. This person was dressed in all white and looked like a cross between an old nurse and my MIL. I must have stared at this person for a good 10-15 seconds then they disappeared. My theory is that the wife had suffered four miscarriages previously and this was some sort of angel watching over her. Freaked me out and still does to this day.

How nice of you

I love the Wrexham story - I'm all in. I really don't get the hate (especially from Leicester fans) and can only assume people haven't educated themselves about what's really happening at that club by watching both seasons of the documentary. The owners have clearly fallen in love with the club, the employee's, the players, their families, the fans, and the town and the community - it's heartwarming. And all this 'Hollywood FC' stuff is bollocks. The owners are actors FFS so obviously like the limelight but they're not in it to make serious money (they're already about £25m down with building the new stand etc.) I can only put peoples hate on them down to jealousy, which is a bit sad.

I must say, some of the denial on display in this thread is very impressive
