That is a fair point, as a Business Transformation consultant I have reached out to the club to offer help and support as I see a number of potential opportunities to not only improve the performance of the club off the pitch but also to help raise additional revenue steams and improve the relationship with the fanbase. So I do understand how the emotional pull of working with your hometown club even in difficult and challenging times has a big emotional pull.

I completely understand what you are saying which is why I used the words some level of accountability, I am not saying he is directly to blame, but if you are so opposed to what is happening at some point professional pride and your own self respect would lead you to move on, particularly as a well qualified professional.

Plus keeping the appointments in house potentially keeps a lid on just how bad things are. Let’s be honest a new CEO may drive a bus through certain decisions, ways of working and question things like the sponsorship deals, the draw down facilities with Macquarie bank against future earnings, the wages and contracts to players, the level of outstanding liabilities and debt etc. Much better off for all involved to maintain the status quo and keep everything under wraps.

QPR Saturday 14th March 3pm (H) Protest - Unite for change
Claudio Fannieri replied to 1884HF's topic in Leicester City Forum
KPFC and the Self Preservation Society. This is what needs highlighting, this is a sporting equivalent of Starmer, continually making choices, decisions and appointments based around staying in power and control rather than bringing in people who have fresh new ideas and will challenge the current ways of working. -
Have to agree here surely if you have been part of the finance team at the club for the past 15 years which has also included a decent length of time in charge of it, then you must carry some level of accountability for what has been allowed to happen. Yes credit maybe due for the work that has been done to clear up the mess and perhaps the promotion is recognition for that and reward for helping Rudkin and Aiyawatt clear up a collective mess. All it says to me is jobs for the boys and very much keeps any new fresh ideas or outside challenge out the building. It’s the KPFC self preservation society. We will see little difference in how we operate. Even the new commercial director has a strong record in growing Asian markets and partnerships so expect to see more obscure partnerships such as FBS, BC Game, K Bet and 8Win

8Win Partnership Malaysia

Where is the innovative thinking, is this what the new wave will bring, more of the same, partnerships with obscure overseas gambling and crypto companies. -
Or it was always going to be this and Aiyawatt wanted to surround himself with people who just nod and say yes but wanted to make it look like a full blown process. I actually think Davies and Rudkin have been in post since Whelan left and it’s been more about waiting for McCarron and the Commercial Director to start before making the full announcement. I have read Rudkin’s statement and I am 99% certain that has come out of ChatGPT and as for Aiyawatt saying Jon is the perfect person for our the next stage of growth for the club as we sit in our lowest position for years is frankly ridiculous and yet again ill advised.
-
If Kevin Davies was the stand out candidate why not appoint him the moment Susan Whelan left, instead Aiyawatt moved into the Interim CEO role. Just feels like these appointments will reaffirm his control and he can carry on regardless. Nothing changes if nothing changes and let’s be honest the three most senior roles in this reshuffle Chief Football Officer, CEO and MD are all current employees and very close to the current ownership.

To us outsiders certainly looks like Top has promoted 2 from within to be his trusted aides, plus his mate Monika and then the 2 newbies appointed to deflect the criticism have come in as the next layer of management. Looks to me to be cosmetic changes and actually reaffirms the status quo, I fully expect to see little or no change in how we operate on or off the pitch. Think we will double down on the tippy tappy football and more of the same sponsorships and partnerships with obscure gambling and crypto companies.

A very quick bit of online research on 8win says all we need to know, online gambling company registered in Costa Rica to a random operating company, no or very limited financial reporting, set up in 2013 and has raised $10m in 2 rounds of funding but no reported revenues. BC Game mk 2 ……. -

Great pod as ever and honoured to get a mention 😊 Anyway here’s my song entry to the tune of this is how it feels by inspiral carpets This is how it feels to be Leicester, This is how it feels these days, From champions of England To compliance case studies and hearings delayed… This is how it feels when PSR’s knocking, Points deductions in sight, Checking League One fixtures On a Tuesday night… This is how it feels when Jon Rudkin Picks another “perfect fit”, Wrong gaffer, wrong signings — How’s he still in charge of it? This is how it feels when Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha Says “trust us, it’s fine”, We’re trusting points deductions more Than a back four line… This is how it feels when King Power Feels heavier than the crest, Not power on the pitch — Just pressure on the chest… This is how it feels, we went “global”, Sold the soul, rolled the dice, Hello BC.GAME — Hope the odds are nice… This is how it feels to be Leicester, Laughing so we don’t cry, From miracle to maybe League One… What a time to be alive. -
Yes so surely it’s more than a bit strange and doesn’t add up that they are spending 100% of their revenue sponsoring Leicester City Football Club because it sure as hell doesn’t stack up to me
-
The best thing is we are on the verge of financial meltdown and yet some of the commercial deals we have entered into make no sense. For example the BC Game sponsorship was a reported £30m 2 year deal and yet their revenue is reported as £15m …..

