Watford 0-0 LCFC, post-match thread

Ha sorry. My point still stands tho. Whether it's standards, mentality or fight we are improving from some terrible runs of defeats. Hopefully it will be enough. -

Hey a clean sheet. 2 in 3 games. Keep the faith! In no way am I a happy fox or a happy clapper but I do see improvement and a bit of identity under Rowett. If only we weren't so fragile mentally. But then again, that's our 1st 0-0 this season. Perhaps our mentality is improving too. -
To prove it's the players who are letting the club down rather than the manager and his assistants. Hence why he is playing the 'more experienced players'.

I can only guess that 11 is to do with energy levels- players needing a rest. So frustrating. I can't wait for this season to end. Sadly, I felt the same last season as well, and at times the season before.

Premier League 2025/26 Thread
Product of 84 replied to OntarioFox's topic in General Football and Sport
In an ideal world both Tottenham and West Ham come down. The PSR requirements for both clubs would be enormous and it might bring about a rule change that benefits us. -
I don't get why Luke is being blamed for the equaliser. He did his job- covering the CB. Mavididi can't be everywhere either. The issue was the CBs both missing the flight of the ball and not getting into a position to deal with the danger at the back post. Something both Okoli and Nelson need to work on big time. On another note we have conceded goal after goal like yesterdays for a long time now. Last season we were overloaded and the full backs were constantly called out. The same again this season. To not address this is a major failure of the club. I might be in the minority but I don't think the issue is the quality of the full backs either. That said, I'd rather we persist with Luke Thomas than turn to Kristenson. I think Thomas is a better player and you can't fault his fight. He looks like he is trying to hard and then has the weight of Leicester on his shoulders. His header at the other end of the pitch sums his season up. Kristenson can't attack. A lot of our attacks break down when he is involved. Therefore he has to be a fantastic defender in order to play and I don't think he is. His injury record is poor and his refusal to play for Enzo was ridiculous. That said Luke Thomas was shipped out on loan that season too so what do I know!

You are right. But you've missed my point. As I said I'm fed up with talking about football governance and financial rules- I don't understand it well enough to make any reasoned contribution. I don't think anyone else truly does either. I mean where do you go for a reasoned opinion? Who can turn what we are experiencing into an understandable narrative that isn't a lot of conjecture or passionate dribble? The media perhaps? My opinion is our media is simply headline grabbing, sound bite making, viral hopefuls that are enjoying a story at our expense. It's dribble designed to stir emotional responses and is very rarely correct or has substance based on real facts or understanding. The club? Don't get me started on the lack of communication from the club itself. Or the mistakes made with communication. Or the mistakes full stop. The authorities? I think it's fair to say they have very little credibility due to the fact that we were relegated from the Premier League due to a team that had broken the rules. And what about a decision on Man City? Or perhaps they'd like to adapt the wording of rules to prevent hotels being sold (Chelsea) and then pursue them for it. But perhaps they are fair and the above is just passionate nonsense from LCFC eyes. Or on here? All I read on here is pages of baiting to weed out who is King Power in so they can be shouted at until they submit. Every response is turned into the arguement that King Power needs to go. And they probably do. For one reason alone. So we can get back to talking about the actual football. Then you realise that you've wasted another 30 mins of your life on the very subject you are fed up with. And that's my only point. I'm fed up with the debate around this. It's the fourth season in a row. I used to debate tackles and offside calls, whether the ball was over the line and how much of a clot such and such is. Simple things in comparison to this debate.

I hate modern football. Relegation shouldn't become a panic that you'll fail financial rules, potentially go out of business and face administration and lose your youth for next to nothing. The cost is simply far to high. And shouldn't the rules protect clubs from this happening. That said, I don't properly understand it all and I don't think many fans (or 'experts') truly do. Again another thing I hate about the modern game. And finally, I'm fed up with talking about PSR and finances. I want to talk about the actual football (even tho we are rubbish at that too at the moment). I'm getting less and less interested in football as a result.

