Goal kick routine and the ghost of Cooper.
It'sblueupnorth replied to Collymore's topic in Leicester City Forum
I find it incredible this is always the rhetoric banded about when people criticise possession based football. It’s easily understood what short goal kicks are trying to do, but it’s clear to see when it doesn’t work. Having to fizz the ball about your own box is absolute lunacy, and I can only think of 1 goal that it has directly caused for us (Watford away) whereby in the same game we also conceded from the same play. Short goal kicks are the easiest things to plan and set up against and when you win the ball your 30 yards from goal max with 5/6 against a disjointed defence who aren’t ready to defend, it just invites defenders and midfielders to take more risks in their own box. In conclusion it’s absolutely wank -
Yes but when the player in question is the one of a very small pool of pl quality we have then it’s not that embarrassing
-
50k Geoff Peters said in the summer, which is 49,999 more than he’s worth. He can have a quid for turning up but should donate it to charity
-
It’s one thing I just can’t work out, the only thing he’s good at is saving pens, did the wales youth set up just have pen shootouts. Wank shot stopper, not particularly good with his feet, wank at claiming crosses etc despite being 6ft 3. There’s nothing about him that redeems him other than pens, I don’t have a clue how he’s got to the level he’s at
-
He made me sick
-
I hate that people think Wrexham would take him, their current keeper is better than Ward and wouldn’t cost them 30 bags a week
-
The problem with that is rudkin would give the bag of flour a 60k a week 5 year contract after being much improved on Danny fraud
-
Burglars would have a field day, no chance he’s stopping them
-
Absolutely no chance, the club were supposedly trying to get rid of him in the summer but couldn’t because he wasn’t willing to drop wages
-
If Ruud has anything about him, he’ll have Ward in his office tomorrow to cancel his contract. If the club refuse to pay it out, tell him to stay at home, don’t bother turning up again
-
It’s not really, we’re the only club in the world that would pay 12.5m on the fat waster. We’re also the only club in the world that would cough up another contract extension on 50k notes a week because his agent said wolves were interested in signing him after playing for wales. It’s just unfortunate how badly ran we are as a club that it’s come to fruition that he actually has to play. The **** has absolutely no interest in playing, and after showing his standard to be probably national league, what club is going to want to pay a transfer fee for him never mind budget crippling wages
-
It’s not even hyperbole, I’ve played with Sunday league keepers that would do no worse than him, and wouldn’t have cost 12.5m or 50k on wages
-
Where the **** is mads
-
Faes in midfield would be minging
-
Selling him in jan would relegate us there’s not a chance in hell that’s happening
-
That defence is absolutely minging 😂😂😂

Who will benefit most from Ruud's presence ?
It'sblueupnorth replied to Elsie Effcee's topic in Leicester City Forum
Football is obviously not linear but an acl at 16/17 when he was still growing and to miss 2+ years of his development, and now at 19 he’s not even playing for the 21s, I’m struggling to think of a player who’s kicked on in them circumstances. He needs to be playing football and he’s just not. Really hoping I’m wrong and he does find his feet but he just seems to be in limbo here atm, maybe someone will take him on in January on loan and he can start getting matches under his belt -

I think you’re right, if he was that good he’d have been in by now. Unfortunately I think the acl injury has ruined his career before it even really started -
Tell me you’ve never watched Tom cannon without telling me you’ve never watched Tom cannon. He’s missed some absolute sitters for Stoke this season and had 5 shots against Burnley yesterday alone. I don’t think there’s much if anything in it with them for finishing but Daka has more pace and better movement which will see him miss more chances than Cannon just through volume more than quality. I’ve seen nothing in Cannon that’s made me think hell be anything more than a Jordan Rhodes, McCormack, nugent type that will score goals regularly at champ level but doesn’t have much else to his game that will see him move up to prem level, whereas daka someone will take a punt on him because he’s more of a nuisance and can press with bags of pace and energy, despite not being that deadly. Cannon does have time on his side though and maybe with a supposed decent coach in rvn that side of his game will develop. I also think at this time with the state we are in there’s no point bringing him back, fans would quickly get on his back and his confidence would quickly get sapped. Let him progress with stoke this season and have a look in the summer

Is wormleighton anywhere near the first team?

Awful suggestion, he was minging at rb when he was still any good, can’t imagine what he’d be like after his legs had gone -
You're clutching at straws, from my understanding of fair market value rules it will actually hinder us because anyone who’s willing to touch us with a barge pole now will have to bid as much or more as King power sorry bc game did for your statement to be true
-
Should never have been appointed in the first place, don’t trust this board to get the replacement right and why have we just wasted 2 weeks of international break to give him a chance v Chelsea. Totally inept and incompetent from the board
-
Any penalty that goes in is a good one
-
He’s not getting sacked for losing 2-0 at home to Chelsea is he, just tormenting yourself