Most disturbing thing for me was the complete lack of urgency or desire, this was the opportunity to build on a little bit of positive momentum and yet we failed to show up. Even at 2-0 down there was little or no reaction. In the final 10 / 15 minutes when you would expect us to throw the proverbial sink at them, in truth we barely laid a glove on them. It was a woeful and truly underwhelming performance that has only further cemented the feeling we are well and truly up to our necks in it.

I cannot get past the last 2 seasons and how he has time and again disrespected the club, thrown in half arsed performances and basically stuck two fingers up to the people who pay his wages and spend their hard earned following the club across the country. Now JJ is back I hope Winks disappears back to the periphery of the squad. If our survival hopes hang on Harry Winks then we may as well confirm relegation now and fold the club. Epitomises everything that is wrong at the club and the fact he is given so many chances/clean slates doesn’t surprise me given how forgiving our fanbase is.

I would have a look at Danny Ormerod 19 year old playing for AFC Fylde in National League North, has bagged 25 goals so far.

It is seriously concerning and very dangerous that a large proportion of our ‘fanbase’ seem to support and adore King Power more than Leicester City Football Club and would rather cheer this regime on as they send the club into oblivion. Yes there were great times in the past and they were rightly lauded and praised at the time so why is it so difficult for some to hold them to account when things are so bad and we are dangerously close to relegation to league 1 and financial meltdown. I have supported this club since 1979, both my kids support the club, my missus has also become a fan and it is genuinely keeping me awake at night worrying that within the next 12-18 months we may no longer have a club to support. This is a truly horrifying situation to be in and how any ‘fan’ can sit there and back the people who are overseeing this is absolutely staggering and beyond belief.

Marc Albrighton understands it but doesn’t agree it with, which is hardly surprising given his association with the club.

6 point deduction - confirmed
Claudio Fannieri replied to syston_fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Sorry but we changed our model after the FA Cup final win chasing the champions league dream and its led to 2 relegations, multiple PSR breaches, a 6 point deduction and we stand on the precipice of league one and financial meltdown. Our success in winning the league and up to the FA Cup was largely on the basis of signing hungry players, selling them at their peak and reinvesting. The club changed from this and it went to 💩 -

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 absolutely spot on -
Picture the scene …. After lifting the FA Cup Aiyawatt and KP decide to sell the club. The new ownership preside over changing our model, oversee our relegation to the championship whilst not acting on Rodgers until too late. Sign multiple shirt sponsorship deals with shady betting and crypto currency businesses. Multiple PSR breaches, following a root and branch internal review offer Players like Coady and Winks massive contracts. Hire and fire 3 full time managers in 18 months. Cancel paying loyal and hardworking staff before Christmas without any notice. Oversee our first ever points deduction which leaves us on the brink of relegation to league one and potential financial meltdown. Now answer this if it wasn’t Aiyawatt and KP I guarantee more would be up in arms at how we are being run into the ground and join the protests. This is about our club which will always be bigger than any owner, family or company. 142 years of history, of being Leicester City Football Club.

6 point deduction - confirmed
Claudio Fannieri replied to syston_fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Yes if you don’t run it as a sustainable business. There is no rule in football that says you have to spend over 100% of revenue on wages. The sweet spot is somewhere between 60-70% and it’s having a model that enables you to do that and keep reinvesting in young hungry players with sell on potential. We had that model and then decided to move away from it and as soon as we dipped it’s collapsed like a house of cards. -
Makes me smile as it says back the badge, but is all about supporting KP. Actually demonstrates that in their eyes LCFC no longer exists or is not the primary concern anymore and it’s more about KPFC and showing devotion and loyalty to the family. Remarkable given where we currently stand that many object so vehemently to anyone who dares to question the direction of travel of the club.
