  1. Jakub Ricky Faes Okoli Thomas James Winks Fatawu Ayew Mavididi Carranza This team gets us top 6
  2. Build the team around Winks. It's what Enzo did and we won the league.
  3. I loved Kaamark as a kid, and while I could see an argument him being in a 'favourite XI' I'm surprised to see so many putting him in their 'best XIs'. Played 65 games across 4 seasons, and while I know a lot of his absence was due to injuries the lack of game time alone puts him significantly behind Pereira or Simpson for me. The only on-pitch thing I remember him doing was man-marking Juninho (which tbf was legendary). But I'm not sure he'd have even been a guaranteed starter if everyone in the O'Neill days was fit. Good player no doubt, but I suspect he benefits from being memorable because he was an international player from an era when they felt much more exotic and exciting. I'm not saying this to troll as I liked both players, but I'd probably put him in the Timmy Castagne bracket.
  4. Schmeichel Pereira Morgan Elliott Fuchs Mahrez Kante Izzet Guppy Healey Vardy
  5. Never understood the pearl clutching over this. Footballers do a lot worse on nights out (eg we didn't sack Jamie Vardy after he racially abused somebody... thank god!). I think the only thing we know for sure is that Winks was part of a group where somebody held up a sign. It may have been him but I'm not sure if that's ever been confirmed. In terms of undermining management, wasn't this during the interim period between Cooper and RVN? Even if not - I still have a good relationship with people I used to work for/with. Similarly, if somebody I manage said they liked their old boss I wouldn't sack them
  6. Sheffield Wednesday, first game of the season.
  7. Because he's one of our best players but currently not getting on the pitch...
  8. On the Ben Marshall 'Undr The Cosh' episode he said half the Pearson squad used to commute from the north-west. Off the top of my head - Marshall, Drinkwater, Schmeichel, de Laet, Wellens, James, Danns, St Ledger, maybe even players like Lingard and Keane. They used to do lift-shares for training. In the O'Neill era, I believe Frank Sinclair, Ian Walker and Andrew Impey used to commute up from London. I genuinely think the 'sleeping over the night before' issue was a van Nistelrooy thing and spoke to his terrible man-management. One of the selling points of Leicester is that it's in the middle of the country and you wouldn't need to uproot your family to play for the club.
  9. Stolarczyk Ricardo Faes Vestegaard Thomas Soumare Winks Fatawu James Mavididi Carranza
  10. In the Championship both are fine. Agree if we got promoted they would be 4/10s.
  11. Overall it's a balanced squad with a good mix of youth and experience. GKs: 7/10... Jakup, Begovic RBs: 8/10... Ricardo, Hamza LBs: 7/10... Kristiansen, Thomas CBs: 7/10... Okoli, Veste, Faes, Souttar, Nelson CM: 8/10... James, Soumare, Skipp, Winks RM/LM: 9/10... Fatawu, Mavididi, Monga, Reid AM: 7/10... Ramsey, Ayew, Page ST: 6/10... Carranza, Daka, Evans It doesn't feel like a squad that will dominate like Enzo's did, but should be good enough to be there or thereabouts. Keeping Fatawu is huge - he can be the best player in the leaghe. Hopefully Carranza and Ramsey can bring back the best in Mavididi too...
  12. Sensible window... 8/10
  13. Isn't it one out (Ndidi) and one in (Jordan)? I also think Jordan can play as more of a no10, though I'd imagine he'll primarily be Soumare's partner in the middle.
  14. Not sure if joking but 29 isn't even old We signed Huth, Fuchs, Wasilewski at similar points in their careers - three of my favourites ever Leicester players! A captain and established international sounds just what we need - a good team needs a mix of youth and experience
  15. Always liked him but he'd peaked (or at least stagnated here). Good luck to him. Similar to Kasey a good fee - I just hope we can reinvest it. Maybe I'm naive but surely the books must be looking ok by now??
  16. Didn't see the game as I was working, but from that perspective: - away win - clean sheet - wondergoal - started five academy graduates(!) - opposition started the season well - taking opposition's long home unbeaten run Came on here hoping to see some positivity but the posts are still toxic! I get the performance may have been poor, but look on the bright side lads. The nihilism on here is off the charts
  17. Yeah, our fans are getting a bit like emotional teenage girls angry at rumours Zayn wants to leave One Direction. You can dislike Winks but he is clearly a good footballer, especially at this level.
  18. Who is supposed to score the goals he's assisting though? I like BEK and he might go on to be a £50m+ player, but it's impossible to predict how things will pan out. More often than not, high potential players who get moves like this don't really reach that next level (Piper, Joachim, Fofana, even Heskey and Chilwell arguably). Injuries, form, scouting etc are all massive factors. Not saying he won't have a good career, but as things stand I feel like this is a better deal for Leicester than Palace.
  19. Our U21s finished 10th in the youth league last season - playing them as a first team would mean relegation and Cifuentes gone. Prospects need to be eased in alongside experienced players, not thrown into a brutal league that could wreck their fitness, confidence and careers. I do agree though that senior players with bad attitudes should be moved on. We need to replace our experienced pros who think they're too good for the Championship with ones who are determined to prove they are.
  20. They were all signed under Rudkin's tenure TBF. Not to say he doesn't deserve criticism, but we can't just say "all things bad are Rudkin, but Rudkin has nothing to do with any good things". I think the pivot to older players was a Steve Cooper thing. Hasn't been the recruitment strategy before or since.
  21. Moved to Boro a couple of weeks ago
  22. Tough demand... Harrison plays for Leeds
  23. Would be a shame to lose Winks - he showed yesterday how good he is. Hopefully frees up a bit of cash for Cifuentes to mould the team as he wants it, but I can't see us getting a better CM than Winks.
