  1. I don't think anyone wants the way things are to continue - but there is an argument to not changing the manager until you first change the people who would decide who the next manager will be. I think he'll go if (when?) results don't improve, but the rot runs a lot deeper than the dugout.
  2. I would love him back at the club. What is his current health? I know he had extremely serious surgery, but if healthy enough it feels like an absolute no-brainer. He's the only person I can think of who could stand up to the egos in the squad and the boardroom to stop the obvious toxic behaviours in the club.
  3. Are you sure? The last 3 managers have been exactly the same in terms of formations, 'tactics' and players picked. I'm not even convinced they pick the players.
  4. I'm extremely underwhelmed by the guy but I really don't think it would change much. Just like sacking Cooper didn't. Or RVN. We have to make changes that have clearly been needed for years at board level and find a way to shift toxic players who haven't wanted to be here for years out. It's a zombie football club, and swapping managers again isn't going to solve the problem.
  5. Perhaps still too early to write him off, but he doesn't seem to have the instincts for English football. Seems mad that in this calendar year he scored a Champion's League knockout round goal at the San Siro that eliminated AC Milan
  6. Very generous from what I've seen from Carranza!
  7. There's a name I haven't thought of in a while. Last managed a club in 2012...! I don't think Cifuentes is the issue but I also don't know if he's the solution to our problems. If they could work together I'd utterly love whoever is in charge to work with Nigel Pearson as Director of Football and Wes Morgan as a coach.
  8. Agree we can't expect him to hit the ground running, but of course we can put him straight in. He's a professional footballer who has been in first team squads for years and played regularly at this level last season. I don't see why he'd be an injury risk. He's a 21 year old 6'5 unit of a centre back who trains every day. I also think the fans will be much more forgiving towards a local lad who isn't to blame for recent poor performances.
  9. I've repressed that from my memory.
  10. Unbelievable that we bankrupted ourselves spending €167m / £147m on this lot...
  11. We just can't keep playing an utterly predictable 4-2-3-1 with slow build-up and isolated players. Keeper (any) Nelson Veste Okoli Ricardo Thomas Hamza Skipp James Fatawu Ayew Edit to say - I know it's a crap team and playing our best player out of position, but maybe shuffling our shit squad a different way will create a different outcome
  12. I've got very little faith in him, but I'll say the same thing I said when we sacked Rodgers, Cooper and van Nistelrooy. While the manager seems inept, the rot runs a lot deeper than the dugout. I have less faith in the people picking the next manager than I do in the current manager. Even if he seems to be absolutely rubbish.
  13. Beat me to it I agree with the OP though. We are tedious, it's been really boring for a really long time now.
  14. We 100% could, though I think barring a huge deduction we'll be ok. It feels inevitable we will go down again in the next couple of years if we don't sort things out.
  15. He's underwhelmed at times this season, but I think he's ok - and definitely far from the worst offender. Young and seems to have a good attitude - one of the few positions I'm happy with continuity for the rest of the season.
  16. I still think he could potentially do a job in a midfield 3, but never gets a chance as we repeatedly appoint managers who will only play 4-2-3-1. He doesn't have the athleticism for a midfield two or the creativity to be one of the 3 AMs, and never will.
  17. I've said it before, but Kieron Bowie from Hibs. Young, tall, powerful striker who would be good foil for our wingers. Far from the finished article but will improve. He flopped at Fulham, but Harry Kane didn't look like a world beater at Leicester at a similar age! Here's an obligatory YouTube video Would probably cost about £5m so we probably can't afford him, but I'd hope we can spend something after selling as many of our bellends as possible.
  18. We can't keep blaming every manager when the problem is clearly deeper than that. Somewhere within the club we need a genuine leader who will identify and act on whatever the toxic elements are and build the club back up again with an ethos we can actually enjoy.
  19. Never felt anywhere near as distant from our players. Hard to get behind when so many are clearly bellends, want to leave and play such boring, ineffective football. Soumare, Faes and Vestegaard seem literally uninterested and I genuinely think it would be best for the club if they were all allowed to leave on a free if they can find another club. My team for the next game: Stolarczyk Ricardo Nelson Okoli Thomas Winks James Fatawu Ramsey Monga Evans
  20. At this stage, I'd be tempted to give Mavididi a go as centre forward.
  21. He's not played in 5 years, so it depends on how much he's been enjoying his retirement I guess! It's 7th tier, so it's not like he's playing against hungover binmen. I went to a couple of games in the division above them last season and was impressed at the standard.
  22. I try not to get over-excited any more when I've actually heard of a player we've signed, as it generally has meant they're past it. Coady, Keown, N'Gotty, Upson, Johansson, Howey, Wise, Decordova-Reid, Bennett, Dublin, Vassell, Fenton... There are exceptions of course (Huth, Evans, Cottee) and I know every signing is a gamble, but our record signing "experienced pros" feels poor at best.
  23. Yep, just take the loss and move on.