Realistic Managerial Replacements
Product of 84 replied to winteriscoming's topic in Leicester City Forum
A theory I'd love to be true... We have appointed. We are just waiting for some form of contract obligation to run out. Hence why King repeatedly says he doesn't want the job. Another theory (and probably closer to the truth)... We can't appoint due to PSR until a certain date when all the monies align. I imagine we are saving a bit on wages. Or we are just incompetent. Or no one wants the job. It all seems very quiet now the initial newspaper noise has gone. -
Realistic Managerial Replacements

What he did do was install a strong professional culture while still allowing players to enjoy the experience of playing for England. Something England managers before failed at. I like the sound of that at Leicester. I think it's what we need at the moment. I think he is a leader. I also think he'd be great with our Youth which is our future. And as you've pointed out, Southgate might not get an opportunity in the Premier League based on fans feeling towards him. -

Or are we just painfully slow? -
Skipp is a bit like Wellens... I was surprised to see Skipp is only 25. I thought he was much older. I guess he has the potential to keep improving and learn to dominate the middle of the pitch with age and experience. In a losing team he isn't particularly likeable due to his playing style. Then you consider he came in at a bad time and played poorly. Fan's feelings for him isn't going to change over night, even with the better form he has shown more recently. That's before you consider his price tag and what the expectation is for a player purchased for that much. He is an easy target for us. He can't change any of that. Unless he suddenly becomes much, much better. That said I do think he makes players around him better tho. They just aren't performing either.

I'd like to see us have a go at Enzo's system and bin the 10. 3 2 4 1 in attack with the full back joining the sitting midfielder reverting to 4 5 1 in defence. We've the squad to do it.

Aribo adds height and strength. As much as I love watching Page he has been done at set pieces that have cost us a goal. We've lacked height and strength for far to long across the squad. Something the new manager will need to address in the summer.
-
Happy with that. He has made changes but not too many. I can see the starting line up gradually changing as the new players get to grips with their team mates etc. I don't think anyone can be sure of our best 11 at present. In King I trust
-
Enzo system Ricardo/Hamza can do the inverted RB thing. Veste, Okoli can be the CBs Nelson can do the LB that becomes LCB Winks can sit James/Ramsey/Page/DCR can be the two 8s Fatawu and Mavididi wingers Daka up top. I'd say with our lack of 10s we are more than capable of playing the Enzo way
-
I also want to know. My fear is that it's either Winks and Vesteguard in the match day squad. We've not seen Winks for weeks then Vesteguard disappears and Winks is in the squad. I really hope I'm wrong and we've secured him a move for money

Jordan Ayew - NEVER PLAYING FOR LEICESTER AGAIN!!!
Product of 84 replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
David Speedie. What a name to pull out the bag 😂 From villain to playing a big part on our promotion season. Even getting sent of in the play off semi final turned out good for us as we silenced the rams. That name has cheered me up a little. -
You'd think relegation from the Championship would look pretty rubbish on his CV. Perhaps he will play a bit between now and the end of the season. After all he wants away and if he can't get a move right now he needs to secure a team for next season. I'm not sure how many clubs would be that interested in him.
-
The second half is a chance to see who wants to play for Leicester City. I'm fed up with a lot of these players. But it will take a lot to raise themselves for the second half with so much against them. We will see who actually has some fight.
-
If Vesteguard is off we might have chance to actually buy a player or two. Hopefully, the last weekend I have to endure seeing our team looking so weak. My fear is Vesteguard and Winks have fell out and it's one or the other on match day.

Would you take Pearson til the end of the season?
Product of 84 replied to LCFCCHRIS's topic in Leicester City Forum
We need an O'Neill. A wise old head that can get a tune out of the players we have. Someone who knows who needs a nudge and can take a nudge or who needs a hug. We need someone to come in and simplify everything. To build a base the next person can build upon. -

Heart: Yes- I want him to sort out the players Head: No- We haven't the depth of player replacements (and can't replace them in the transfer market) to back Nigel when the fallouts happen. Conclusion: Now is the wrong time. If he comes back it's from the moment we are safe from relegation so he can look at the squad and reshape it in the summer. -
I don't disagree at all. Some of the players and their contracts have been continuously ridiculous. However, I'm dismayed to see what the rules are doing to competition. For instance, Wolves have totally given up and are now selling up ready to comply in the Championship. It's January! However, they might be lucky in some respects as their decision is done. There race run. However, what should Forest and West Ham do? Spend, don't spend, or sell up? You could argue if they don't sell and are relegated they won't be able to comply in the Championship.
