  1. The difference being in business the acquiring entity want or need the existing leadership, knowledge, experience to continue the success. in our case this is the complete opposite
  2. I wonder if Wycombe pulling the trigger this early might just spark our club to make a decision. May feel now a manager has gone, it won’t necessarily attract as much media attention.
  3. I am sure I have read that Wellens wouldn’t entertain coming back whilst JR is still here
  4. I genuinely believe this squad is comfortably good enough to be challenging for the top two. For me, the continued underperformance isn’t simply about the quality of the players , it’s about the environment and mentality we’ve created around them. The tactical set-up has become too slow, too laboured and far too passive. There’s a real lack of intensity and urgency, and when that becomes the norm on the pitch, it inevitably sets the tone throughout the club. Frustration turns into malaise and losing starts to become far too comfortable. Play more aggressive, front-footed, attacking football, increase the tempo and give teams something to worry about, and I genuinely don’t think we’d be anywhere near the position we find ourselves in. Recruitment has also been questionable for several years, particularly through the Rodgers and Cooper periods, but arguably the bigger problem has been the wage and contract structure we’ve created. Big basic salaries, long contracts and limited performance-related incentive can remove hunger and create a comfortable environment where average performance is too well rewarded. That has to change. I don’t necessarily think another expensive rebuild is the answer. Reset the playing philosophy. Build around high energy, intensity, aggression and attacking intent. Then reset the recruitment and remuneration model alongside it. Offer sensible, sustainable basic salaries with meaningful incentives linked to individual and team performance. Recruit younger, hungry players who still have something to prove and have genuine future sell-on potential, supplemented by a smaller number of experienced players with the right mentality and leadership qualities. Create an environment where improvement is rewarded, performance matters and nobody becomes too comfortable. For a club like Leicester, particularly given the financial reality we now operate within, sustainability and competitiveness have to work together. We don’t necessarily need to keep rebuilding the squad. We need to rebuild the culture.
  5. Graham Alexander would be another who has a similar record to Challinor always seems to do well
  6. His LinkedIn profile has been updated 👀
  7. 👀 standing by
  8. Couldn’t agree more, all of the players signed will have played in different styles, formations and for managers with a different perspective on how the game should be played. Even our academy players such as Alves, Braybrooke, JJ etc have had loan spells away from the club where they have played differing roles, positions and styles of play. The issue isn’t necessarily the possession based style it’s the slow, laborious build up that’s the issue. Increase the intensity and look to play with more purpose when in possession and you would see a marked improvement without asking anyone to do anything they aren’t already doing. We are overplaying in dangerous areas which is our downfall defensively and then our attacking play is too slow, so mix it up more at the back removing the high risk and ask the players to play at a higher tempo with the ball and it is very different outcome.
  9. As always you make some really valid points, I do wonder though just how much damage yesterday will have done. RM was always one disastrous result away from being under serious pressure from the fanbase, he had that with Burton Albion, and MK wasn’t exactly the barnstorming response he needed, Tuesday offered some brief respite, but yesterday wow, the optics of a very empty ground at 0-4 down and the impact that could have on future attendances at such a critical time could be be the driving force that means the ownership have to take the gamble and sack him sooner rather than later. They need the ground to be full and bouncing as that will be a key factor in the sale, a half empty ground of negativity and toxicity will not help one iota.
  10. 2 of the last 3 sackings have come somewhat out of the blue, both Cifuentes and Cooper were sacked off the back of a very poor home defeat/performance and quite early on in their tenure’s. I think the hierarchy actually allow the mood music and the atmosphere/reaction of the crowd to sway decisions, I wouldn’t be shocked in the slightest if in the next 24 hours it is announced that they have pulled the trigger. The club is up for sale they can ill afford to be languishing in the bottom half to bottom 6 of league one, they needed to be flying high and a bit of feel good factor to help keep potential investors interested and at the highest possible price. make no mistake yesterday was a crushing defeat, to be humiliated in that way at home in league one, has to go down as the single worst defeat in our history, a new low and what is concerning is the reaction of the manager who has called out the younger players. It will be expensive to sack him and i am not saying it will definitely happen nor it has happen but i have a feeling in my gut that panic stations will set in and they will act quickly to try and protect the value of any potential sale
  11. **** sake Russ, talk about making me looking a prized sausage, well I won’t be so quick to nail my knickers to the mast again 😂
  12. Feck it I am going to say it, he has really surprised me, he is fixing the culture issue, he has promoted lots of young lads and shown his bravery and trust in the young players, his football when it comes off is great to watch but it is also face behind a cushion at times. He speaks really well, clearly cares about the club and this project, and it feels like our club is in good hands. And his hair ….. well it’s magnificent I like him and I am not afraid to say it 😂
  13. Is that your guess or a bit of inside knowledge? I like the look of it though
  14. Couldn’t agree more and Russell deserves a far amount of credit for the turnaround, he is definitely giving me Enzo and Nige vibes. Would be great to go on a little run of victories to help build the momentum and the feel good factor that is just starting to gather a bit of pace.
  15. A little favour from my fellow Foxes… 💙🦊 On 1st October, I’ll start my fourth and final Prostate United challenge, once again proudly representing Team Leicester City and running 5km every day throughout October for Prostate Cancer UK. Over the last three years, the support I’ve received from the Leicester City fanbase has been genuinely incredible. Donations, shares, messages and encouragement from people I’ve never even met have helped us raise more than £13,000. For this final year, I’ve set myself one last ambitious target – to finish having raised over £20,000. So I’m asking the Blue Army for one final push. 💙 If you can donate, brilliant. If you can share the page with other Foxes, that would mean just as much. 31 days. 155km. Team Leicester City. One final October. Let’s make it count. 💙🦊 Up the City! 👇 the link to my JustGiving page below https://prostateunited.prostatecanceruk.org/fundraising/steve-aquilina-prostate-united-2026?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=dssb-CL&utm_content=MPC&utm_ref=UBS&utm_medium=FR&utm_source=dssb-EM&utm_content=MPC
  16. Being linked with a move to Leuven
  17. Agreed if we are going to play with a high intensity we need to have good options on the bench to freshen things up and also be able to heavily rotate especially when we are playing 3 times in a week.
  18. He had to be a free agent by last night’s deadline, so will need to find a loan / permanent transfer to a club in a league where the window is still open, there are a few.
  19. You can in terms of accounting purposes but not necessarily if you don’t have the actual cash to do the deal, maybe that’s way the Page deal is being revisited ……
  20. I have a feeling he is the sacrificial lamb to enable us to move out the likes of Faes, Coulibaly, Okoli etc. reckon by securing £10m for Page will probably mean we can take a reduced fee for the others to get them out the door and the club/accountants will justify it as it will save £x hundred thousands off the weekly wage bill.
  21. Depends if we have factored that we would highly likely be selling players like Souttar, Faes, Okoli and Skipp etc into our budgets and now at this stage we are £Xm light and therefore have to cash in on Page.
  22. The issue is we are desperate for money so if we can’t shift some for the deadwood like Faes, Okoli, Skipp etc then the club may decide to cash in. Imagine the atmosphere tonight when these 3 still haven’t left and Page isn’t in the matchday squad as he has had to be sacrificed to try and keep the lights on……..
