I would suggest the issues are with the character of player they are coaching and the culture at the club, as oppose to individual coaching ability. All of these coaches are A licence so will be more than capable and competent at putting on good sessions, the issue we have is that the culture and professionalism is on its arse and half the squad checked out a long time ago. I think a good % of our current players believe they are way better than playing championship football managed by a former QPR manager and instead should be playing in the premier league or at least being managed by the 2nd coming of Pep. Pearson if his health allowed him to would be excellent as he would drive up standards in every aspect and start to change the culture. Even if he is not fit to resume as a manager I would ask him to come back as a consultant and start to rebuild the sports science and analytics sides of the club back to where they were in his 2nd spell. However it won’t happen as this would mean him stepping on Rudkin’s toes and domain so not a chance in hell it happens.

Realistic Managerial Replacements
Claudio Fannieri replied to winteriscoming's topic in Leicester City Forum
If Big Nige js healthy and fancies it then absolutely but if not and in truth given Susan Whelan has now left, I ain’t so sure he would come back to work for Top and Rudkin. My choices as follows - Ritchie Wellens Miron Muslic Tony Mowbray -
Aside from a few players this squad is so unlikeable. Really am losing any enthusiasm for this group.
-
Currently averaging 1.28 points per game and scoring 1.14 goals per game for a team with promotion aspirations somehow I just cannot see him surviving, feels a lot like under Cooper I fear too many of the squad are just not having him and self preservation will mean a change is made sooner rather than later.

That was a painful watch, no real patterns of play and very little attacking intent, didn’t lay a glove on them 2nd half when you would hope we could have really counter attacked them and at least created a few chances. Got exactly what we deserved at the end. One win in 10 for a team with aspirations of promotion and performances are tanking, regardless of who’s to blame, or any other reasons that are going on in the background, I will be hugely shocked if he is still in post by the end of the weekend.

Boro 1-1 H Post Match Thread
Claudio Fannieri replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
Such an ugly performance which would have only been remotely acceptable with the 3 points but to throw it away at the end against 10 men is just another sucker punch, mentality of this mob is so negative and weak. We looked like a team at the bottom of the table going to the Etihad in the hope of clinging onto something. Zero ambition or intent tonight, we barely even tried to counter attack. Marti looked devastated at the end, I think he knows that result after that performance probably costs him his job. -

Marti Cifuentes appointed new manager
Claudio Fannieri replied to Tuna's topic in Leicester City Forum
I think don’t win tonight and he will be gone, self preservation will kick in. Kingy will take it on for the Norwich game with the hope of getting some sort of positive reaction and result ahead of the international break where the club will then look to recruit and appoint a new manager. -
Leicester v Middlesboro - Tuesday 4th November

Concerning if that is the starting XI is that players such as Winks, Soumare, Silko Thomas, Ayew and Daka are starting whilst the likes of Riccy P, Mavididi and Hamza are out of the starting XI -

If we do go 3 at back I would prefer the following - Jakub Okoli Vestergaard Nelson Riccy Hamza James Aluko Abdul Monga Mavididi -

I could get behind this if there was no Winks, Soumare or Ayew in the team. -
I agree in terms of forcing the players hand but at the same point it is going to severely damage and reduce any leverage in securing a fee that the club deems acceptable. More likely to receive really low ball offers.
-
As I have said elsewhere I honestly believe that once the transfer window closed a number of our higher profile, high earners who looked to be on the way out but did not get moves had to be reintegrated into the match day squad. I really don’t believe this is who Marti wants to select or how he wants to play. I think his quote yesterday speaks volumes.
-
Once the transfer window closed I honestly think the manager was told certain players have to be included in the match day squad due to wages and to keep them in the shop window ……hence his quote yesterday about wanting a smaller squad and it blocking the pathway for younger players. I really feel for him think he is being thrown under a bus.
-
Glad to see him included, if true, will need patience and time, hopefully after Saturday Marti will be allowed to pick the group of players he wants. If as fans we want to see genuine change at the club then we really need to show our academy homegrown players some love. On Saturday even Jakub was getting booed for slowing his distribution down when on many occasions there was no opportunity or person to play the ball too. I for one would happily forgo promotion this season to see more academy players bloodied in the match day squad and a good few of the wantaways left to rot until January or the summer. Let them train in their own little group away from the rest so they cannot undermine the main group.

Vardy called last season an utter shit show and felt it was the right time to walk away from the club but not end his career. Those words and actions would suggest that he had enough of seeing declining standards and culture, and as more and more of the old guard moved on less and less ability to influence meaningful change. Roll forward another 5/6 months and look where we are now, it’s no coincidence. The manager has been thrown under a massive bus, there are still 6 or 7 of the current squad who have checked out but the club cannot afford to have them sat in the stands or banished from the squad so they continue to be involved and as a consequence results and performances continue to tank.

If so this is very very disappointing. Personally I think there is more to this as a few of these have become visible in and around the 1st team and starting XI since the transfer window closed which still makes me feel it is more club led.
-
Or is being told he can’t
-
As a fan i wholeheartedly agree and would love to see the players I have mentioned never play for us again however from the owners point of view and as a business it is not good optics to have assets costing you over £200k per week or £10m per year rotting away in the stands. Even a club taking any of these on loan in January for loan fee and covering wages would be seen to be hugely beneficial to the club from a business perspective.
-
Clubs will see value in these players, I can easily see a club like Wolves taking a chance on a player like Winks who will be a very low fee, likewise Soumare will have interest from Spain and Italy. Faes is a Belgian international etc etc Look at Perez and Kelechi, both were pretty poor in their final season with us and yet both secured decent la liga moves. Also the agents will be doing their job in ensuring that interested clubs understand that their player is not appreciated and it isn’t their fault blah blah
-
There has been a few moments which I believe were pivotal and signalled the beginning of the end - - Wes Morgan and Christian Fuchs retiring and not being adequately replaced - Forest handing us our arse on a plate in the FA Cup - Selling Kasper - Not sacking Brendan after Brighton and Spurs had absolutely humped us
-
I honestly believe that there is a core group that are included in our match day squad that are being selected to try and secure moves out of the club in January. I would include Faes, VK, Winks, Soumare and Daka. All of those were players who were attracting interest from other clubs and most have expressed/shown a desire to move on. unfortunately this little lot even after wage relegation reductions are costing the club in excess of £200k per week / £10m a year. The club will be desperate to move these on ASAP with any interested club at least covering any remaining book value and all of there wages, this ain’t going to happen if they are all frozen out in some sort of bomb squad, we simply cannot afford to do it especially given our PSR challenges so, I think this is why Marti is having to continually select them within his matchday squad.
