Iversen gone to Preston (out of contract)
Claudio Fannieri replied to bald reynard's topic in Transfer Talk
Because we didn’t want to scupper any deal -
I think the agreement will be he can walk away and be free to negotiate a contract and signing on fee but we have no liability and will not request a fee. Given he is zero book value this will not harm PSR but also enhance it as a massive wage off our books

Iversen gone to Preston (out of contract)
Claudio Fannieri replied to bald reynard's topic in Transfer Talk
I genuinely believe we have valuations on a spreadsheet and if the offer doesn’t match our valuation then computer says no, and I don’t believe the spreadsheet value is necessarily the PSR break even valuation, I genuinely believe the club place their own valuation and don’t deviate away from that. My fear is the sales of Maguire and Fofana in particular have led the club to place inflated valuations on players even ones deemed squad players hence why we struggle to trade players especially ones deemed surplus to requirements such as Iversen and then eventually they leave for free. -
Where have you heard this?

I don’t think being a ex player is the driver, I just think it means naturally supporters take a more of an interest in their career, I would be more than happy to see Ritchie Wellens given an opportunity as manager, not because he is an ex player but because he is doing a bloody good job. Likewise in the case of Tom Cleverley I think we probably take more note of how he is progressing and how he has done, hence people see and perhaps know a little more about the style of play, how he promotes academy players and how he has done overall a pretty decent job in challenging circumstances. Just to put a bit of context to it, he finished 2 places and 1 point off the very highly rated Danny Rohl. Rohl has a win percentage of 38% and 1.4 points per game whilst Cleverley has a win percentage of 34% and 1.3 points per game. So not much between them when you take into account budgets, ownership etc. So when you look deeper into it you can see Cleverley, given he likes to play academy players, could be a pretty decent fit at our club.

quite an interesting article, wouldnt be my top choice but I would be more than happy if we did appoint him. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c983w3d6w7jo#:~:text=sack head coach-,Cleverley

I am not going to criticise the club too much on this one, this lad is a real talent and given at the time of signing we were staring down the barrel of a points deduction and it was always going to be a relegation battle so not surprised BEK’s representatives negotiated a sensible release clause that both parties gain from. -
Not sure I have seen his name mentioned but had to Muslic for me, despite Plymouth going down he has been superb since taking over in January from the absolute shit show Rooney left them in.

I agree, we would make around £10m in PSR profit and it’s not a release figure that will detract buyers. -

I literally have a picture in my head of Ruud wondering around Seagrave armed with a PowerPoint presentation of how he wants to take the club forward, constantly shouting Top and Rudkin’s names whilst they hide behind various pillars and pot plants trying to avoid him. Joking aside I think they are trying to force him to walk away, he wants out they want him gone but don’t want to pay out. -

I agree with some of what you are saying but Ruud is responsible for coming up with a game plan that at least means we are competitive, that we are difficult to beat or we are very creative, over his time we have been neither, we have literally lay down and surrendered and that for me is unforgivable. There is little or nothing positive to cling to except he has outed a few of the players as not working hard enough. -
The fear for me is our board see this as an opportunity to reduce our PSR position without getting rid of an established 1st team player. Honestly I can see Top and Rudkin seeing this as a great chance to justify the benefits of the academy and it being used to salvage our perilous finances as a result of buying absolute muck.
-
😂 The filthy foxes are coming for you woooooooo
-
My worry is that would be how Top and Rudkin view him as well, not sure they have the ability to look beyond the name, reputation, aura of a potential manager.
-
Errrrr no the manager who inherited an absolute shitshow from Rooney but if he had been in charge all season would have had them around 12th.
-
Let’s hope we do a deal, buy one get one free I said you buy one get one free and include Muslic as new manager
-
£30m for BEK will give us a profit of about £15m personally I think we will do a deal at £35m plus add ons so we end up with £20m clear profit plus opportunity to secure some additional profit if he hits some very achievable targets. £20m effectively gives you £80m-£100m if signing players on 4/5 year contracts
-
Ivanovic from Millwall, 20 years old attacking midfielder scored 12 goals in his first season in England would be a great replacement for BEK

Depends if we need to sell anyone before the end of June to negate a potential PSR breach. Imagine having to sell BEK or Nelson to cover the shortfall generated by overspending on signing duffers like BDCR, Ayew, Skipp and Eduaord. And still not generating any funds to reinvest, but we were in league one once and be careful what you wish for blah blah blah ……. -
Quality keeper and more than competent enough to be our starting keeper next season, if should be sensible and sign an experienced back up on sensible wages. I will be livid if we go out and spaff a transfer fee and hefty wages on a position where we don’t need to especially when we will have others area that need urgent attention and focus.

I have had similar thoughts too, especially given he has started to create a bomb squad that will get rid of a few who typify the honking culture and mentality that has allowed to fester this season. I even have a degree of sympathy for him given how he had so little backing in the January transfer window, Top and Rudkin really threw him under the bus, would he be very different with a chance to shape and rebuild the squad with his players and a full pre season. But I just can’t get my head past some of the abject performances and the lack of doing the absolute basics and then what has appeared a token nod towards the academy players, if he had gone full on and it really felt like he was blooding the youngsters for next season by giving them decent chances and game time then I would be prepared to consider giving him a chance next season but I think too much water has gone under the bridge and the relationship has already soured beyond repair. -

Wouldn’t be shocked to see a story in tomorrows media saying he will be gone and more links to potential replacements especially now the EFL season is done. Rohl, Cifuentes, Muslic and even Carrick all very realistic targets. -
Make it happen come on Top and Rudkin you know it makes sense.
-
But the deal would have already been done and then the EFL couldn’t do a thing.
-
Going to be honest I don’t agree with you, 20 goals last season and 8 goals this season would suggest he still has lots to offer, a damn sight more than Daka. Personally a sensible negotiation of say a decent signing on fee of say £2.5m plus £50k per week basic plus a promotion bonus clause of another £2.5m All in outlay of about £7.5m …….find me a striker to replace Vards for that outlay, don’t think we will get anywhere close. He has been grossly mismanaged this season, we have flogged a 38 year old week in week out because he is still head and shoulders above anyone else in the squad. Next season if managed properly he would still bag 15 goals.
